  1. Great job, Si! Awesome pics! TM makes some great armor (I own the 1.5 mm TM armor)! It looks fantastic! The biceps hooks technique looks great.
  2. That is great news! Looking forward to seeing pics of your finished blaster.
  3. I hope not for your sake. But I will say communication with them leaves something to be desired.
  4. I got mine from Walmart, but I've also seen it at hobby stores.
  5. Well, I don't think it was Doopys fault on the half blaster. I think it was the mail system. They said they sent replacement parts, but I've yet to see them (and that's been about two and a half months). The blaster I have in my pics is a Hyperfirm blaster I've been borrowing from a fellow trooper for our troops.
  6. Thanks for the compliment! Because of issues regarding me getting half of a Doopydoos blaster, I don't have the weapon to apply for EIB or Centurion. Darth Voorhees is working on a kit that will hopefully be ready by the end of January. When I get the weapon, I will be ready to apply for Centurion status.
  7. UPDATE: Just found out that we raised just under $400 in a 5 hours period. We were told the average was $100 per bucket and we gathered 4x that. Pretty awesome! Way to go Rancor Raiders!
  8. One of the most rewarding parts of my build was hand painting my helmet. I highly suggest it. It looks so good when you're done. Good luck!
  9. Every new cast you show looks fantastic! I can't wait to get my kit so I can stop borrowing my fellow trooper's Hyperfirm (and I can get my Centurion status-eh, Mathias ). I wouldn't be opposed to my kit being white. Would the black plastic make it more difficult to make it look more weathered?
  10. Yes, Ingrid, other than Vader....the TKs definitely standout. I had people walking up to get pictures and walked by Vader to get their first pic with me. Thanks, Jay! Paul makes great looking armor. I'm having a blast! It is definitely fun, especially when it benefits charity. I can't wait to find out how much we collected.
  11. Here's my third troop since I've joined the Rancor Raiders this month. We rang the Salvation Army bell in Brandon, MS at the local Walgreens. The reception was phenomenal and the Red Bucket was completely full at the end of our time. Trooping has been more rewarding to me than I could have possibly imagined. Lots of wonderful and dedicated people in our Garrison. I'm very proud to be a part of it. One of the head guys of the Salvation Army heard of the "commotion" at our location and showed up to check things out himself. He was so impressed and so grateful for all that we were doing. We told him that we would like for this to be an annual thing for us and he WHOLE Heartedly agreed. The weather was perfect. Me and Fett starting out the day ringing the bells. For the record, I'm the shorter TK (with a holstered blaster) in the rest of the pics
  12. Great pics! Wookie looks really good. Love the red tights!
  13. You're welcome. I'm just excited to help keep the project going sooner than later. I know you'll produce a great product. Keep up the good work.
  14. I'm glad I could contribute a little...even if it was a what not to do.
  15. Thanks, everyone! I'm sure I got more from the visit than the kids, families, and staff did. The smile on a child's face is the ultimate reward and makes all those hours of trimming, fitting, and painting worth it. Many thanks to the Rancor Raiders for setting it up and allowing me to be a member to join in on wonderful troops like this. FYI...because of the Connecticut tragedy I went weaponless and those who brought theirs left them holstered.
  16. Congratulations on your TK ID!!! That was a fast build with great results!
  17. 100% agree. Everybody gets so excited about seeing us, but it's more rewarding for me when the child smiles and gets that wide-eyed amazed look. The kid in the third pick was telling about how he had each one of us (characters) in his Star Wars Lego game (which I happen to love to play by the way). One kid told Vader (when his lid was off) your not suppose to be able to breathe without your helmet on. It was fun!
  18. My second troop....we visited Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, MS today. We were well received and plan a lot more future visits. We went from room to room to visit or just wave from the door. Our guide would ask if the patients and families wanted us to visit and if they would prefer our helmets on or off. Lots of pics with the families and kids and staff. It never gets old seeing the look on people's faces when we come around the corner. Always smiles. Of course, everyone wanted to see Vader. Here are a few pics and I'll share more as they become available. I'm the TK to the right I'm the TK to the far right I'm the middle TK TK to the left is me
  19. My box was opened as well....only problem I had is half of the parts were missing upon arrival.
