  1. So, here is what I'm hearing: 1. Remove butt join requirement for L3 for biceps & thighs. 2. Actually mandate overlap for L3 (as that is what they did) Is that right? Also, I'd like to finalize these ASAP as MEPD is in the last bits of completing the sandtrooper version of this kit, and the L2/L3 should match (yes, I'm the editor).
  2. Right now the CRL just says "black". Perhaps we should say on the CRL that it should be satin or matte?
  3. So, I just spent the past hour or so of the holiday getting these CRLs reformatted to use templates and I think I got all the feedback in. If not, lmk. Whew! On the plus, any changes now mean changing one file, not 3.
  4. The ROTJ one is going to MEPD actually.
  5. Thanks Chris - I think you may be right. I'm trying to remember how that got added (might just be copy/paste from ANH). Maybe Glen (eagle eyes) or one of the DO's can chime in too.
  6. Excellent detail work - thanks guys
  7. There is a reason that TE is one of the few banned members on FISD, for constantly and continually recasting his old molds (after selling said molds), lying about it, and then also taking people's money and not delivering. The flame wars between him & GINO were epic to watch, but were another contributor. OK, so two reasons he's banned for life from FISD.
  8. That would be awesome - thanks!
  9. I'm heads down most of today, but will update this tonight in the CRL to be more specific.
  10. Yeah, that's certainly true. This is why I want to check with the LMOs. It's kinda like the TKC/ICN and a light saber - you can get it by playing as that character type, but it took some debate as if we should. At least you can get it that way in the game. For R1 we really don't know, and the game may or may not be considered canonical. Here is my guess: 1. We will allow a telescoping baton as we can't say it's *not* one on the movie. 2. We won't add L2/L3 points for it unless in a game or similar we see one with a telescoping rod, or there is a still, or some other evidence. It would be pretty bad to require one at L2/L3 and then one of the 501st members who was in the movie, or knew someone in the movie, found out it wasn't.
  11. Interesting. This is a great find, and I can see this being changed if the LMO is OK with us taking it from the game. I would think though for maybe L3?
  12. I believe that to be a true statement.
  13. Woo-hoo! Looks awesome
  14. Yeah, I like this too. I tried anti-fogging solution once on an older helmet and couldn't see crap. Worst. I have next to nothing in my helmet and there is a tiny gap at the bottom which you really can't see. Very much helps with airflow.
  15. You could, but its acidic. I'd suggesting using black wash or woodland scenic paints. Some people like acrylic better, but I prefer to build my weathering up and also that it's easier to wipe away mistakes.
  16. Yup, which is why they are as good as we can have them with the material we have.
  17. Yup, but we have other sources like the toys, etc. It's quite possible it may change once the movies come out. Thank back to the EP2/EP2 clones - those early suits are totally unusable today. Look at the early build FOTKs too that were made before the movie. It's not 100% binary - I'm not saying we don't consider behind the scenes shots for details - because we do - what I'm saying is that the behind the scenes shots are used to fill in and support screen caps, not override them.
  18. Actually it's all about movie clips. The reality is that the CRLs are based on what you see on screen, not prop replication.
  19. Man, I need to do this. How big a tub did you buy?
  20. Well deserved! This is one of those situations where "The DL helps those who help themselves". Brad, this was your idea, you took the initiative to pitch it to me, you supplied fantastic photos ready to go. Makes is really easy to do the right thing. Congrats - you earned it
  21. You guys do realize that you can recommend changes, right? And that L1 isn't meant to be 100% accurate?
  22. That would make a cool motorcycle set of leathers if it were done right.
  23. Sweet! Thanks for posting.
  24. I do indeed - you look great!
  25. Alas, crap to get old. I'm one of those people who uses a different set of glasses for reading as I do for distance. When I used HoloLens, I used my distance glasses and found that worked better for me, though it seemed counter-intuitive at the time. I guess the other option would be to have a lower screen so people with bi-focals can look down to read an up to see far.
