The Force Awakens Stormtrooper CRL
The5thHorseman replied to Darth Aloha's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Well, aside from "You must a be a black dude", i don't see anything different to add to the CRL . Seriously, basing yourself on the current TFA stormtrooper CRL will, IMO, guarantee you to have no serious approval issues. -

Hey Brian, I'm going to use your thread if you allow me to post this picture as I find it interesting about how to properly fasten the belt to the armor: -
TM Stunt Helmet - Teeth Cutting
The5thHorseman replied to pjheywood's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Indeed, but one is correct, the other is wrong. I let you find which is which by having a look at the picture i posted above and this one. -
One thing that can come into the blanace too is the fact the Hyperfirm comes with a M19 scope instead of the more popular M38 that all the resin kits have. And i personally have always preferred the M19. And by the way, the majority of the ANH blasters were equipped with a M19.

You still have some excess left. Trimming should extend all the way up to the bottom. So you should remove those two small lips you have left. -------------- -
Oh boy, and I who was trying to work on one... Seems like wasted time

I think it was posted on Troopermaster's facebook wall, but i don't remember from who. So I apologize for not being able to give him the credits he deserves. I know the height difference is playing, but i can't help myself to think that one is looking like a mean basterd, when the other is looking like a child his father has taken to his daytime job .

Lexan scissors and TrooperMaster armor; you can't really go wrong with that combination! Everything looks fine so far.

That might be helpful to you when you will be working on the hands and blasters. Lots of details! -
Red_2's NE ANH TK build ...
The5thHorseman replied to Red_2's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Ryan, glad to see you back on this build. I wouldn't trim the cod area as its shape is like it should be (recast part from RS prop), so i would keep concentrating on the thighs. But honestly it's already looking great on your pic above. -

E-11 Blaster (First Order) For 501st approval: Based on a replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, 3D-printed or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster. The magazine and housing are located on the right-hand side of the blaster (opposite to the original Sterling SMG), allowing the blaster to be mounted to the right-thigh of the leg armour. The blaster is black, with the following details white in colour; front muzzle ring, outermost magazine side, pistol grip, folding stock, end cap, scope rail front section, barrel hub, and feet of the scope mount. The following details are silver in colour; telescopic sight, scope mount upper section, scope end rings, scope rail rear section, end cap swivel, and cocking lever. -
Actually, the weapon IS required for Centurion and it will have to meet the requirements. The only reason why the blaster is optionnal for basic approval is because is some countries trooping in public with a firearm replica is forbidden. However, the Centurion submission being something you can do from your home there's no reason for you not to have the E-11. That's why it is compulsory for Centurion.

Yes, i noticed that about the rear sight too. In fact i strongly think all the parts of the original blasters are cast in white and then some of them are painted black. You can see some scratches in the black paint on some pictures revealing a white coat underneath it . And i'm very glad to hear your are now very close to be able to produce and sell your blaster!

Seems surprisingly nice. Being Rubies, i fear a bit the price tag though.

Hook and loop calf closure help...
The5thHorseman replied to justjoseph63's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Agree. I don't know if this thread has been pinned but it should. -
You can also find the vest on Amazon. And yes, i don't think it's a perfect match but i honestly think it will be enough for basic approval.

still some connection problems... (info for webmasters)
The5thHorseman replied to AWOL's topic in Forum Help & Support
That's what I did when I started to get issues and it worked well, so I can recommand doing that too. Even though people who still have issues will most likely never read that until it's sorted out! -
Yes, the tactical vests seem to be black Law Enforcement Chest Rig from Flyye Industries: http://www.flyyeindustries.com/ArticleShow.asp?ProdID=0668

I would love to 3D design it and publicly publish it, but i'm still in need of better pictures... I thought the pictures from the "Hot Toys" would solve that problem, but in the end i still can't get the details from the visor area.

I've held this NERF hand pistol in my hand and even though it is not that bad regarding details, it's far too small. And, like Rowan says, the NERF version of the E-11 has pretty much nothing salvageable for us.
