WARNING TO ANYONE ASSEMBLING RS PROPS PVC ARMOR!

ouch! -
I put velcro on the clip tabs so that they basically get sandwiched in between the canvas belt ends. Gotta remove the belt to get the TD off.

Lookin good sir! Sent from my ComLink -
It's not just FX... I've actually been told that my AM armor is cr@p. So has another future member who isn't finished yet. Unfortunately you encounter people like this in any area of interest, not just 501st.

Is it possible to sit while wearing armor
cm325i replied to SD Bolts Trooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Sometimes people will separate the cod from the rest of the ab plate. The seam is hidden under the belt and might make it easier to sit. I've actually been thinking about doing this. Example here. -

Flat film lenses on your bucket ( how did you do it? )
cm325i replied to Veeds's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Right side looks good. Left side looks a little low. I don't think it's too terrible tho... unless you're OCD. Overall build is great! -
My MTK build thread.( ANH Stunt)
cm325i replied to Polar's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
It looks like the thigh ammo pack is mounted a little high. The rivet needs to be in the top corner. I tried to find a reference pic.... Maybe someone has quicker access to a photo. Otherwise it looks awesome! -

This article is right in line with the documentary "The People vs. George Lucas." I highly recommend giving it a watch. I believe it's on Netflix right now. Thanks for sharing! -
Those look great! Is it relatively light weight? My resin build was feelin very heavy at the end of my last event.

Build goofs that everyone has made

Did you realize it was wrong that night or discover it the next morning? -
I built an MTK helmet while waiting for my AM kit. It came with a bucket that I thought about selling, but my GF has been getting into this whole TK/501st stuff. So I built this for her. There are a few things I would have done differently if I could redo this build, but she loves it. The inside is fully finished with the cheesecloth and plastidip treatment complete with pink foam padding! Just wanted to share. Thanks for looking! -----------
-
I did a pretty rough sanding on the interior to give the plastidip something to hold onto. I also used Gaz's cheesecloth method for 2 buckets now. They look great.

I quit 3 years ago. I didn't drink at all for the first few months since I knew I'd want to smoke too. I also read this book. "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. I know self-help books sound corny and I never read them, but this one completely changed my outlook on smoking and quitting smoking. Here's a free PDF of it... and here's a little blog I was asked to write for Livestrong... Good Luck!!

Build goofs that everyone has made
cm325i replied to Tusken RTT's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Messed up the left ear and had to re-order. Cut the s-trim too short and had to re-order. Initially made the forearms and the thighs way too big and had to tear them all apart and re-do. I ordered the canvas belt before the armor arrived and it was too small... had to re-order that as well. At some point I superglued my fingers to the resin E-11 build. Didn't feel so great getting that off... -
My "after the fist troop to-do list"
cm325i replied to cm325i's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Yeah man! I remembered you mentioned those. I picked up a pair and the texture holds the hand plates on great. They kept sliding off the rubber ones. Looks like I'll be on good shape for the next event. Sent from my ComLink -
My "after the fist troop to-do list"
cm325i replied to cm325i's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I have thought about this. I'm trying to think of a way to use one set of suspenders to hold up both the lower torso parts as well as the thigh garter belt.... Unless I just loose the thigh belt and glue those straps under the ab/cod? Then the suspenders would hold it all up. -

great feedback as always. Off to find these new things! -
Well, I've had my first troop and have a new list of modifications to make (besides the shoulder bridges as discussed in my EIB thread). Armor bites=0 - different padding inside the helmet, what I have in there was smashing my face to the inside of the helmet Ordered pad set from Amazon, arrived and installed - new fan set-up. The hand-me-downs weren't doing it and the set up is way too bulky new fan system build and installed - trim more from the tops of the thighs. the height is still a bit of an issue for walking thighs trimmed down - suspenders for the thigh garter. about an hour into it, the thighs were pulling the belt down - baclava to hold the mic in place over my ear - gotta get some fabric gloves. the rubber ones were so hot! got some better gloves (info about them below) - attach the ABS hand guards to the new gloves. the elastic around the hands wasn't keeping them on too well. - potentially look into a cheaper toy blaster that the kids can hold for pics. I was really reluctant to hand over my $100+ built blaster to the kids ordered the Rubies blaster, completely jacked up the paint job and its an ugly piece of junk now. good thing it was only $12. I can clean it off and repaint, just don't have the patience for that right now. - I found myself holding onto the ammo belt to keep pulling all the lower torso armor up. not sure how to address that yet. But it looked cool in the photos! - I had some issues w the iComm set up. I could push to talk and get the little noises every time, but rarely did the system pick up me talking. after several failed attempts, I just went silent. lastly, I had a difficult time getting the blaster into and out of the holster. Fortunately my GF/handler/photographer was around to help out. Maybe the Toy blaster will be easier to use Overall it was an amazing experience! I'm not sure who was more excited to see us.... the kids, the grown men, or the ladies ;-) Apparently I missed a kid who put out his hand for a high 5 and I didn't see. I felt bad but my handler got him over for some photos.
