  1. Yay :-)..looks good!....brand new by the look of it:-)
  2. Like Glen said, we do make A LOT of noise when we move around anyway (I must say that from a military PoV, that TKs and TDs for that matter are utterly useless as soldiers...noisy, poor dexterity, poor visibility/ many dead angles, poor hearing:-))..but the again we look REALLY cool:-).... I think the taps would just be a niusance to you....:-)
  3. Thanks for the heads up....:-).. Got his contact details?..
  4. A pair of Loakes or Herrings will get you that look...:-).....the yellow tinge can be achieved as well....actualli I think mine looks quite like the ones you have shown....:-)
  5. Ha ha ha "pimp boots"...she does have a point though:-)....hats off to her for being so blunt:-) yeah try that, ruffle some feathers, I am sure it will go down well with the missus:-)
  6. Congrats with the boots buddy:-) Which ones did you aquire?.... That sounds like a fantastic idea for Halloween...we just had a Halloween party here ( Halloween is not a big thing here in Denmark, but gradually becoming more and more popular, it has been popular in our household for the last four 8 years), the wife told me not to be a stormtrooper.... Sounds great about Disneyland!....:-)
  7. Tim!. Buddy:-) No drama whatsoever!...good that you focus on the most important stuff...your family:-) Disney World sounds brilliant, I've only been to Disneyland Paris, but numerous times...love it!....and now that Star Wars has become even deeper into Disney, it will only get better;-) Thank you for the kind words and the congrats! Looking forward to seeing you in your armour!.:-)
  8. I might be able to make one or even use a rear sight from an mg 42, if they are similar...Maybe buy it in the states DoopyDoos do not offer a kit, just talked to Casey yesterday, and the recasting is crazy apparently, so he is not willing to sell kits, which is totally understandable.... Casey though has said he can send me a safety catch, the rear sight is another thing, apparently it is quite flimsy when made from resin, thus making it not too good for trooping....so waiting out for him to get back to me:-)
  9. Posted in another thread as well, these are my Herring Coltham (made by Loake on the 290 last)...they have been worn on three different occasions...think they are holding up quite well:-)
  10. Cheers Paul!.....they definitely do!.:-)
  11. Just figured that I would post pictures of how my boots look after having been worn on three different occasions..
  12. I've been wearing mine on a number of occasions, but the paint does not come that much off..under the shins naturally as the rub against the boots all the time...on the rest there has, for me, been no need to do any touch-ups....I like the slightly weathered look....
  13. If you wipe them down with acetone, and then sand them lightly with fine sandpaper, and then paint them with Angelus leatherpaint...you are good to go...the paint will crack and scuff, but not more than in the films:-)
  14. I would most definetely go with black chelseas and paint them:-)...
  15. Yeah David said it:-)... If you are on a tight budget, and do not mind wearing used boots, then Loakes and some of the others can be found very cheap on ebay.co.uk.......remember hand crafted shoes last litterally forever, they just need resoling once in a while:-)..
  16. Cheers Glen....coming from a great propmaker like you, it really makes me smile:-)
  17. Cheers for that answer Paul..you might be right:-)
  18. Ohh nearly forgot Glen..cheers for promoting the "show your Star Wars tattoo" thread...wish more would share theirs, I am positive that there is lot of SW ink out there on those 2695 TKs:-)
  19. Posting this for my nephew, who is a true SW fan....he is contemplating joining....until then this is his tatt, which is a WIP the finished will include the bountyhunters in the Mondo style
  20. That was as always, very informative Glen, cheers for that!.:-)...and it truly puts thing into perspective for me, who opted for the"easy" solution and had someone, build my armour for me........that being said I myself have also done a lot research, on most matters of this character/costume including armour building, to gain the knowledge of all areas, but, granted, primarily weapons and boots. The reason is that I want to able to be as SA as possible in all parts of my "costume", additionally be able to help other troopers/troopers in the making:-)..(matter of factly i have signed up for the attache program:-)... So I cannot identify with or understand for that matter those who will settle for just the minimum requirements (if time, money and patience is no constraint)..I accept it and respect it ofcourse....:-).
  21. Added my TK number ( yes I am fully aware of the unoriginality).. (Thanx Simpixels for the numbers...) I have gotten my hands on a real row of numbers, from another type of counter, that I am trying to get my head around installing....until now the printed numbers will do fine:-)..
