  1. The kits that were sold to the 501st at SWCA were in kit form. so if the build looked bad, it's likely it was a failure of the builder to properly scale the armor to their frame, or to properly pad it so it wasn't noticeable. In the future ANOVOS will offer it as a fully built setup based on your measurements. But thats likely a long ways off.
  2. Hi Stu, thanks for the interest! I will update here when we have some newer models to show.
  3. He bought a base resin kit from a guy on the RPF and is finishing it. He did not sculpt this, but has put some great work into finishing the build, painting and weathering it.
  4. If you want ROTJ, CFO is your only option, and it's a great option. Mark is a great guy and has an outstanding product. Lots of people order their armors form the UK. While shipping can be spendy, it isn't that bad and I"m sure there aren't any more problems than shipping with the USPS. I would order from a vetted maker like CFO (TM for ANH) and you'll get your stuff and the chances are it will be in great shape when it gets to you.
  5. Yes, he has a great model so far, much better then anything else I've seen to date.
  6. I notice that it comes and goes. Sometimes I will click my name and "My content" sometimes it comes back as no content found, and sometimes it brings all my content up.
  7. I think the biggest difference that if a guy wears the legacy female suit it's cross dressing. Girls in guys clothes are ok in todays socitey. Guys in girls clothes is not the social norm and on the fringes. I think the difference is the Phasma armor is not male or female, just like the rest of the armor. It simply is armor, designed to be functional (ish) regardless to the shape of the body under it. I'd wear Phasma. I think getting it chrome plated would be a nightmare on the pocket book considering how expensive it is to plate just a helmet.
  8. Does it seem like Phasma is wearing the same scale pieces as the troopers or bigger? It seems the gaps between pieces are larger.
  9. True statement, but I have a feeling we will have her with helmet off at some point. OT we never had helmets off as the troopers were meant to be anonymous (my opinion) but Phasma is something we never really had in the OT, a hero trooper, a leader. Most likely the CRL/approval will have her as a fully helmeted character.
  10. Chrome rattle cans for the cheap way.
  11. She won't be able to protect her troopers any better than she did all the Starks I"m sure! It will be cool that it's a fully setup costume that is a soldier, and not a "female" soldier. Looks to be very similar to the TK7's with changes to the helmet and some minor differences here and there, but pretty cool all around.
  12. Really great progress. It's always a great feeling when things come together. Just bad when it all falls apart because of carelessness, especially when you can't blame anyone else!
  13. If you are gap filling thick is probably better. Whenever I use CA glue for normal building I'm using medium. Mostly don't use it though, unless I need some instant bond.
  14. I am exactly of the same mind. Sure it sucks to other 501st guys who want to get a suit. They did not sign a sales agreement and the 75 fulfilled their bargain by being at SWCA. Well most did. Regardless, they paid their money for it, and this guy paid good money to get the suit sprayed with 2K paint, which isn't a cheap alternative. It's his choice to sell or keep it.
  15. Dang man, bad luck... sorry about that delay!
  16. Gino tracks are overpriced, regardless. The visible difference between Gino and Roy is negligible. So you want to pay $40 or $80 for basically the same thing?
  17. Walt is the guy who bought the V2 forms from Gino, and his name is "Walts Trooper Factory" aka WTF
  18. Icomm is the box that adds the static burst to your talking. The aker is the speaker. You only need those 2 items. For the aker speaker generally all you need is the 1505 or 1506. But if you really want to go all out and be hears, the more Watts, the louder it gets.
  19. Head over to Voicebooster.com He also has a 501st discount coupon, I can't recall what it is though.
  20. Internal strapping has never been a part of the CRL since it's never seen, it's up to you. The only thing the CRL will be concerned with is the external appearance. I agree with TK boots for basic. They are similar in the fact that they both are white boots with a black sole. There are a lot of details different but from a distance TK boots look like they belong. At least until there are multiple sources of TK7 style boots in all sizes...(Size 14/15!).
  21. It depends on if you can see it was stitched in two parts. If it was obviously stitched on both sides it would not be approved unless the GML misses it.
  22. I understand the itch for a project! I think the best path to strip the paint is just sanding it down. You can try with paint thinner but it can damage the resin if it's the wrong stuff. I would sand it down nice and smooth, then start your layering with a metallic base coat and so on. When I started my E11 kits I used a PVC tube and use the basic tubes that we can find over here in Germany. They are pretty thin walled. when I cut the slide for the charging lever it also warped. I don't think it was due to heat but rather due to the tube required a fully closed loop to hold it's structural integrity, since the walls are so thin vs the US tubes which are like 4-5mm thick. If you just want to get some individual parts I can help supply you with some pieces from my resin casts. I only sell the power cells as a part of the kit, but if you want to get in touch with the best resin/metal cells you can find send a PM to playfullwolfcub. Or make your own. There are a few nice tutorials these days in the E11 forum. If you want to get a full kit, let me know and I can put you on my run list.
