  1. After around 50 helmets and pairs of ears were cast for the Stunts, the molds were quite worn and damaged, so for the Hero casts, which took place after the Stunts, the molds were softer and had lost some details. That explains the missing teeth and ear bump, and the slightly different overall shape. About the lenses, as the Hero helmets were made for close-up shots, i guess they thought the bubble style had a more SF feeling.
  2. Actually that's the accurate way to do it:
  3. This guy ain't doing much to bring some love towards our fellow ROTJ troopers...
  4. Yes sure, here's my crotch . - Outside: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5595/15158969766_9e9e977b10_b.jpg - Inside, not focused on the crotch area but you can get the idea: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5581/15181665092_5fa1da78c1_b.jpg
  5. Nice duct tape mannequin! It should be very handy when it comes to strapping. I want to make one for ages now, but always keep pushing it back...
  6. Looks like NE shoulder bells are trying to find their way back into the business to me...
  7. I hope it will help you figuring the crotch details:
  8. Usually, the best way to address that is to use the original strapping way, with brackets. They leave some flexibility to the pieces but not as much as the snap plates, and thus they keep everything ligned up very well. Or you can also be a few centimeters taller .
  9. Interesting. We'd be interested in seeing pictures of them once you will have received them.
  10. Oh boy, that... background!! And the armor is nice too . I was pretty much expecting something like that. Superb! There's only that common thing of the butt plate riding over the kidney, which is mostly due to the snap & plate strapping method. Other than that, it's just awesome.
  11. For the shoulder bridges, the straps should be 45mm wide, which makes around 1 inch 3/4. However they should be white elastic and not nylon. For the cod's rivet, it's located here:
  12. For Centurion, you will need them. Dimensions are roughtly 22mm x 22mm (22mm makes slightly less than 7/8 inch).
  13. Good! Everything's on the right spot.
  14. Very nice trim line. Looks like you're going to manage to recreate the accurate inner shape on NE thighs. And that body picture is really beautiful!! A thing you could improve would be to set the belt higher on the abdominal plate, it should be right under or slightly covering the ab button panels. And also you left a lot of return edge around the Sniper Knee Plate, it could use some more trimming.
  15. The widths above are what is commonly used and are very close to what was used on the film.
  16. You can order all the rivets you need and extras here, on the FISD: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23970-fs-centurion-level-rivet-sets/
  17. That's the truth! Awesome friends you make by joining the 501st. And i love the jacket Diana . As good as the armor.
  18. It makes sense, as ROTJ based kits have these ridges at the back of the limbs. Should have think twice before speaking. Live and learn!
  19. Definitely! Basically, i think you can trim the two front ridges directly to the standard size (i.e: around 15mm for the biceps and forearms, and 20mm for shins and thighs) and then leave some extra plastic at the back to adjust the amount needed for a good overlap depending on your body. In the end, the main difference with the cover stripe method is: to obtain a 15mm join, you trim the two ridges to 7mm both and once assembled it makes 15mm; but with overlap you trim the two ridges directly to 15mm and glue them one upon another.
  20. The overlap method means you don't use any cover stripes to join the halves together but the pieces themselves. Here's a quick diagram and a reference pic to explain the differences between the both:
  21. Well, the link i've posted above is a "one click and you got it" and it's an extremely nice set of armor, extremely well assembled together. Depending on your body type (if you have average mensurations) it will be a good fit out-of-the-box.
  22. It might be your best bet if you're of the lazy kind: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29253-rs-props-pvc-100-stormtrooper-suit-combo/ You will only need a blaster to complete the costume, even though it is NOT require for 501st approval.
