  1. I also gotta close up the kidney to ab gap. I think i need to remake those elastic straps and put some tension on them. Or, move my snap plates in a touch. I would prefer not to dance with the Rebel sewing machine again.
  2. So, it's been a while I know. I've been busy making snaps plates and straps. Oh, and enjoying the summer sun! Time for another test fit. The pics are with snaps holding one side of the strapping and tape holding the other side. I already see in the pics that I have to bring the sides of the kidneys in (water bath time), and lower my belt on my ab plate. I've also got to figure out a way to keep my butt inline and minimize the gap between the butt and the kidney plate. Please have a look at the pics and let me know if everything is sitting correctly. Also, do I have the correct shoulder bells on the correct shoulders? I think I do. Let me know as I want to make it right!
  3. Nice Kal, I picked up the same AP kit! There's probably a master list of stuff you need somewhere here on FISD (maybe someone more senior on the forum will chime in), but I'll list off some stuff I can think of off the top of my head. While you wait for your kit, you might as well order in some TK boots, helmet padding or hard hat liner, S-Trim for the helmet, correct mic tips, 3 tubes of E6000 glue, make sure you've got a sharpe knife, a long straight edge for cutting, an E11 blaster (kit), some white industrial velcro, helmet fan kit, voice amplifier kit, flexible hand guards, original strapping kit or a bunch of snaps, neck seal, white belt, black undersuit, inner drop boxes and some small hobby paint cans of the colors you'll need. Don't forget sandpaper and patience!
  4. Awesome Pics! The group pic is perfectly lit.
  5. Looking Good Marx. Two critiques ... your rounded corners on your belt should be 45 degree bevels. The edges of the drop boxes shouldn't pass the edge of the (plastic part of the ) belt. I just completed my belt as well.
  6. Set up a free Photobucket account, upload your pics there and then you can link to them here in the forums. I think there might even be a tutorial somewhere here in FISD. Good luck! And great choice with AP. I'm getting close to wearing mine with no blue painters tape. 😀
  7. Your Armor looks Great. I'd recommend maybe adding some foam on the inside of you left thigh (outer thigh at the bottom) to keep it centered on your leg and more inline with your shin/knee plate.
  8. Gloves saw a little glue yesterday. A bottle of wheel wax had the perfect curvature to it and fit nicely in the gloves.
  9. Sacrificed a pair of my wife's socks for pouches in my drop boxes. A little Velcro to secure them and to keep the boxes closed and my belt is good to go!
  10. I'm going to make the space in the drop boxes usable for keys etc. Idea stolen from another FISD build.
  11. Sewing machines must have been a Rebel invention. Evil things they are. I had to use use some FORCE to guide my hands and patience.
  12. Using the paint stick and heat gun method from here on FISD, I gave my belt some shape. I inverted the paint sticks in this picture. i used them so the warp in the paint sticks helped round my belt.
  13. Thanks Airborne. My kidney plate arrived with no return edge on the bottom. I'm hoping the belt will hide that seam.
