You can get a 10v Aker amp with mic headset pretty inexpensively on Amazon and probably have it shipped directly to your hotel. The iComm would be separate. Follow directions above.

Also, what size are you and what type of armor? You can get more specific help if you show pics, too But the best places to go are tutorials and build threads. Everyone's been there in your situation one way or another

I don't know the first thing about the pepakura system except that it looks like a pain in the royal bupkus. If you are up for the challenge, my lid goes off to you! Since nobody has directed you here yet (though you might already have found it), this is the first step toward getting approved. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11538 So the choice is yours - a lot of work and extreme satisfaction to ensure its accuracy for approval and membership; OR a faster, somewhat less challenging build of your own from approved armor-makers. (I say "faster" assuming it gets shipped to you faster than your sculpting of an entire kit... but you might be that good! ) Good luck!

Hi, queen of thigh problems here.... Not sure if your thigh armor would be considered problematic (probably not) for approval, but here's a recommendation. You could taper those a little bit at the bottom for a more "snug" fit. Undo the back, cut one side with a slant so it will be the same width at the top but narrower at the bottom, re-glue with strip. (The back of AP thighs isn't perfectly aligned so it's a bit of work getting the bottoms to line up again, but it can be done! ... ) You can also put some padding on the inside of the thighs on the OUTSIDE of the knee. This will help pull them outward and align a little better. Good luck!

I thought I was the only one who left tape in all this time! I used hockey cloth tape. Sticks great, easy to remove/reapply/adjust. A bit sticky in heat.

Well i say never measure yourself, have someone do it, even just a friend. Somehow you shift and fold and weird stuff happens when you measure yourself so things are off.

( A ) I agree wholeheartedly, Vern! and ( B ) I am not even sure what the difference between a prop replica and a whatever whatever is. (yet) As far as I'm concerned, when people come to FISD I'm thrilled and overjoyed because no matter what's up with their armor situation, being here pretty much ensures they're pretty serious about it and want to do the right thing by it. So it behooves us to make them feel welcome and work with them to help out. Not everyone feels the need to be superior all the time. ( C ) That's why I like virtual Twister

I made my own... it's a fun exercise in Photoshop. It uses the cover of my novel as the background, though. Not Star Wars. I figure it's just out in the Fringe somewhere.
