  1. Nice Job. It looks like one of your drop boxes is moving around in the pics. It should be aligned with the end of the plastic part of the belt.
  2. For the passport wallet/cell phone carrier, be sure to put your stuff in a ziplock bag or it will be a little sweaty.
  3. I have mine mounted by a homemade left-over-abs bracket and some velcro. The unit faces out and clips on easily for ease of charging and cleaning. I covered my homemade bracket with some black strapping so it all disappears when wearing. Peekers see nothing. -----------
  4. Hey Tomas, I can share a few. I grabbed a few pics too. One mod that I wish more troopers would do is adding foam inside their thighs and shins to correct alignment problems. I often see leg armor sitting weird or trapped under each other. Because the thigh armor has to be large enough to get your foot through, there is a little extra room in the thigh above the knee. This creates a bell effect and the thigh armor rests against the outside of the leg. If some foam is added on the outside side of the thigh, it aligns the thigh with the shin better and removes the bell (and bowed leg) look. Once you start seeing this in pics, you can never go back. --------- Another simple mod is adding felt to the TD clips so they don't scratch your kidney plate when you're putting it on and off. ---------- I haven't used the next mod yet, but I thought I make them anyway to create some usable storage space. I created some pouches out of old socks and attached them inside my drop boxes creating some limited storage space for keys or something. Velcro keeps them tightly closed. ------------- The next mod is where I keep my wallet and cell phone. I attached a re-purposed passport carrier to my backplate with velcro. It keeps it safe and on my person if I ever need it. ------------- The next few aren't really mods, but are tips or whatever. I found that using a couple painting stir sticks and heat helped shape my ammo belt (idea stolen from a thread here on FISD). I used a car polish bottle inside my gloves when I attached my hand guards. They keep the correct shape and don't fight each other. And I attached a plastic mirror inside the lid of my Stanly bin. This way i can dress myself and get that TD on straight. -------------- ---------- ------------- I hope some others chime in as there is a huge wealth of knowledge here. Never stop learning, we do.
  5. Reveal Pics?! ...
  6. Looking Good. Wingnut ... I'm jealous!!
  7. How did the EasyOff work? I've never heard or attempted that before, but I'm interested in the results! Pics!!!
  8. Bradley Davies 21814 Centurion Letter Thank you!
  9. Thanks Everyone! I've got to thank all the members of this FISD forum and the Canadian Garrison who gave me great critiques, guidance, support and direction through my build and revisions. I couldn't have done it without you! The FISD site and it's members have been an amazing resource, and I hope I can help new recruits in the future as I have been helped. I've also got to thank all the FISD & Canadian Garrison suppliers from whom I purchased some of my kit from. All the items I purchased were top notch and greatly helped in my overall appearance, fitment, and approval. I'm going to list them again because they deserve the credit. I am very lucky to have a spouse that OK'd such a somewhat odd and expensive hobby; not to mention all the hours I've spent over the past year in my basement making plastic spaceman parts, coming to bed smelling like E6000 and ABS (dust), and requesting countless armor fittings and pictures (we've taken 624 pics to date!). It's been a long journey and we're both very proud of the awesome piece of Stormtrooper armor we've created/assembled. It was by dumb luck that I was able to capture both Expert Infantryman #500 and Centurion #200. Surprised and Honored to say the least. Anyways, after texting my wife that I'd been approved as #200, I returned home from work to this... Sometimes life is just too damn good. Thank you all and keep up the good work you are already doing! I feel very proud to be part of the 501st, the FISD group, and the select few of EI's and Centurions!

  11. Germain, I just noticed you are the "Accuracy Hag". Nice!
  12. You make a good point Germain. I'm making some straps right now and will post up some new new pics. Thanks for the suggestion,
  13. So, it's time that I follow up on my own build page. I had to revise a few things to make Expert Infantryman and Centurion (awaiting approval , fingers crossed), so I thought I'd catalog them here. Reduced the gap between my back and kidney plates. Revised the shape of the cutout in my holster. Reduced the gap between my shoulder bells and the shoulder straps. Blend (with abs paste) my kidney shims. Redo my shin cover strips on the front as mine were undersized. Add straps between my forearms and biceps to correct fitment issues Great advice & direction was provided by the review team and others already approved. I appreciate it and I thank you. My armor looks killer. Below are some pics of the revisions... Thanks for all the Help folks! And thanks for viewing my post!
  14. Thanks Joseph! And yes, I already have an ABS reinforcing strip on the inside. It should be rock solid now! Thanks for the suggestion!
  15. Let me know if I should take some new full armor pics showing all the changes.
  16. It looks like my armor has started to yellow already! My ABS paste is a little whiter than my kidney plate. I'm pretty happy with my first real abs adventure. Pics below...Let me know what you think...
  17. Thanks Andrew. I've done a test with the abs paste and will be attempting the real deal today. I've remade my shin cover strips and have re-aligned my shoulder bells (moved a snap location). Below are the pics for those fixes. When I get my paste laid, sanded and buffed, I'll take another few pics and post them up.
  18. Thanks for the quick review Tony. Yeah, I'm a little bummed that I've got to rework some things, but you're right, it'll be better in the end. I want to stay away from painting the entire kidney plate (bondo & putty are out), so I'll be moving forward with the abs paste method. I'm a little concerned on how much sheet abs cuttings I've got left to make new coverstrips for my shins. Time to check my bin. I'll submit new pics when I'm done making white dust and have everything re-assembled. Wish me luck!
  19. I still have to take a picture of my new shoulder bell positions, but here are a couple of my reworked kidney plate. I've created a groove and caulked it, finishing it with some gloss white paint. Please let me know what you think. I might hit the joint again with some more gloss white paint if OK'd by you. If my caulking solution is not acceptable, I'll move on to a more involved solution. As for my shin cover strips, they measure between 16.5 and 15mm in width depending on where I measure. Please let me know if this slight deficiency will impact my Centurion application/approval. I'll post up pics of my shoulder bells on the weekend. Thanks again.
