  1. Way to go everyone! It was truly an honor to be a part of the build team, as well as being there in armor to present it to her. It was awesome to see the smile on little Katie's face get bigger and bigger as the armor went on piece by piece. Actually, it was hard to tell who had the bigger smiles, Katie, or all of us there sharing in her first suiting up
  2. See you guys in the morning! Cant wait to assemble this armor for Katie. I was there for the book signing event ( ahem, playing the part of Rebel Scum X-wing Pilot that night ) and met Katie and her Mom. What an awesome little girl and family. Here's a link to the story behind Katie's choice for a Stromtrooper http://www.chicagonow.com/portrait-of-an-adoption/2012/10/halloween-and-the-adopted-child-a-costume-is-more-than-it-appears/

  6. Thanks for the info, Im definatly in the market for some of these, and nice to know the size differential. And I will now stop crying about working outside in 0 degrees...if your walking to work in -28...you really need a set of TS armor, or catch a ride on an AT-AT :atatpilot:
  7. And an extra ab button Great captures Corey
  8. Great find...plan on being my next build as well :snowtrooper: Hope I can have some of your luck
  9. I've actually been using a few different glues on mine, E-6000, loctite epoxy for plastic, and CA zap a gap. I bonded my pistol grip with E-6000, and then after the 24 hour cure time, i used CA Zap-A-Gap (medium thickness) and basically filled the gap between the edges of pistol grip and the body. I also did this method for the stock as well. I have yet to have had a problem with mine.
  10. Hey all, just a quick question, may have been posted some where, but after going thru a ton of E-11 builds, i'm still at a loss. When attaching the scope rail to your resin E-11, how does one secure the front of the rail? I've seen that everyone uses a screw to attach the back of the rail thru the rear sight, but how do you attach the front? I see that a hole is made in the spot of blaster where rail goes, and rail has a notched end, bent at a 90 degree, and inserted in the hole. But is just presure against the front rail holding it in place, or is it glued, or is it something else? Thanks for insight, and sorry if this has been detailed somewhere else.

  16. Now I wanna go make a Green Lantern Stormtrooper " In brighest day, in blackest night, no Jedi shall escape my sight, let those who worship the Jedi's light, beware my power Green Troopers might"
  17. Sorry, my computer skills arent exactly stellar, but here is a "drawing" of what my TK belt will look like if I go as everything is trimmed right now. Hopefully this will let you see what im talking about. If it's ok that the canvas belt is wider then the area between the 45s on my belt face (as drawing shows) then I'm ok, however if the belt should be the same size as the margin between, then I must get a new belt, even tho mine is the size as spec'd in the CRL
  18. Hope Im posting this in the right place. Tried to find information but got mixed results. Im assembling a TK as we speak but have run into an area of question. My armor belt face measures 3 and 3/8", and my canvas belt measures 3 and 1/4". The question i have is after looking at film clips and talking to other TKs the canvas belt is the same size as the TK armor face of the belt after the 45s have been cut on the ends. With my armor, if i take small 45s, the belt face will measure about 2 and 7/8". With this in mind, my canvas belt will be 3/8" wider then the 45s cut. I read the ANH stunt requirements and they say canvas belt should be between 3" and 3.5" so if i go even the 3" belt it would be bigger then the armor face. Is this an issue or can i go with my 3 and 1/4 belt and have the armor face of the belt at the 45s be smaller? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

  21. Thats an awesome job man. I love the weathering detail. Sweet bucket
  22. That is awesome!!! Go team TK!
  23. I was thinking of a similar solution as kev brought up. i work on digital billboards, and of course the worse thing that can happen is moisture gettig into the display. To help combat this we cover the regular chips that stick up on the boards with 100% silicon caulk. its completely water tight, and also flexible. I dont have one of these systems (yet) but just curious if this could be a possible remedy. just by coating around the switches open areas, let cure and trim off the excess?
  24. Try a wet rag held to the underside to help keep the area cool and keep the plastic from warping
  25. Happy Birthday! Looks like it was a very productive one
