  1. It needs to join ROAD SQUADRON! Now I want to see the other two!
  2. I'll donate to the Chip In also. Also if you use FB or any social media be sure to put the word out. Email a few rescue groups. They get a lot of stories like this and can't help everyone, but you never know if you hit someone in a good mood. Also work out a payment plan with the vet, preferably one you can extend as long as possible, so that you aren't forced to cough it all up at once. I'm sorry to hear about the little pup. I will say one thing, though, you DID NOT let her down. The fact that you are still working on her and didn't give up is WONDERFUL! Be proud! And one of the greatest life lessons I've ever learned: Dogs don't know they're handicapped. Or if they do, they sure don't seem to let it stop them from enjoying life to the fullest We could all learn a bit from that!
  3. The cap rivets from the ebay site M listed above are pretty much exactly what i have, so YAY on that one! I currently have paper brads in there. M said the other day it feels cheap, and I don't want my Centurion to feel cheap, so I definitely want to do the easy swap on those. (That's the only place.) My knee gap bondo is dry and needs sanding, but that's almost looking good. My sniper plate is curing in a new position. It's crooked, and if you don't like it, bite me. ("Feisty" is my other handle.) I was considering changing my holster rivets to the screw-in kind (posts?) so I can use the same holster for my Navy Trooper NCO. Is that all right? (I could get another holster but probably not before I leave.) So, Eric, what are those "3 or 4 other things for centurions" that you would recommend? I don't guarantee I can hit them by the time this baby is packed and loaded for CVI transport on Friday, but like I said, I'll always be tweaking.
  4. Since I have to do something evil to my sniper plate, I might as well upgrade my six side-rivets as well. Anything else while I'm at it? Anything super critical, I mean? It's not like I'll ever stop tweaking this suit to be more perfect until it's retired to sandy or death. Unfortunately I am rivet challenged. I have some gorgeous flat jean rivets that I think would look fantastic (and shiny if I didn't paint them - I like shiny). Other suggestions that won't take a week or cost a fortune would be helpful. They're something like this. I currently have something in there that's more rounded (cap-like?). I don't know enough about all this rivet mumbo jumbo - good thing I like to learn as I go.
  5. It ain't going to be flush on both sides, or its going to be crooked. It's off by about 5mm and it's not going to be "forced" without cracking (it's already cracked.) Maybe it's better to be "too low" on the inside and flush on the more visible outside? This is why i riveted the f@*@*!*er in the first place. I need a beer. :pint1: :pint1: :pint1: :pint1: Or two. Last resort: I have an AM sniper plate I could put on that MIGHT work........... Thanks for your support, Tyler!
  6. Don't worry, Vern, I can out-Twister him!!! Right foot on red...
  7. How's this, peeps? Front left. It needs a little spit & polish, maybe a teeny trim at the bottom, but should be good to go, RIGHT!? RIGHT!??!!?!? This is the one where I have a problem. The right one is fine, also needs a little spit & polish but looks flush and decent. The left one, however... that is the way the pull is with that huge angle. The cover strip kind of covered it, but caused it to not be entirely flush. So I cut all the way up hoping it would be flush, but then the two knee ridges don't come together evenly at the bottom. They are like 3mm apart - not the gap, but one is raised and one is flat! So I shoved a shim in there to try to press it flat... but anyway now it's way too high and looks bad to me compared with the other one. (Frankly I think these all look bad, much prefer the cover strip all the way down. Ah well.) Also I clearly need to fill that gap with some paste and then spit & polish. * With the cover strip raised, can I cut a little more out of the back of the knee for comfort? It's my only armor bite area. *
  8. I glued the hell out of the two corners, clamped that mofo for 24 hours, left tape on it for another few days... and so far it seems ok. It is not entirely flush in the front (about 1mm gap), though I am considering some shims if I can hide them well enough. I've got so much to do before CVI... but I am going to do those thighs tonight! I've been waiting for this moment too long!!! Thanks, everyone, for your feedback, advice, and encouragement Oh, and Keith, I actually want to hand-paint them, but I'll get to that after CVI in case I botch it. I love painting. If only I could make a living painting clone and Tk buckets... Here's my question now: Which lines to cut on - red or blue?
  9. It's not going to be in line, because I do not want it pointing off ot the trooper next to me If I made the armor I would fix it in the pull If that stops my status I'd rather just "look great" If only I could lose weight off my hips and thighs instead of my arms and boobs! So I have to fix the thighs - for the fourth time. Damn I hate those !_*!_*@(U_!*(_@*@_*(#*(!@_!*!_*@#_*(@_* things. So much for this happening before C6!
  10. How come I never knew that! Wow. That is going to put a damper on the horrors that are my seams...
  11. Great job! I saved my helmet toward the end because it was so daunting. But then, i also had to trim my own...
  12. > 1st question are the tubestripes Handpainted? Nope. But those tears & traps sure are, and I take great pride in my hand painting. Tears/traps shall be hand painted or use decals that emulate hand painted (with correct ANH TK details). > 2nd question, leaning backwards? and i dont explain that again lol!!! Haven't you figured out yet that I'm a bit "unbalanced" ? > 3rd, the sniperplate sits too high on top of the calve, i know its tricky and i changed mine already since i couldnt fit it to my satisfaction. Define "too high" It sits just right as far as I'm concerned! My stupid thigh might be too low in the pic. EDIT: Oh I see, only the one side is pictured. The other side you might say is "too low" It's because I refuse to have the AP sniper plate be crooked by 15 degrees!!! So I glued it on "straight." > 4rth, cover strips already spottet I guess I need to see a pic of what you guys mean. It hangs about 1-2mm lower than where the under-curve/return edge starts... but I can trim more... > 5th you might make your Bizeps a bit smaller aswell. I do not have girl biceps > 6th the backplate overlaps the kidneyplate, i fixed it with connecting chest and back with black elastics. Actually it doesn't. The pic is a bit off balance. The outer corners sometimes do overlap a tiny bit if I bend or twist, but the back is flush, and held there by elastics I can see in one of the pics it might look like it because the return edge of the back bottom is bigger than the return edge of the kidney top. > "One question; what's that black strip showing from under the plastic on the right side of your belt? " Och, stupid velcro came undone when I put the armor on... my hub doesn't know to check for that. I'm lucky to get decent pics at all!
  13. Okay that looks like it's working. Better?
  14. I see I uploaded only web version, uploading the big ones now. For the main ones, anyway. You don't need super hi res to see all the close-ups, do you? If so I'll upload those too Crud, those aren't much bigger. Working on it!!! THIS WILL HAPPEN!!!

