  1. Some of the most common questions I get from the kids are the "Is that a real gun, or can I hold your gun?" I usually answer, yes this is a real Imperial issued blaster, and on the other I say either "It is against Imperial regulations to hand off or allow others to handle my weapon", or "No, children should not play with guns". One of the best lines I have used at least once at every troop is when I'm taking pictures with someone and I say after the photo "Oops (or Wait), I forgot to smile." Always gets a laugh.
  2. I did what Wayne did and used rare earth magnets to hold it together until I got it positioned how I wanted. I think your correction looks very good. Keep it up!
  3. What a great idea, but I wouldn't be able to see the form to fill it out.
  4. Well, I pray he doesn't alter it further.
  5. What kind of liner/padding is that?
  6. It's funny how you can look at all of the parts and think "How in the world will all of this become cool looking Stormtrooper armor?" For me, it became "real" when I finished assembling the helmet and painted it. That's when I had my "Wow!" moment.
  7. Congrats! I love my TM armor. As soon as I get my blaster, I'll apply for my Centurion.
  8. Here's an idea of where Paul put mine on. ----------
  9. Thanks to everybody for your dedication to making this the premier costuming information site in the galaxy!!!
  10. And just in case you are REALLY stubborn and didn't read the past few warnings.....STAY AWAY FROM EBAY! (It rhymes for a reason. ) --------------
  11. Yes...usually can be removed fairly easy with a little "elbow grease".
  12. I know I'm late here, but wanted to agree that this may be the most beautiful E-11 on the planet. Great job!!!!
  13. Congrats, Nicole! I have TM armor as well. It is some beautiful armor. You will be VERY happy with it when you're done. My wife sent me a picture of the big brown box when it arrived. I was at work as well and could not get my mind off of it. Get some Lexan scissors! Very helpful tool. The TD is a good start, so you can "get your feet wet". I started by getting a pencil and marking all the return edges and then trimming everything. Good Luck!
  14. Very nice! Did you hand paint or go decals? Hard to tell on my phone. As for ear gaps, welcome to the club.
  15. That's pretty awesome!
  16. Shouldn't the chest plate overlap the ab plate?
  17. Obviously since I'm a Saints fan I cannot pull for the 49ers (too many painful memories from our NFC West days). I DID pull for them against the Falcons (HATE the Falcons), but now I dislike the 9ers. Geaux Ravens!
  18. Ravens.
  19. Kicking the wife out of bed.....bad idea. Good luck with your builds and have fun! On a side note, I'm glad to see what a complete doopydoos kit looks like in the box.
  20. You're welcome! Troopers helping Troopers! Good luck!
  21. I measured from the "flat" edge of the armor before the return edge because people trim the edge widths differently . Here's the right ab snap ------- And here's the crotch snaps. ------- It looks like the middle of the crotch rivet is about 1/2" from the start of the return edge (sorry no pic). Hope this helps some.
  22. I'm not sure of the measurements, but give me a sec and I'll snap some pics of mine.
  23. I was trying to decide on this issue as well during my build because I don't feel I can paint very well and my hands are not that steady. I decided, though, to go ahead and give painting a shot. I got the TM helmet templates from Trooperbay. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be and like stated above, it turned out to be the most rewarding part of my build to me. It looks so awesome hand painted. The one soothing thing is knowing that if you "paint outside the lines" on ABS you can use a toothpick to scrape off the paint and touch up your lines. Works great!
  24. Any way to secure down some foam and notch an area in the foam to rest the mic/headset into so it's not resting on the lid itself?
