  1. We need a full thread of really inaccurate helmets. Number one would be FX
  2. When it yellows, that's how you know it's time to go sandy
  3. He knows Captain America?
  4. I realized shoes are bigger than paper, so I had to put my foot up to the screen as well, as long as the rulers match up you'll get an accurate measurement. An 11 would have been way too big
  5. Essentially after bondo the peices are casted into smoothcast or something more durable and wearable than the glass, and also light weight, i'm on the rpf too though I never cast my peps cuz that stuff is expensive. on the edges and insides I sand down with a disc on the drill and coat with some felt or thin foam so there's no digging or scratching on the return edges. For scaling generally the chest, cod, back and butt are the same width, lay down or put paper on a wall, mark points on the sides of your rib cage at the widest point which is around your underarms, then your waist. measure the distance and add an inch or 2, then convert to mm and put as the width in change scale.
  6. heres that link i mentioned. every halo file known to man. its a little hard to navigate but youll get the hang of it. http://www.4shared.com/folder/CCB_6QwQ/405th_Pepakura_Database.html
  7. I'm going to test my knowledge and guess from top to bottom is Sterling, hyper, Mr?
  8. I'd wipe everything down with damp rags instead of air so the dust doesn't spread around and into your lungs or eyes.
  9. Vern can you post a pic of your TX boots? I think I'll just get some bass amsterdams for mine and polish them after reading how much work goes into making the tkboots black. Laziness on my part
  10. Well when it comes to measurements and scaling, most of the halo files used to be scaled to 1:1, which equals a real 7 foot Spartan. Everything had to be fit to regular size, it was just easier to know that everybody who build armor had the same scale from the start. Since everything is in millimeters, you have to measure yourself by whatever means, then convert it. The pep designer program is what I use, I don't use viewer. When it says the helmet is X millimeters, it's measuring from the farthest ASSEMBLED points. Such as the tip of the ears. When I build helmets I measure the distance and add 10 or 20mm for some wiggle room and space for foam. So with your giant handplate lol, you only needed to convert the width of your knuckles to mm and change the scale in the 2D menu
  11. I saved the database link on my laptop, so I'll have to post it when I get on it again. Why isn't this thread in the non sw costuming? A tip from my pep experience, use a heat gun after glassing on sides of the chest, biceps, legs and helmets to make sure everything is symmetrical and fits before bondo
  12. You can see Luke pulling the blaster out when he gets out of the elevator on the detention level
  13. Count me interested on the next run!
  14. I know, people be viewin but aint postin! Maybe you're the only one with tkboots. What does everyone else have, "Elvis/disco/mariachi" boots?
  15. I heated up spare abs like pandatrooper cuz I don't want mine falling off or removable unless I suit down, especially if I keep items inside
  16. Proof that the thread works I guess lol
  17. That just makes the ab buttons more screen accurate
  18. For any curious troopers about pepakura you can pm me. Anyhow I have some unfinished stormtrooper parts up for grabs. Resined and glassed, need to be sanded and bondo'd. I've built a war machine helmet, captain America shield, Thor chest piece, lots of resin fumes have clouded my head lol. I plan on doin the operator helmet from halo reach after the TX armor is complete. I have a link to 405th's entire halo pep file database if you need it
  19. 350 is to much for a helmet, "we could almost buy our own ship for that!"
  20. hmm i now see the original air date was 11/7.. well it was new to me!... *pokerface* haha. by recent i meant posted on the sp site, i dont have tv.
  21. So I tried to create a new account there, naturally it said the one I used for fisd (a gmail) is already in use, so I tried using my main email and it said "this email address is not accepted by the community, please try another" lol what's up with that? It was a hotmail so I just made one with yet a third email which is a Yahoo and that worked.
  22. Its in the Walmart office/craft section with the super glue by the play dough
  23. Just watched the recent South park with the plot about star wars and the Chinese. Great stuff! If you haven't seen it yet head over to southparkstudios.com and watch "Obama wins"
  24. The black version I think i'm the only shadow stormtrooper in Tucson, well when I get approval and my numbers. Then I'll be the 2nd shadow in the DSG I think.
  25. I tried following the instructions for using my fisd login to clonetroopers.net and it says the passport page to do this isn't available. Should I just create a different account on the clone site?
