  1. Nice! I used to Hunt as well, I would boat as well... but I only have a canoe. It's just fine for me though. I really enjoy brewing my own beer, I started that because I have a hard time finding one I like at the local stores. Lastly, reading. Various types of books, learning something new is amazing. I would play air-soft/paintball alot too, but nobody near me seems to play anymore. That was my favorite pastime in High School, besides sitting with my friends getting a xbox360 glow tan at 4:00a.m.
  2. Gamertag for me as well. Starting from Diablo, Battlefield 1942, and on, CHRIStofff, (of some variation of) was it. Then I was unable to make a new account for Google e-mail one day on a bunch of tries of different numbers after the name. So, I went with my name without any vowels. It's never taken which is great!!
  3. Well at least you can still have freedom of speech in your own house, (as long as nobody else is home, and nobody else can hear you). Unfortunately, if you offend yourself while talking in the mirror, then you can sue yourself. Maybe even get a nice settlement to pay for a vacation. That's my view on that. Very few people know what you're talking about I'm sure. I feel as though most comments will come back to this either irrelevant to what your purpose was, or negatively. Good luck to you either way. Oh, and I have heard of places fining employees for what they say/do. I can see a purpose to it, but it doesn't mean I like it either.
  4. End of this thread. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/1527-rt-mod-armor-history/ or, trooper7@shaw.ca There is a LONG waitlist, which is why I'm going with AM. My Christmas present from my wife, (and to myself). DarkCMF gave me that e-mail address and he seems to be a very realible, and helpfull source for info. RT-Mod also has a website that you can look at, but I can't seem to find it at this time.
  5. Millennium Falcon Yeah! They've replaced the satellite dish that was knocked off by a new one!
  6. Yeah I noticed it as well. I loved that strange noise when I was a kid pretending to play HOTH in winter.
  7. I've read those books, and many others. It would be great if they keep to some of the existing stuff, but it would be cool to have something new as well. As far as Wookieepedia goes, it will be very confusing to keep the timelines straight once people start writing books about the new movies. and Whoa everybody, just because he was in a suit doesn't mean he is a TK. Han and Luke were in TK's.

    Are we weird?

I'm only 23, and my school days were most likely different than most of yours. I've been a Star Wars fan my entire life and it has always been ok. I've never been picked on for it, and never really had a problem. I think the whole "hipster" thing has softened up the general population with nerd stuff for sure. In some ways, (unfortunatley not all), it seems like some of the anit-bulling stuff is working. It seems though that many "hipsters" aren't genuine with thier Star Wars, DR. Who, or Rolling Stones T-shirts. It's fine with me, it only shows more support, and seems to allow others to be who they want to be in public. Maybe it's the people I've surrounded my self with, is the reason why I've never seen meanness towards nerds. Maybe it's my personality, I'm usually outgoing and don't generally care what many people think. When I told my family, and in-laws, and friends what I wanted to do, they were all supportive. I did find myself though rationalizing it to others with all the charity work the 501st does. It probably makes it hard to make fun of charity, when the aggressors audience will look down on the person for making fun of charity. We are wierd. My sister still makes fun of me. When we were younger (4-7yrs) I used to tell her I would take showers with Princess Liea. HAHA!
  9. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28304-how-much-can-i-realistically-expect-to-pay-to-finish-my-stormtrooper-costume/ Well, turns out I don't know how to do that. But maybe if you copy/paste it. There are a few other threads like it as well.
  10. TheCrazyKid There is a thread in here that someone put with an awesome, broken-down list of all the things most people need to make a suit. Pretty much $1,000 was the minimum amount spent total. I'll try to find it again and post a link here.
  11. Maybe we should take our E-11's out to some watermelons and find out!
  12. Any of you guys watch the CLone Wars animated seriers? The Ones have much more power in the force. To the point where weapons are pointless, and they can put down a lightsaber with thier fingertips. I just hope It clings to at least some of the already existing plots in the novels that take place after ROTJ. But, since the main characters from ROTJ are old(er), it may be thier offspring, or thier grandchildren as the main protagonist.
  13. ok, so it's a blaster "bolt". as in a physical object. For Some reason I've always imagined it as a blaster shot of super-concentrated light/laser, or some kind of plamsa. If it was that, wouldn't it spread out once it hit a person, or almost as soon as it entered the body, (that sounds awful). Much like the way a lead slug spreads out once entered the target. But maybe the armor would work if it wasn't a physical bolt, and the armor could absorb and spread out the incoming whatever. Either way, the armor doesn't work against slow-medium speed rocks.
  14. Congradulations! I'm getting my AM next month, and this has been very helpfull with planning. So you can't have the extra holes, but it can be not solid gray so it still makes a sperate tooth, but not the hole? Either way, it looks really good. I noteiced that one some of the pics from the movie the teeth numbers varied.
  15. Thanks for putting this up. Looking forward to mine build starting in December. It's been great seeing the problems I may have in the future and watching you work through them. Congratulations!
  16. I was a 90's kid. But it all started with my Uncle's X-Wing and Tie Fighter, from when ANH came out. I remember I would push the connections on the Tie and the wings(?) solar foils? would pop off! Because thats what Tie Fighters were good for. Most of my Star Wars stuff wsa trashed, (not my choice), including my AT-AT! I know my daughter would love it today, but oh well, still have all my Legos though. Anybody know what the Tie Fighter wings are called?
  17. Thanks for the great build, waiting until December to get my AM armor. I'll be keeping an eye out here for other problems you may have. Are you from Buffalo Rystan? I'm from Rochester, just wondering. When I spoke to a guy from Garrison Excelsior he didn't know of anybody that AM yet
  18. Lucky me, my wife is a dog groomer and we already have a dremel! Thanks, I did realize I had almost no tools, and will push up the price up a bit. This is very informative, getting soft parts while saving up to December to make my AM armor purchase.
  19. Thanks alot for showing an AM build! I have been looking at these, and It's great to see them on people before the trimming it done. great to get an idea of how much extra space there is with AM. Already been in contact with the AM makers, and looking forward to placing my order in December. I'll keep watching here to see any problems you may encounter along the way. Good luck!
  20. I agree Daetrin, lives are cheap. Especially stormtroopers!
  21. Ok Gizmo. Neither party gets what they want in a compromise, but it looks good to third parties. There will always be opposition, the powerful push as much as they can until it causes unrest, then pull back a bit. That's just the way humans need to be dealt with, because we are not good enough to rule ourselves, but we do our best. To think of terrorism that way would make everything seem like terrorism, going to prison for murdering somebody. People need to fear at some level to retain order. Politics need to sound like individuals being heard to work, but it doesn't work that way. The public only effects government if something bad happens. We are unfortunately a reactive government when it comes to our own public. I'm not for it, but technology advances best when a people are trying to be better than another. Whether it is in preparation for war, or just to be superior. Many countries were at their best when led by a king, emporer, or dictator.
  22. Yeah, but thing get done under a dictatorship good or bad. No politics to slow down the process. Don't want to sound like Hayden Christianson there, but it works, not for me but it does.
  23. One of the guys on Endor who got to shoot an Ewok... Then surprise the rebels at the base, rebel scum. Then eventually get hit in the helmet by slow moving rocks and die.
