  1. Here's a couple wide shots after detailing. Still needs wires and a bit more weathering. In the holster:
  2. That was behind the camera!
  3. The picture below is much of the stuff that I've compiled for my basic armor build, but I have begun using some other things such as my Dremel tool, B&D portable worktable and vise. Also, make sure you get some work gloves and goggles and some other basic tools from the tool chest and you'll be fine. I did my best to put this together from reading here, but in my experience so far of building my E-11, there was always a problem that arose that made me have to improvise from things I have, or, ultimately sends me back to hobby shops, surplus stores and home centers when I don't have it. Good luck! Hope this helps a little. -----------
  4. Well, worked on the detailing and weathering last evening. I've decided for very mild weathering so I'm not going full on. So far I've weathered the scope, Henstler and added the metallic details. First of all, here's the spray paint I used. Now on to the details. Here is the scope slightly weathered and with the screws and lettering painted: Hengstler details: Bolt door: Put together: Now, I just need to pimp the scope lenses, add the wires for the Hengstler, weather the rest and clear coat it. More to come!
  5. Thanks Martin!!! Not as artistic as yours, but without yours as the guide I'd never have gotten it done as well as I have! I'm pleased with it!
  6. I'm inspired Steve!! I've been staring at your Photobucket constantly! I just wish it was in order! Great stuff tho, really amazing assembly!
  7. I'd recommend 2 part epoxy sparingly on parts! worked great for me! AND I'd just glue it. After filling, sanding, priming and painting you'll never even know it was ever broken!
  8. Thanks for the tip on creating the spring Luis!
  9. Thanks guys! Yep! I'm feelin' the hammered look!
  10. Well, I'm almost finished so I thought I'd post a continuation to the build. I left out how I made the spring on this particular thread so here's what I did. First I scraped off all of the paint on a regular coat hanger then used a 5A drumstick to form the coil. I'll double check the size of the stick but it was perfect for fitting the spring into the inner pipe of the blaster: Installed: After the filling, sanding and priming I finally got to paint the black base coat. I used Rustoleum hammered finish spray paint from Sprawlmart. It went on pretty glossy, but as you'll see in the end with the flat clear coat it all worked out.: I eventually hung it to spray: It looked pretty glossy after drying: After the clear mat coat: I painted the spring Citadel bolt gun metal, I think it looks pretty good: I taped off the handle before the matt coat so it stayed glossy: Texture's pretty cool: I like the imperfections, think it'll add character. All that's left now are the metal details and screws. Then one more clear mat coat to protect it! Yay! Then.......on to the armor!
  11. Nope, didn't work either....
  12. This is by no means a definitive list but this is what I've put together for my ATA build by reading a ton of tutorials and getting recommendations. It's taken about 4 months to get it all together and it seems pretty complete (just missing the strapping components). I'm sure something else will come up, but this may help give you an idea of the items you will most likely need. --------- Good luck!
  13. Little progress last night painting the base color on the scope. It's not technically brass (it's Citadel Dwarf Bronze acrylic) but I think it'll work under the black. I intend to do only light weathering so I don't think the slight darker metallic color will be all that bad. If anyone thinks it'll not work in the end, I may repaint it with a closer brass enamel, but that will mean another trip to the Hobby Shop (which I actually never mind at all, more paint is better! ) Opinions (as usual) are welcome!! That's all for now! SOON the final black coat and mat clear coat!! Almost there!!
  14. Just don't do it!!!!! Read more here, do research, be more patient and you'll save yourself a bunch of money, have a great time, connect with an amazing community and be satisfied in knowing you made the right decision!! We've all felt the impatience, my motto is if you're going to do it, just do it right in the first place! Everyone is here to help!!
  15. Tried it, didn't work. I clicked all of the options on the left and nothing but one of the threads I'm following. I'm using Safari, could that be the problem? I don't have another browser on this mac but can get another one if I need to.
  16. When I click on "view new content" it says there are no new posts. I'm not sure what happened, it used to work.
  17. The priming really binds the whole thing together! I'm dying to get rolling on the final paint job and weathering! Any suggestions on what kind of black spray paint to use?
  18. Progress on the build last night! I've decided to not go with a detailed bolt (forgive me Martin and Vern!) I'm general happy with it as is and I'm just itching to get to the armor. I was able to fill sand and prime all of the parts. Now, to base coat the colors tonight, then spray everything black later this week when I get some time!
  19. It's looking awesome and you're working so fast! Excellent! I really got to get on started on my build! You've inspired me!! Darned E-11 taking up all of my attention!
  20. It's looking great Steve! Really nice work! I'm following and getting a little scared to begin mine!
  21. Stainless, brass or aluminum? How many do I need for assembly? And where are we using them in the builds? I'd hate to buy too many or the wrong metal.
