  1. Looks good - just need to get some covers on the belt attachements.
  2. Definitely take the time to rest up and recover - we'll all be pulling for you.
  3. FX is no longer made - AM is its replacement. And yes, AM does come in black. About the only chance you'll have at finding a black FX armor kit is if someone is selling one secondhand. Best thing to do for that is monitor the For Sale areas at the FISD, Spec Ops, and the main Legion board.
  4. Here's my setup: Left to right: Aker MR1506 speaker/amp w mic ICOMM static burst system IPod Classic (plays a loop of TK chatter) Far right under the shoulder bridge is my earpiece that connects to an FRS radio, mounted in the IIO backplate detail. RomFX works well also and depending on the version you get (Raw, Classic, or Pro) you can use it instead of the Aker boxes (speaker/amp and static burst card), but regardless you'll still need an outside source to play your sound loops. I personally can't say enough good things about the Aker system. It meets all my requirements (which coincidentally were about the same as yours), is readily available, and at a great price.
  5. I tend to agree on this one - visible fasteners should be allowed on the thigh ammo belt without question. However, to maintain consistency with ANH Stunt (which of course has already been voted on), we may need to leave it as is.
  6. Cool - thanks for clearing that up. So it looks like we have at least 3 options for gloves, with the common thread being snowtrooper-style handplates.
  7. Mark, do you have any ESB screen caps or other ESB materials showing stormtroopers wearing rubber gloves as you describe? Not saying that they don't exist, but honestly this is the first time I've heard of it. Pending that, I agree with Christian - fabric gloves with sewn-on handplates at the five pairs of attach points around the perimeter of the handplate. Note that I said fabric - not specifically silk. As Troopermaster put it, silk is an assumption as opposed to a verified fact, and satin would provide the same sheen as silk. As long as they are plain black gloves (no visible lettering, straps, etc.) it ought to fit the bill. Also, should Nomex gloves qualify? And do we specify that the gloves must be short?
  8. Definitely think the video game pack should be allowed, as long as the details are correct and can be verified via screen grabs. As for the launcher - I'm torn on this one. I think at a minimum it ought to be listed as a "should have", i.e. highly encouraged, for Centurion. Mandating it, however, may be a tougher sell as they are not readily available, and the only person I know of who makes them is Mason. Still, if the idea behind Centurion is to be a step up from EI, then perhaps mandating the bazooka falls in line with that.
  9. Welcome - you've taken your first step into a larger world. Seriously, I've had mine for a little over a year, but can scarcely remember life before it. Nor do I want to even consider life without it.
  10. http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=12693 How about posting a bit about yourself over in the New Member Introductions section?
  11. If Officeworks doesn't pan out, let me know. I've got a bunch of extras from a Staples buy. Send me a PM with your address and how many you need - assuming it's only a handful - I'll send you some of mine.
  12. That's how I did mine - glue the inner cover strips in place, let them set, then glue the outer cover strips. I think it makes holding everything together while the glue cures that much easier. I also used scrap plastic for the interior cover strips - waste not, want not. Besides, if they're scratched up or uneven from the trimming process, no big deal since they're hidden anyway. For the exterior cover strips, however, I used the extra ABS strips that came with the kit.
  13. Did you sand and then wash/dry both surfaces before applying the glue? Makes for a stronger bond. Regardless, the next time I would do two things: 1. Leave the E6000 to sit for a good 2 - 3 days. The longer you let is sit undisturbed, the stronger the bond gets. I'd call 24 hours an absolute minimum more than anything. 2. After doing that, leave the clamps and magnets in place on the glued side as you carefully flex the plastic to get the other side lined up for gluing. Apply glue/clamps/magnets, and leave the entire assembly alone - clamps, magnets, and all - for another 2-3 days. Hopefully Pandatrooper chimes in soon - he's a real pro at working plastic.
  14. 501st clearance photos go to your local garrison, specifically the GML.
  15. Topic moved to a more appropriate section - Si-Man is not "TE derived armor".
  16. Not in the least. As was said, it's the external appearance that the 501st is concerned about. What you use inside your helmet (or armor, for that matter) is totally up to you.
  17. Looking at your avatar, can you lower them any further down the chestplate?
  18. The possibilities are wide-reaching, and as varied as the individual wearer. One member actually has a hidden camera mounted in his helmet.
  19. You could also get an eFx - it's basically the MRCE with a black ESB-style frown. A quick Google search should turn up a few vendors.
  20. Is ESB Revisited out? I'd heard it was in work, but hadn't heard that it had been completed? I have ANH Revisited (it's the only version I watch anymore), and I'd love to add ESB Revisited to my library.
  21. It also looks like your left thigh is rotating outward. But yeah, you look great!
  22. With the broken codpiece, how will they cast the abdominal section?
  23. Please keep this thread focused on the Si-Man armor project, thanks.
  24. And if you do use split rivets, I believe you'll also need a special tool to install them. Well, special enough that you won't be able to find it at your local hardware store.
