1. Hey!!! Not sure if you've all see it yet or not, but the #ForceForDaniel movement that has been going around just got answered. Daniel Fleetwood just got done watching an unedited version of The Force Awakens. He received a phone call from JJ Abrams yesterday, telling him that some people were bringing the movie to his home near Houston, TX this afternoon. Star Garrison will be trooping his home on Saturday, to present him with honorary membership in the Garrison. I'm not going to be able to attend, not sure if Clint will be there or not, but I believe that Andrew (Fuumantroop) will be. I will see if we can secure some pictures from the troop. This is Fanboys come true. Amazing story...
2. I'm only a little bit further along than you are. You've got this!
3. Mine are exposed. All of them. I've been trooping like that for almost a year and a half, and have never had any snags. This doesn't mean that you'd have the same experience though, as it all depends on how tightly your armor fits you. Duct tape or sticky-backed Velcro will work just fine to protect the area though, if you feel that you need to do so. Congratulations on nearing the completion of your build. Exciting times for sure!!
4. It's probably a perfect time to contact Rob (RT). He usually fills his annual lists up ahead of time, and that's it for the year. I contacted him in April of 2013, and was approved in my RT kit in April of 2014. He's a great guy to do business with, and makes a very nice kit. If you have any questions before you potentially order from him (or go on his wait list really - because he'll have one) shoot me a PM, and I'll help you out as best as I can.
5. Wow.... Well, I'll give in spirit this year. LoL Totally missed this post, and per the norm, you've got to be quick to get in on the action. Well done, FISD!!!
6. Heh... In fact, the latest ANOVOS update email shows a picture of the AB plate without the button plate on it, so you can build it as a TD, or any of the TK variants.
7. Mine isn't quite ready for that just yet. One day perhaps. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
8. Well, I guess I'd better get there and congratulate you again! Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
9. Hahaha... Simple fact of the matter is that it was my wife. The problem was that whenever our son went to the house to trick or treat, the majority of the adults at the house wanted to come down to the sidewalk for pictures, and so my presence sort of took away from his experience. However, I think that he had a great time just the same. LoL Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
10. I would LOVE to wear my TK again, but I've been advised that I "really, really, should not do so" because last year it was such a distraction for all of the adults in the neighborhood, and took away from the boy's experience.

Not sure what is happening this year really, as a result of that conversation.
11. Sorry I missed this one when posted, but family and life and all that... BEAUTIFUL build... Just Beautiful. Congratulations on an award very well earned, and welcome to the ranks. Don't wait too long in submitting your Centurion! You're practically there already!
12. Sad Face... I know he loves to write stuff. LoL
13. Six Hail Vaders, and five Palpatine Creeds. Then, get back to work!
14. So Eric, are we making LDR do something for this one, too?
15. Thank you gentlemen!

Welcome to the Staff. Excellent choices both, to be sure.

(They do know that now that it has been publicly announced, they can't back out, right?)

Troopers Helping Troopers!!
16. Thankyou, Q. One step ahead of me.
17. I just thought about this as well...

The "cut 10mm off each part" is probably a good general rule, but the key is to ensure that the cover strips are the proper width, and then cut each "overlap" piece so that it is half of the width of the cover strip that will go over it. (EDIT: Like Eric said. LoL)

Hopefully that makes sense.
18. There are a few things to keep in mind. For starters, I have one of those "OMG, if you drop it, it may shatter!!!" E-11s. The most important thing is the circumstances under which the question is being asked (how old is the kid, how does he or she ask you if they can hold it, etc...") Depending on the event, you may get a lot of kids (typically pre-teen boys in my experience thus far) who ask and say all sorts of crazy things focused on the blasters. "Is that a real gun?" "Can you shoot him/her with it?" "Can I hold it?" For those ones, I'm typically more snarky... Is that a real gun? "Yes, it is an Imperial Issue Blastech E-11 Laser Rifle." Can you shoot him? "No, I can't shoot him... We're not allowed to fire our weapons in public venues on this planet as part of the Imperial Status of Forces Agreement with the local Governments." What if you shoot him on accident? "Right now? With you watching?" Yeah... "Well, if that happened, I'd have to shoot you as well. I couldn't afford any witnesses around. That would mean I'd have a lot of paperwork to fill out." Can I hold it? "You already said that you want this other kid to be shot, and I've already told you that the weapons can't be fired here. I wasn't born last night kid... I know that you'll shoot him, and then I'll be in a lot of trouble. Sorry, that's not happening." Little ones... Far more tricky, especially with some answers that others have already given like "someone else will allow them to do so if you don't" so I always try to stay a step ahead of that game as well. Can I hold your gun? "No, I'm sorry Trooper/Princess... I can't allow you to hold the blaster. I'm sworn to protect you and everyone else here, and I take your safety very seriously. I'd feel very badly if you got hurt by it. I'll tell you what though, how about if we take a picture and I'll protect you for the picture?" (I then kneel and pose like I'm pointing the blaster at the camera (always just past it though, to the left/right/up/down... Just to be safe) Adults... Heh heh heh... Hey Stormtrooper, can I hold your gun? "Hold my weapon? Have you heard that there's a rebellion against the Empire?" Yeah, of course. I... "CITIZEN, I'M PLACING YOU UNDER ARREST FOR TREASON AND SUBVERSION AGAINST THE EMPIRE. ON YOUR KNEES, HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD. NOW!" Of course... Depending on the venue and the event, you've got to play it by ear a little bit.
19. Wait until they actually see and hear it in action! Awesome post.
20. Concur with the previous... That wouldn't be rancid for "simply a Halloween Costume." That would only apply however, if it were priced as "simply a Halloween Costume." No, no, no...
21. As mentioned by Eric and Josh, you can easily do the butt - join build with your kit. My build is indeed done that way. There is a link to my build thread in/under my signature below. If you've got questions, don't hesitate to reach out for help. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
22. Generally speaking, screen captures are the preferred source for CRL references. Screen - used armor(s) is always going to be preferred over other sources for on-screen characters as opposed to drawings, paintings, and figures. As for D23, I'm not personally aware of what was on display there. If you've got viable source photos in support of the CRL development, then post them here so that the work might be able to get started. As mentioned earlier though, I haven't seen for certain that the FISD will own the CRL, though strong arguments could likely be made for it. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
23. Additionally, at this point in time, I have not seen any discussion as to which Detachment will own CPT Phasma. With so few references, that costume will probably need to follow the more standardized process that Q described above.
24. The white crayon works great, and it's very simple to do. It is what I did with my build. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
25. I'm just taking a long-shot sort of guess here, but it looks like it could be an in-line fuse box. Not at all positive though. Good luck with the part!
