  1. I would put it into a rock tumbler with polishing medium, like people who poliish stones.
  2. AP is one of the fastest makers in the scene. Good work! and looks great.
  3. I personally HATE the SDS e-11
  4. That is a very accurate overview. Well done.
  5. one of the other thoughts you might consider is printing the mold!
  6. I simply would use the Same parts manufacture in shape and connection as the originals. The shoulders and yoke appear to be separate parts to allow the shoulders to move. Molding the armor is a 3 stage process. First you build and paint your armor part 3d print and sand to make the surface correct. Then after you have finished detailing the mold master you have to cover the 3d print in a mold material from the outside. A hard shell is applied after that. Remove the original mold master from your prepared mold. Fill mold with Resin for the surface. then when cured add a layer inside with resin and fibre mix. After the part has come out of the mold, paint the inside and the outside. Wetsand and wax.
  7. This guy has metal parts http://shpws.me/LZRh
  8. When you re size the biceps you should be able to save some of the material for cover strips. I would get some plastic for sale signs to help you make inner strips first. The hard part is finding the correct color plastic to cut and put outer strips on the legs and forearms.
  9. There is no grey that I see?
  10. yep.. it depends upon the type you are making.+
  11. For the ROTJ you cannot use the doopy do kit. CFO cast from original has some amazing kits. Here is my photogallery of screen used blasters. www.e-11blaster.com
  12. For physical parts that won't stay in place I use a piece of plastic as a buffer on both sides of a wood clamp made of metal. a screw clamp once in place will keep ab button plates flush with just the right amount of pressure. Spring clamps do not really allow for the exact tension needed.
  13. The Fisd is the curator for the library. As a shortcut, the complete EIB listing, the Centurion listing, and the CRL should be completely represented in the CRL. If any data is inaccurate, then we've wasted our time and efforts to complete a detailed dataset. Telling people to wade though the thousands of posts for basic information is NOT the way this detachment should run. I personally note the lack of shoulder bell straps on the ESB photograph model. On some suits I'm sure the elastic pulled off, and some of the ESB suits were reconditioned with straps mounted higher up on the shoulder bells. We have even noted white elastic holding down the rear of some suits in empire. So as any new information surfaces, we should in due course update the CRL. Oh and BTW troopermaster has given me a like for a post in this thread! Amazing! I thought paul didn't like me! LOL! j/k.
  14. I personally believe that the CRL should be the complete GO TO LIST. isn't that what a library is for? Otherwise it is misleading and flawed from the outset. A complete waste of time.

  16. Actually the special edition used shots done far after the original film. In the original film the suits were all designed by brian muir and liz moore. The first 6 suits pulled were created at elstree studios, under the guidance of brian muir, and Tashy Bains was the person forming the plastic. Those 6 suits were then set up as Sand Troopers, Taken to tunisia, and filmed. They were then cleaned up and used on the death star scenes with the suits pulled by Ainsworth. During the special edition There was a lot of re-shooting and litte add in's. Overall Star Wars, the original trilogy, the video games, and the newest variations allow for a lot of different looks, and paint styles. The FISD certainly has a lot of cool choices.
  17. The silver tube comes from the old FX kit. The tube is 1138 grey in the films.
  18. no lights in the film. No lights on a replica costume. If you add lights or sound to the TK outside the film. then it's not a stormtrooper.
  19. No LED LIghts! NOO NOO NOOOOOOOO
  20. The provost marshall certainly can remove posts from the thread without locking them. I vote the thread be cleaned up, and kept open. It's kinda fun watching plastic spacemen show molds, and debate.. healthy debate is what we're here for. Nice work boss! I mean who doesn't want to see the wooden molds... and the aluminum molds too! Well more pics!
  21. I'd like to say one thing here. No person has the right to make and sell replicas of any Star Wars property EXCEPT the license holders. Quit acting like you have rights just because you created a derived work. And Quit whining about it.
  22. A derived work does not guarantee the release from IP violation. If you hand sculpt a mickey mouse mug with ears... even if you call it mike mouse... you're still gonna get a C&D. The notion that it was hand sculpted to look like a licensed product does not make it legal.
  23. Any more questions?
  24. Vader ordered the entire station to allow the prisoners to escape to allow the homing beacon to function. In fact the homing beacon was still aboard during EP VII if you stun them... you can't follow them to the rebel base. Tarkin: Are you sure the homing beacon is secure aboard their ship?
