  1. Photos definitely help to get you feedback and know that you are on the right track
  2. Good news, looking forward to the progress
  3. CRL's are often updated, new reference material comes to light, if you have proof/evidence of what you believe is wrong with the CRL then post it, I'm sure others would be happy to see Yes the armor is from a game and not made by hand but you are replicating how it looks on the screen, not how much easier it is to wear
  4. Great news, funny how shouting at it doesn't work, neither does hoping when you wake in the morning that the night elves have completed it for you. Check out some of the build threads, they will be a great help, there are a few different ways to strap armor so pick the one that will best suit you. Good luck and looking forward to the progress.
  5. As mentioned it is still approvable with some mods, but with costume approvals always check with your GML (garrison membership liaison) as he/she is ultimately the one going to be approving your costume. Lots of build threads have lost their photos since photobuckets new rules but there are still plenty of build threads to view which will show you how to make armor fit your size. You are basically starting from scratch so you will have to separate some pieces, trim and match to your size. Hopefully they used E6000 glue when the armor was first assembled, if they used some other permanent glue then you could be in some trouble separating the pieces. Some more photos of how the armor looks on would be good to see what needs adjusting
  6. There are a few other choices too, Imgar lets you copy photo links directly into posts without the IMG tags, may be worth a look
  7. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
  8. Sleep, I can sleep when I'm dead Having a look at another slightly higher res photo and noticed I should have mounted the magazine further around on the side, not too worry I'll fix this up on the next version The more images I see the less I think that the head and base claws are offset, but just in case I've slotted the mounting holes so I can adjust them later. Really depends how you view the images and look at the angles, I've found holding it and taking photos it can change so much So here is where I am up too, everything attached and electronics working, now just stuck waiting on the mail man now, the EL wire I had was just too short, hopefully it will turn up soon Thought I would try out some hot glue on the EL wire, seemed to work well for Kylo's, I think it will look more realistic Some more reference material
  9. Use automotive masking tape, it is a lot smoother than normal masking tape and adheres better, also paint white first, that way if there is any bleed through it will be the same colour as the helmet and hardly noticeable.
  10. Well if you've tackled a car then I don't think you will have any problems, good luck
  11. Trimming is looking good, I posted about your mishap on the other post ;). Good luck with the rest of the build, looking forward to the progress
  12. It probably won't be seen in your application photos but you know it's there ;). I have found with a few light scratches to sand wet, using wet and dry sandpaper, start with a 320 grit then work up to 600 and 1200, then you will need to use a compound/buffing polish to bring back the shine. NOTE: I would suggest to the first timer to try on some scrap pieces of plastic (just add a couple of scratches) first before tackling your helmet ;).
  13. I use a couple of coats of satin clear after I weather the blaster just to help it stay how I've made it look, you will still find that it will get scratched but not as much. I also used gloss clear on the handle ;).
  14. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
  15. Another image of the Judicial / Executor
  16. Thanks for the kind words guys Once all the parts had colour on them and assembled I found I wasn't happy with the length of the barrel and the width between the claws so I've done some trimming and a little adjusting, much happier now
  17. I've just done an RS build for a fellow member, I left a bit more on the shoulders to start off with, you can always trim off more later if you need too ;). Good luck with the build
  18. Been waiting on the weather for paint to dry all week, now waiting on glue to dry, getting there.
  19. Supports for the claws painted silver, white detail section added and glued. Handle masked and recess section painted satin black, really shows up the grooves well.
  20. Thanks Tony The claw sections have some recesses/indents but as references material is not very clear I have just made these from sticker material, easy to change later
  21. There is an automotive product here wihich is called spot putty, you may have a similar product available there. Not as hard as bondo, comes as a smooth paste which when dry can be sanded wet or dry with fine to medium sandpaper, may be an option for the pin holes.
  22. Texture is normally fine as long as they are all black. You can check with your GML (garrison membership liaison) as ultimately he/she will be approving your costume
  23. Nice work so far, correct placement for the S trim. As long as you can get your head inside then keep trimming of the opening to a minimum.
  24. I have found with this forum upgrade that I have to post image links one by one or they will only load as links, perhaps try that or edit your post and add the IMG tags to your photo links. Good luck
  25. Looks very nice, I'm still not a liker of the side V section, but that's just me. Well done.
