  1. Ugh... Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the troop. Travel arrangements are proving to be entirely too chaotic because of my authorized travel dates. I would still love the opportunity to meet up for dinner with some of you folks one evening.
  2. As promised in the July newsletter, Here is the E-11 Blaster Reference! Enjoy!
  3. It is very possible that I missed it somewhere in all of the information, but what is the material that you used for your gaskets? I've been known to curse out a Singer from time to time, so the thought of sewing them myself isn't all that intimidating, and we've got several kits locally in various stages of build. Having the ability to replicate your gaskets might be a crucial piece to getting our FO TKs up to speed. Thanks for all of the info and great details!
  4. Just a friendly reminder: Any of you who is an approved TK can feel free to submit a Memoir for future newsletters!
  5. Are you trying to find audio files, or have both systems functioning at the same time?
  6. Congratulations to all of the Advanced Tactics Awardees! Thank you for representing the Detachment so honorably and well! Excellent work, team!
  7. Also, with regards to Stormtrooper training, the only Canon source that I'm aware of that depicts it is Rebels, when Ezra is undercover in the academy on Lothal. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
  8. Interesting question really. I'm not aware of anything in the EU that addressed it, but I only really read the EU early on. I do have one of the "Centurion" berets that I've worn with my Legion Racing Shirt at Conventions while not in my armor. I'll be watching to see what people come up with.
  9. Not sure as to the exact air date yet. It has been teased as an episode this season though.
  10. For Centurion, a blaster must not be a Hasbro conversion, and must have all of the elements of the "screen used" blasters, assembled properly. I'm with Tino... I'd do whatever I could to eliminate the gap if it were my build. Not sure of the composition of the switch, but could the "post" be cut down or dremelled down about a 1/4 of an inch? It is indeed a very cool modification idea, and if it has been seen before, it certainly isn't common, but getting it to look right will take it to the next level.
  11. Industrial Velcro. All the way around. LoL. For my setup, there are only three batteries for the EAS, and the mic is wired so the 9V is strictly to run the ROM/FX overall. All of my wiring is hidden behind the bracket for my Echo fans.
  12. Okay, thanks! Good info.
  13. I don't know about everyone else, but I had that moment as well. LoL All those parts, never done it before. I definitely considered just gluing it together.
  14. Hey everyone... I've found a couple of cool apps that I thought I'd share with you. The first is called Donate A Photo. Each day, you can share one picture using the app, and Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to a charity that you choose from the list of participating ones. The other is called Charity Miles. Whether you run, walk, or ride a bike, you can earn money for charities while you do it. I've started a team there called StormtroopersRunningForReasons. Feel free to download the app, and join the team. Together, we can make lives better for others, just by doing things we normally do anyway. What's better than that?

  15. Kit, are you talking about the top of the torso, behind the chest plate?
  16. Very cool indeed! Can't wait to see this one progress.
  17. 40-50??? Wow. Let me say that it is possible, but I may owe Mrs. Dark pretty seriously if I do. I'll work on it though. We'll see. I'd love to do it, and my kit fits in a hardshell suitcase. Might need a place to crash on Saturday night though if this happens, and possibly a ride to the airport.
  18. I've got an EAS, Echo fans, UKSWRATH's Hovi tip speakers, and a Rom/FX All installed in my helmet. If I use the Hovis, there are no wires in my neck seal, and everything is contained in my helmet. In the picture below, you can see most of the installation. This was taken during the Hovi Speaker installation, that's what the wires are hanging in the picture. You can see he EAS green speakers, and the Echo fan batteries up higher, and on the left, the EAS board, it's batteries, the Rom/FX battery and the Rom/FX board from L to R. Beneath all of that, you can see the Echo fan bracket.
  19. That's exactly what I'm thinking, too...
  20. Hey everyone, I'm curious if anyone has done any downsizing of the kit yet? If not, does anyone have any ideas about sensible places to cut each of the parts to fit. As there will be seam filling and paint, there's probably a good amount of latitude for resizing, but you'd obviously have to maintain the lines and shapes of the parts so it looks correct. Any input would be greatly appreciated, as I haven't seen any of it happen yet. Thanks!
  21. Krista, Would it be similar to the way that the shins closed in the OT TKs, only without the hooks? Just elastic bands glued on the sides of the top piece, to the forearm insides to allow for expansion when putting them on or taking them off? Does that make sense? Thanks.
  22. Thank you, so much, for sharing this Pickles! I'm coming up on my First Anniversary very soon, but seeing this truly warms my heart. I think we all wind up surprised at the secondary benefits that you don't think about when you're researching and doing nothing else for months, and that is the friendships you make, the people you meet, and the lives you touch. It is wonderfully reassuring to see that you're still as excited about it all after three years, as I was when I first got started.
  23. Like Todd said, the gaps at the elbows and knees will be the biggest challenges I'd expect you to have. Creative strapping will help to offset that though. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You certainly wouldn't be the first TK in the Legion with a little extra black showing, if that's what it comes to. Shimming is usually necessary when the armor doesn't fit around your waist, arms, or legs. Based on your size, I can't anticipate that shimming will be a need for you.
  24. Duty calls, and I'll be visiting your sector (Ft. Belvoir area) during the first week in August. I should be arriving on the 3rd, and departing on either the afternoon of the 7th or the morning of the 8th. I'd certainly be interested in and happy to get together some time over a lunch or dinner, dependent upon what my schedule and travel options look like while I'm there. I'm still unsure if I'll have a car for this trip but I've never been to the area outside of a on hour rain delay on a runway at Reagan once upon a time. If anyone local cares to try to meet up, please let me know!
