  1. Yeah. I would try to return it. I'd feel like a schmuck trying to resale it for what I paid for it. Wouldn't want to take someone else for a turn.
  2. Gazmosis you've seen my build. It's weathering! Your attention to detail Tim has me wanting to go ask my doctor for beta blockers or Ritalin or something. Your guys' attention to detail makes me realize how uncooperative my brain can be sometimes. Onward to glory good sir!
  3. Hell. This only cost $3500 and was probably an infinitely better purchase: http://www.highsnobiety.com/2013/02/12/star-wars-carbon-fiber-stormtrooper-helmet/
  4. I know it's probably not the case but I would hope if one were willing and able to spend $15,000 on a bucket one would also have spent the time researching the purchase. If someone does buy it I should hunt them down. I have a ROTJ Darth Vader children's belt I'd be willing to part with for a grand.
  5. His Dora costume looks legit... LOL.
  6. Why is it always Dallas or Houston? There are other IT hubs in the country... Ah well.
  7. I'm just dumbfounded at all the builds I've been watching on here. Not the least of which is yours T-Jay!
  8. My jaws on the floor Aaron. Absolutely fantastic!
  9. Isn't that the same type of clause that insured that Nod-3 of the ISS wasn't going to be called Colbert despite the popular vote? Best of luck to you and yours though!
  10. Jeff, The problem is you are running around in circles crying wolf but have yet to produce a wolf. You've made unsubstantiated claims than only seem to back them up with emotional appeals and ad homines. Not with evidence which is the only thing that will bring people to your side. Whether it be a court of law or a scientific consensus the only true currency in an argument is publicly verifiable evidence. Your unwillingness to provide that only leaves us with the conclusion that you are conducting a witch hunt for some personal grudge you have rather than for a true belief in the ethics behind replica prop making. Unfortunately for you word travels fast on the web and the hunter often suddenly finds themselves the hunted. That's not a threat. It's a basic fact. You are only going to succeed in assassinating your own character and credibility. Now do me a favor. Turn off your computer or what ever you use to access the web. Go outside or to wherever you find calm, and repeat these next two phrases to yourself until you truly understand them: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." "One should not believe a thing simply because one likes believing it."
  11. BSN=BikerScoutdotNet? Just curious. Sometimes you guys are worse than NASA with the acronyms...
  12. I'm looking forward to it!
  13. Well this naive noob has every intention of making your ESB kit as his next build. It will be a while before I get to it granted. But you are totally on my radar. Trolls only know how to troll. The greeblies are looking fantastic BTW!
  14. It won't help too much with removing paint with the tape but I swere by the frog (green tape). As long as you don't dump paint on it I've never had any issues with bleeding under the tape. Just make sure you apply decent pressure when applying.
  15. As someone who is becoming an expert in breaking and repairing his doopy kit I can tell you right now try to save as many pieces of the broken part as you can. Just treat it like a 3D puzzle and than putty, putty, putty! Good luck with it. I know exactly how you feel!
  16. A piece of art my friend. Well done!
  17. Congratulations sir! As a father of three I can tell you in both the real and sarcastic sense your in for a treat.
  18. Since I've only been working on the grip that is all I have planned out paint wise. I have it in my head that the ESB stuff was always crisper and cleaner which is why I probably won't go with the textured paint and will do all my weathering with dry brushing. I still have time to think about it though.
  19. What's interesting is my wife and I have been having a debate about the timing on the paint layers. I was initially going to to go with the timing your using but she insists that I'm supposed to let each layer set completely before moving on to the next (she is the trained artist in the house). I wonder if the problem with the outer layer pulling up the inner is just with the crincal paint. I guess I'll know soon enough though I haven't decided yet if I'm going with a textured finish or not. It's looking great Tim!
  20. What size are the numbers? The only thing I can think of with rotating numbers like that would be a water meter. Perhaps you might find one at a flea market or something though since they are usually municipal property I don't know if you obtained one if it would be entirely legal...
  21. Tim thanks again for this detailed build thread! I ordered my kit yesterday and will probably use yours as a master thread (while using others as supplements of course). It's been great "watching" you work.
