  1. I totally second what Morten just said, and when you do weathering, be very cautious as to not make it look like it has been painted on (using too much paint at the time)....-)
  2. Nice build, with nice details...(the rod for the folding stock I particularly like ;-))....and the locking mechanism, I´ll probably copy on my own.. Re. the paintjob, I prefer subtle weathering, unless you are a sandy....... but great job!
  3. Roger :-), sounds like a good idea..:-)....looking forward to follow your build thread :-)
  4. Thanks David:-) Glad to hear yours is on the way....what is your time schedule?..finish before Christmas?... All the best on your build!
  5. The wife flat out loved the armour, and demanded I wear it right away, so that she could snap some photos... Love at first sight Even Stormtroopers have to do (their) chores
  6. Vielen dank Daniel :-)... Now that the wait for the armour is at an end the, wait for the application for membership, and subsequently the application for EIB and CEN, to go through can commence:-). I have been in and out of it four times since yesterday, both to get used to it, and decide the best way to put it on, and take it off, but also because i really enjoy it:-)...it is awesome...:-)..
  7. Hmmmm, lets see what happens...luckily. I did not destroy the mic, but just detached the metal thingy.... Looking forward to it!...:-)
  8. I used, and I believe Alexey did as well, a 4 oz bottle. Approximately half of that will be used to paint one pair of boots.. Good luck on the paintjob..:-)
  9. Thank you Scott :-)... All I did with the armour was unpacking it, put it on and adjusting a little here and there....:-)..
  10. Not aiming at correcting you, but I looked quite seriously at RS before choosing TM. Their prices are very close, I think the difference between a fully assembled kit, came down to approx. 150$....so IMHO not a reason to choose one over the other.......:-)
  11. Thanks Glen for the heads up on a possible future " pain in the n...)....we' ll se how it pans out :-)
  12. Thanks buddy.....I am really looking forward to getting that designation...I expect a weeks time from now..:-)..
  13. Spasiba Alexey :-).. Those are very kind words. I am sure you will look great in yours :-).... Thanks again, I am hoping for a quick approval as well.....:-)
  14. Thanks. :-)It actually fits close to perfect......taylormade by TM...:-).....(Taylor Made by Trooper Master).:-)
  15. This is how I mounted my electronics... I used high strength velcro, and it seems to work fine. I detached the mic from the wire, and just velcroed it to the inside of the helmet....works great.. ..only challenge now is to fit the two mounted fans I bought from Echo...it really is a tight fit in that lid....
  16. Yeah I found out...pushing submit twice creates two threads...I am trying to have Locitus remove one of them....
  17. To my knowledge it was down.......but I will not say it defintively....:-).. I made mine bending down..
  18. Looks fine, but I would have the bracket bend down instead of up...:-)
