  1. I sort of " cheated" and ordered a fully built suit from TM..:-). I have all the accessories either here, or in the mail, and I expect the armour to be finished sometime next week. So if all goes according to plan I will forward my " enlistment paperwork" before the end of September.....:-)...
  2. Good luck on it all:-).. And ask if you need help/inspiration....:-)
  3. Nice find!..now all you need is the Doopydoos kit:-)... They btw also carry a cool blaster stand in their inventory.Feel free to ask if the Doopydoos threads aren't sufficient:-)
  4. Actually I did not use the finisher at all:-).... I do not know how much difference it makes....
  5. I think they are a tad, but just a tad, too square compared to the original boots, but they are also rubbersoled, abit too low in the ankle, and too square in the cutoff at the top. I myself prefer boots closer to the originals. They do however not hinder a Centurion qualification.....As the boot criteria "only" are these:"White leather or leather-like, above ankle height, with a flat sole with a short heel, and small U-shaped elastic sections on both sides of the ankle with no buckles or laces. Jodhpur/Chelsea-type boots or an equivalent style is acceptable. Elvis or Mariachi boots are not allowed. There shall be no seam on the front of the boot (e.g. CABoots are not allowed). Boots shall be lightly scuffed."...
  6. Ahaa, an internal joke that I din't get...:-)....
  7. That is a nice one...I have always loved that insignia...:-)...Thanks:-)
  8. I used half of a 3.8 oz bottle for one pair...so I would suggest the 4 oz bottle, then you will also have paint leftover for the touch ups you will need after a troop:-)
  9. Wire thickness 1,8 mm.....and the number of visual coils should be 11-12
  10. I am not sure that the Bass boots are better than TK boots, neither quality wise or appearance wise...but they do meet the criterias, and that is the most important thing. I myself prefer the types I have already (leathersoles, handcrafted), because these boots are very screen accurate, and they are of a very high quality..
  11. I would most definately go for the black boots, and paint them white, and the ones Brenton linked to meet the criterias of the 501st. Do not worry, if you use masking tape, wipe them down with acetone or similar, apply thin coats of paint and carefully paint with even strokes with the brush they will turn out good:-)... And it is just like they did in the films.....:-)
  12. Hey Alexey....:-) the ones that have cracked paint, and that I have now stripped entirely were painted, as a test, with coats of normal shoewhitener and Angelus intermixed ( as described with the pictures).... And that does not work at all.....
  13. Thanks Brent:-)....I reckon that you are referring to the first pair I painted ;-).....I am sure yours will be at least as good..:-)...just paint thin layers with even strokes, that dors not go in every direction....:-)
  14. Hey Brenton...why are you shouting? :-)...and why are you telling me that in Sheik Yerboutis thread?:-)....
  15. Yeah it is good paint, even if it takes 6-9 coats....are you using a brush or a sponge? Yeah! Up the Irons:-)
  16. Ohh another thing..totally love your avatar..(being a Maiden fan myself) :-)
