I bought some 10 MM and they were WAY too big, they were HUGE in comparison. I'm a bit confused............Maybe the bins were mislabeled.......

Hi all, I was hoping to get the exact size for the hex screws to replace the poorly cast front nozzle ones as well as the full length that you all have cut the metal rail for the scope. I probably can figure it out through some trial and error but just thought this would be faster. I am in the middle of the build and just need to grab the replacement hex screws to finalize my parts. Thanks guys! On an added note! My ATA kit is finally ready and I'm hoping to have it shipped by the weekend! I'll post the brown box pics as soon as I get it! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I've never used Gorilla glue and wasn't really sure about it. I may attempt that as well.

I began my E11 full resin kit last evening and after giving the kit a bath in the sink with some dish soap, dry fitting and scoring the surfaces to be glued I put the handle on the body and the two mag pieces together. I clamped all the parts with rubber bands and left them for 24 hours. When I came back to it tonight the handle fell off after inspecting it and the two parts of the mag came apart very easily. In everything I've read so far everyone seems to be using E6000 for the builds. Why didn't my glue set? I've never used E 6000 before. Would it just make sense to use 2 part epoxy instead for the build? It would occur to me that it would be a lot stronger as well as setting and curing faster. I have a lot of experience with styrene models but I've never put together a resin kit before. I have available in my modeling kit epoxy, cryo glue, plastic weld, Loctite for plastic, standard testors model glue as well as testors styrene glue. Would any of these work instead of the E 6000? I'm a bit bummed this happened on my first night, but at least I'll be able to scrape the E 6000 off if I have to and use another type. What to do......what to do!!!

Wow! That's awesome! I have my kit coming really soon! It's cool to see what's exactly in the boxes! Did the drop boxes come with backs? I only see two items that look like drop boxes and I would imagine 4 of them if it included the backs. Also, how much are those helmet liners? I really like the way it looks! Comfy! What's the consensus around here on those types of liners? I already have a hard hat liner I cut out, but the motorcycle helmet liner looks great!

Well, I don't have the kit yet. It's on the way, supposed to be here in Feb. I'm just pre-fabing the parts in preparation.

I'm using Billhag's post on this for measurements and templates, but it just gives the measurement up to the notches at the end near the front but doesn't include the measurement for the full rail before the notch cutting. It says 22.5 cm. What is the full length I need to cut it at?

Got my TK boots yesterday! They look and feel awesome! I wear a 10 1/2 but purchased 11's. They feel great but there is a bit of room in the toe. Not a big deal at all! Closer everyday! I'd upload a pic but can't figure out how the heck to get the attachment on here!

So you decided to go with the ATA kit then? Nice choice! That's the one I have on order. If you intend on going that way you really should get on the wait list. I've been waiting since the 26th of November, so it's gonna take a while.

I think by snap kit, You mean a set of snaps from a fabric store like Jo-Ann. Should you decide to go with a snap based strapping system you'll need those as well as well as either some plastic from the kit, styrene or webbing to attach it to the armor. Lots of tutorials on here for that. Checking out the build forums are really the best way to get up to speed as well as reading literally EVERYTHING you can find on here. I too am just starting and have purchased just about everything I think I'll need to get started. I'm just waiting for my kit to be ready. I posted a list of what I put together so far if you'd like to see what may be involved for you as you get ready piecing together your own arsenal. Here's the post. Let me know if you have any questions about what I've got so far. A lot of it isn't probably absolutely necessary right at the beginning, but this is what I've culled from reading as much as possible so far and talking to a lot of these great troopers!
