  1. if you want to just connect it directly, you can purchase a connector that fits your battery (the RC store where I bought the battery sold me the male connector). Wire that to your fan and it is instant on when you connect the two. OR you can wire in a switch, again pretty straight forward. The complicate step is adding in the three way switch that allows full power or 5V step-down, that took a little finessing and help from a friend with more skill than I have. He gutted a car USB charger for the circuitry and voila 5V option. This way it is not over draining the battery using resistors.
  2. PS: I have two batteries When it needs a charge in pop it out (Velcro) and plug in the small white connector to a charging unit.
  3. Here it is. What you see is the 12v fan. Battery is about 3cell 1000mah 11.4v. It's wired Through a 3 position switch which allows for full battery power, off and a voltage regulator to step it down to 5v for those troops that don't require as much cooling of ventilation. ----------
  4. same for me. I can easily get 5 hours of fan in the same footprint as a single 9v
  5. congrats on your 501st acceptance Scott! When is the first troop?
  6. I would recommend you spend more time reading recent build threads for AP kits here on FISD. The methods and recommendations on that site are not in line with current build techniques.
  7. AP lens material is not thick or dark enough… this is what I replaced with. http://trooperbay.com/dark-green-lens-material/ Mic tips with AP are not very accurate… I recommend they get replaced with either: Keith's tips are great http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/4369-mic-tips-mic-tips-mic-tips/ Trooperbay sometimes carries good tips (not the "Mike" tips) that come from, I believe, Mark at CFO.
  8. Congrats on your Centurion appointment trooper!
  9. Congrats on your EIB trooper!
  10. Here I am….. Greetings Mark, there are certainly lots of troopers in Southern Ontario and more specifically, west of the GTA. If you would like, I can connect you with Canadian Garrison members that are in your general neck of the woods as well as all over Ontario. reach out to me via PM and I can talk you through it.
  11. Keep up the great work, we'll be looking at another EIB/Centurion trooper in the GTA in no time!
  12. Congrats and welcome to Centurion!
  13. Congrats on the nice looking EIB build. Good luck with your mod and Centurion application.
  14. Congrats on your EIB trooper
  15. congrats on your EIB appointment Troy!
  16. have you applied for full 501st access yet here (not sure that this is the issue, but it might be): http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/
  17. Yeah it just doesn't line up right. If you heat it (boiling water for example) it helps a bit but it will still have a bit of a crooked look from the from when lining up the ridges on the side. Truly wonky.
  18. Good luck with your approval. One thing I see that could use a fix is your shins should both open inward. On your right shin it is opening towards the outside. Not sure about the left side.
  19. I believe Vern is referring to two different items…Wider than needed return edges on various parts of the armour and the Faceplate/brow gap. The Faceplate gap he is referring to seems to be that there is physical GAP in your brow trim and faceplate, evident on the shot that shows a lot of light leak when demonstrating lens colour. there should not be such a wide gap, the brow (I believe) should be up against the faceplate.
  20. Congrats on your EIB. One thing I'm not quite getting is your holster strap that locks the weapon in. It looks like it is affixed wrong. The snap facing out makes it look backward. The leather looks reversed as well. In your full body shots it's not connected either which makes me think something is not quite right. I think it would be nice to have this tidied up for Centurion.
