  1. That looked like fun! Except for the Easter Bunny suit. Im phobic of those things. Cant trust 'em.
  2. You can trim the wrist down and taper as you go back to the elbow. I have made exaggerated lines to show you the taper but just taper to fit your wrist. Make it as small as you can and still get your hand through when you tuck your thumb and pinky into your hand.
  3. Here is another pic to help you on your build for the forearms. Look at the row across the top. They are all straight at the wrist and taper back to fit the forearm.
  4. You can always look at the top of the FISD and look at reference pics. The forearms are straight around the wrist. Now where that lies on your wrist depends on the length of your forearm. Thats why we are asking for pics. I have popeye forearms too so I know what you are going through We need to help you size the length and the width. Take a look at this photo for an idea of what I am talking about.
  5. is it the angle of the picture or are the forearms square? In the pic with the left and right ones, the left looks square.
  6. You can have approved Stunt and Hero... you can add ESB and ROTJ and have four different approved TK's. You will still be TK XXXXX as your ID.
  7. I have an approved TK and an approved Tie Pilot. I got the Tie Pilot helmet and found that the armor takes a long time to get so I got the TK and was approved in that first. Then I finished the Tie Fighter a few months after that. When you look at my profile on the 501st page it shows my TK and there is a note under other approved costumes that says Tie Fighter Pilot. hope that helps.
  8. I spray the inside of mine with that "hammered" black rattle can stuff from hardware stores. It adds texture to the inside and makes anything I glue inside stick better. I also llike the look of the black inside. I orginally thought it would help with any glare. Same reason we rub black polish under the eyes in football. Not sure there is any benefit in that area though. Then, like Tray, I just think it looks better when people look inside the lid.
  9. and clearly I need to send my bucket to Trey to have him build the inside of mine like that.
  10. I am looking at getting a new suit for trooping and while Im planning this all in my head I am thinking about the strapping. I currently use the nylon straps with snaps strapping. I am thinking about going with the bars and bolts screen accurate strapping for the next build. My question is for those who use the bars and bolts for trooping. How well does it hold up over time? Does it cause your armor to crack? I want to LOOK screen accurate but want to be able to troop in the suit for a few years as well. thanks Isaac
  11. Does Lonewolf sell his helmets though? I thought he just made that one for himself.
  12. We have one. I've never trooped with a shadow trooper though.
  13. We have plenty of Sand Troopers out here. It ain't easy keeping the white armor so fresh in dust storms
  14. He is making a Hondo right now. It's SICK. I dont watch the shows but from what I've seen online, his new rig is spot on. He is also one of the best people I have known.
  15. I agree Sam, Cad Bane is a trip to look at. The kids LOVE him though because of the Clone Wars. The guy who built it is named Neils and when my kids come to troops they spend the whole day walking around with him.
  16. It was for a Mitzvah Mall. They were taking donations for Hurricane Sandy and a blood drive. This year we raised 3x more donations than any of their previous events. Troopers on hand: Me - Tie Pilot Dave C -TK Mike C -TK (EIB) Michael Q - TK Neelz - Cade Bane Victoria - Mando Mercs Jasmine - Biker Scout
  17. you can do a whois lookup on the domain and get the person's name and address. They have their domain registered publicly. I won't paste the info out in the open but its listed for the world to see. Doesn't tell you who they are re-casting but it tells you who is doing it
  18. The Phoenix Comic Con is not all about comics. I haven't read them since I was like 10 years old bro. Its a great place to meet other Star Wars costumers and interact with cool kids who are freaking out because there are real life Star Wars characters to take pictures with. We all do this hobby for our own reasons. My TK is an AM kit and I would be willing to help you get it built and help you get fitted right. We have some really skilled builders in Casa Grande too. We are here to help ya as much as you would like. There is also the FISD here. We are all here to help.
  19. I'd be glad to help ya out if you ever make it over this way to Phoenix. The chest looks good how you have it now as far as where it sits. The shoulders we can check out in person and see what you have to work with. If you are dead set on trimming them, go 1/2 inch at a time and make sure they sit right after each cut and that moving your arms around doesnt get them hung up. You will be posing with kids in weird funky angles so consider that as well. Isaac
  20. we tried to have them both in helmets and take them off in the end... since they are identical twins it would have been funny to have them be clones... then the wife said I was making it too difficult. Well, shes 8 months pregnant so she wins any debate we have on principle so this is what we got
  21. wouldn't you know it, the chair blocks the 501st logo. Cant see in that bucket