  16. This should also be the "FISD Brunch" list, right? How about the "FISD Corner at the Poolside Party" list? I'm all about trooping, eating, drinking (hydration, people!!! really!!!), and hugging people I feel connected to, even if only virtually.

It can be as brief or elaborate as you like, but you're not really going to "explain" any level of detail to fans, so even if you want to write up a detailed backstory, have the 10-second version ready to go. "I'm stationed on the Executor, and I'm here making sure Darth Vader's arrival will be safe." Once in a while, depending on the person and situation... I do this occasionally when the person IN the picture seems reluctant (mostly adults, teens), and the person taking the picture is kind of pushing them. It gives the picture-taker a bit of a reward for their efforts. However, it can be kind of "out of character" for an on-duty TK.
  18. Yes, very nice job, and jealous.
  19. Thanks, everyone! Glad to know my thinking was not insane. Trust me... it goes that way sometimes. If you're still paying attention to this thread - anyone have any tips on how to diminish some of the seams in the rubber? It seems if you sand you get... sanded rubber.
  20. That's the spirit - congrats, Anthony!!!!
  21. Cool! Where is the tin man now? And all those other fine figures?
  22. I love giving my money (as much as my time) to good causes Timing-wise, if there's any down-time, with CVI coming up and lots of new folks potentially ready to join "the right way" - eek, sounds like crazy decision-making. My question is this: is there any benefit to the Legion's new non-profit status to ensure donations are done correctly and individuals don't get dinged for taxable income?

SO AWESOME! Glad to hear it all went well and you DID enjoy yourself. One last thing... Ralf and I both do this... when it does get to that mob-for-pictures time, when you can't seem to strike another pose and your feet hurt and you're kind of bored, and you feel like a cog in a factory machine that just pushes other widgets along the assembly line... LEARN TO SLEEP STANDING UP. Nobody can see you sleep in there. Though you do have to kind of keep one sense awake, for that occasional fist-pump that you cant' see anyway, or the little kid who is nicking your O2... hehe
