Awesome.

Awesome. Looking forward to more pics! You should at least take a look at the advanced standards to decide if you'd like to go for them. They are easier to build into the armor, than to add on to the armor. Just food for thought.

Yes. Good point Steve. I didn't mean to imply that anyone should rush or be rushed for the purpose of achieving or getting closer to the goal during this timeframe. I suppose I'm just trying to remind our TKs to find someone that they know is close and help them along. 300 doesn't really seem possible in five months by relying on new builders receiving, completing, and getting approval with their kits in order to submit. The bulk if that will have to come from current TKs.

Build is looking good Christian! Keep at it. Are you building to EIB/Centurion standards? They're not that hard to achieve if you do it from the beginning!

AM 2.0 build (ANH Stunt) by Rystan
Dark CMF replied to Rystan's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Good build so far, Mike. Even in the face of some difficulty you're working it out and doing research. Definitely bodes well for your final product. Are you building your kit to EIB/Centurion standards? -
Ryan's AM Build!
Dark CMF replied to Shank_O_Potomus's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looking really good so far Ryan! I'm asking all of the build threads these days, so I'm asking you, too: Are you building to EIB/Centurion standards already? I was going to chime in on the cover strip cutting, but Ron and Steve already addressed the score and snap method, so I've got nothing to add. -
There are a lot of other subtle differences between the TKs and TDs... Shoulder bridges, ab buttons, and sniper plates come to mind off the top of my head. Are you building to EIB/Centurion? It doesn't require a lot of extra work if you do it that way from the beginning. Just food for thought.

Looking good, Dean! Very nice work. Bone, if you do some deeper research, you'll find that a different number of tube stripes from the left to the right sides is a common thing.

Hey there John! Just a couple of things to run by you: Have you been using a photo-hosting site to post them in the build, or just posting them directly here on FISD? If you're just posting them here, you'll run out of room very quickly. If you use a hosting site like photobucket, you'll probably have much better luck. And, I have to ask; Are you building to EIB/Centurion standards?
-
Thanks, Evan! Happy to join you - and working to join you in the Centurion ranks as well! Thanks, Nick. I did use it at a very humid baseball game without the tubing. Early on in the evening it did a fine job, but as the night went on it got more humid, and we wound up moving from AC to outdoors environments quite a bit which caused it to have to fight harder to keep the fogging down. I think that the tube extension(s) will probably help it keep up. I have not worn my armor since that game, but the RomFX definitely is working better with the new settings when I put on the helmet and run around talking with it.

Biceps for Big Guns
Dark CMF replied to 71CobraTrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Bradley what type of kit are you building? Have you looked at the EIB and Centurion standards yet? It's worth going for them during your build, and not that much extra work to do really. As for the return edges on the biceps... No need for them. Additionally if needed, you can always use slightly wider cover strips to build yourself some extra space into the biceps! -
For the record, the Empire was not a dictatorship for most of it's existence. It wasn't until ANH that Grand Moff Tarkin declared "The imperial senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I have just received word that the emperor has dissolved the council permanently." So... Even though Palpatine had been in place for nearly thirty years as the Emperor, he still had and utilized the Senate until it reached a level of ineffectiveness that led him to do away with it permanently.

Just happened to get another look at this thread (as I'm ramping up for my EIB submission right now) and realized that we've got some work to do as a detachment, in order to reach this goal. We're just about 2/3 of the way through this year, and have only added about 50 EIBs. I'm not sure what the "normal" annual submission/approval numbers are but clearly, we're going to need another 300 in the next five months, to get to 700... I'm still aware of several builds which are underway that are planning on building to Centurion, but we've got to find more Troopers to get across the line. What kind of blitz can we pull off during this final stretch? Let's get this goal achieved!!!

Looks great Ronny, nice work!

Greetings Wendy, and welcome!! I see both threads that I was going to link you to have already been shared with you here, so yeah... Diana and Ericia. Follow those two, do your research, ask questions as you go. You'll be alright. That's the best advice I can give you, as I'm not a little short for a Stormtrooper myself.

Got the armor picked need help with accessories
Dark CMF replied to Evan T's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
As others have mentioned, this hobby typically doesn't happen overnight. I received my 501st approval on Saturday. I began the journey just about a week shy of a year ago now. Research, questions, and taking advice are definitely good ways to get through the wait times more efficiently. -
I received my RT-Mod kit on 10 June, so less than sixty days ago. I'm fairly certain that I can say that I still have the current RT equipment (unless Rob has updated it in the last two months) and I can confirm both a TD and drop boxes/full inner drop boxes are included. I measured the TD (assembled) and it comes in at just over 7.5" long and just over 2.25" across on the end caps. It does not come with clips, as it includes an ABS "mounting plate" that you could put on the back of the TD, but that is not screen accurate. You can buy the metal used to make the clips 1/8" by 1" aluminum strips at Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace, etc... For less than $12 and use a vice to bend them around the canister before you sand and paint it, as doing so will scratch up your canister (Here is a "how-to" made by TK-LEPER that shows how to make the clips: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/14283-how-to-make-thermal-detonator-belt-clips/).

They most certainly don't, Paul. LoL. Thank you.

Well, hopefully that con is attended by Legion members and their mere presence causes a lot of questions about the legitimacy of said costume. Yikes is right!

Well, I've got the blue and the white one, so it should be a few more years before I need another one. Wife is recovering. Ups and downs (C-Section) so she's taking her meds like a good mommy. I'm just praying that she is well enough to be up and about regularly when I go back to work on Monday. (Thanks for asking, btw!) How's the Walt household doing in recovery/adjustment?
-
Thank you, everyone! We're slowly (once again) adjusting to life with a baby in the house. LoL
-
Thank you Damon, Sean, and Tim! It is truly an awesome feeling to see your name on the main page of the 501st Legion website as a new recruit! Of course, as soon as that happened, I immediately started thinking of exactly what I still have to do in order to do my EIB submission. Tim, I'm sure that you won't be too far behind me!

This particular activity is absolutely normal. Looking good so far!
