  1. I used krylon fusion (made for plastics) on gocart bodies and it held up to much abuse
  2. I thought that was supposed to be the blue glow seen more on the shadow troopers in Jedi outcast when they turn invisible
  3. I threw away the packaging that had the directions on it, so I might as well get some additional info. How long is the dry time again? I think it said an hour When fully cured is it hard like glue or somewhat squishy like hot glue sticks/caulk Is it better to be applied thin like super glue to both sides of the contacts or thick to one side and clamped together? After applying fresh does it have to dry slightly like spray adhesive to become tacky before contact or the faster the better What other misc things have you used it for besides armor?
  4. the thermal detonator looks tiny, like the size of a red bull can lol. ive seen another one like it, whats up with the vertical ab plate? the missing buttons on the bellybutton part are for TD's then you put the TK button part on top of it, but the vertical button part, why do they cast with the dip in the bottom?
  5. ^ its not too difficult, just the pep assembly is the most annoying part, all that cutting and scoring. I'm on the rpf as DizzyStrmtroopr, I have links to pretty much all halo files. I tell ya the rpf 3PO builds are really well done.
  6. I contacted supertrooper about the ata, i'm using a custom helmet for now though, which I'll change out to an approved one when I apply, its smaller so I don't get the Bobble head Luke effect so I'll see how the ata sitchey-ation turns out. I don't really want to spend over 500 , so I just need the untrimmed armor without a helmet. My pepakura armor is a different story lol
  7. Isn't it a little overboard opening up 99999 now? If the first were up to 9999, shouldn't it be regulated i.e. 'from now on all numbers shall not exceed 19999'? Its kind of unfair to the 4 digit troopers that now anyone can request any number, whereas the first were limited to 4 digits.. Id think everyone would have to only start with 1XXXX, this way you'd be able to tell 'generations' of troopers. Just a theory
  8. I've found AP armor untrimmed to my door is *** usd shipped, I haven't bought anything. The ccs is *** shipped, talk about get what you pay for lol. I should mention I frequent the rpf more than anything, hence the low post count. I would make molds of the new work but probably use smooth cast, that stuff is rock hard. But this whole thing is purely hypothetical
  9. I was looking at the available 501st numbers list and there's only about 20 or so left! I suppose everyone wishes they had tk421 or tk1138 etc, not limited to just stormtroopers of course. But if tk td bh or whatever 001 through 9999 are registered for life, will the 501st open numbers upwards of 10000?
  10. its not a lot of work really, as long as ones has the sculpting skills. and i thought it was legality issues!
  11. im currently working on pepakura armor but i want a 501st suit as well, hence the topic, so yes ive considered it, im 5'9" so i think the AP armor will work best for me, but i dont understand the whole "dont ask where to get armor" when you cant find where to get armor lol. im guessing that means start sending some emails.. and to answer your question, i have a ton of time
  12. so naturally i noticed the softness to the tk armor on ebay from customcastingservices. and after verifying there was something not right about it from here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19449 , my question is what if i were to buy the armor (ugh.. as much as i hate to support recasters) , but use my fiberglass and bondo skills to sharpen the details to 'accurate', per the original (whoevers work that was), should i give it a shot? can an improved recast be 501st approved, i mean it is all about accuracy isnt it? that back piece is gonna take some work, but i have the skill and time.
  13. say there were 2 troopers, both armors looked exactly the same, hypothetically. one was vacuformed 501st approved, and the other derived from a pep file made of glass and bondo, implying said builder had much time and skill. since the pepped one is exactly the same in appearance to the 501st approved armor, would it matter what material it was made from anymore?
