If work blocks proxy sites too, there's also a way of setting up your home PC to act as a proxy. I can't say I've ever had to do that but I'm sure a quick google will give you all the info you need
  3. Looks great Not sure I dare do this to my MR just yet but I'll keep it in mind for the next time I feel the need to fiddle with it
  4. I'm around 5' 8" and the FX fits me ok. I had to trim the chest a little and the thighs to get them smaller but nothing major. You should be fine I'd think you should go with a more accurate helmet though, if you can afford it. I just have the UK MR
  5. Same here really. I think I've seen TPM twice, once when it came out. I was so, so disappointed. I was 9yrs old and even I thought it was ridiculous. Pfft. The other prequels I've seen probably around the same. They just lack something. I love ANH and ESB to bits. ROTJ, not so much, the stormtroopers look different and there are Ewoks. (plus Vader dying and the Executor getting blown up makes me sad )
  6. When I found out one of my friends had NEVER seen Star Wars, we got her to my house and showed her the original trilogy in order. She then borrowed the prequels from a friend and watched them in her own time. Introduction was a success I think Even if she does like ewoks. Original trilogy first is the way to go for sure. I know TPM would have put me right off it had it been the first Star Wars I had seen.
  7. Congrats you look great, very nice work. That is a gorgeous E-11
  8. I don't actually remember watching Star Wars for the first time. I must have been shown them on video when I was 2 or 3 because I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. I remember being in complete awe of my sister's boyfriend's action figure collection (AT-ATs and wampas!) and I played X-Wing when it first came out, so I was 4 or 5, and I knew all about Star Wars by then. I was playing stormtrooper dress up at 5 after playing Dark Forces I remember being stoked about the Special editions, but I never saw them in the cinema
  9. Don't let them get to you. Face it, most kids are idiots, and too afraid to do anything that'd make them seem different or "dorky." I'd guess that most are just jealous that you have the balls to go do something out of the norm. I know that anyone who puts me down for doing something I love (and something that not only doesn't hurt anyone, but helps many) isn't someone I want to associate with anyway. So I don't let it get to me, and you shouldn't either Also, all my geeky pursuits over the years have done me nothing but good. While most people my age I know are milling around doing college courses because they don't know what else to do, I'm about to start a course at Uni that should put me on track for my dream job in the games industry. Awesome
  10. I often get called a geek, but I don't take offense All my geeky hobbies are fun and interesting - the 501st is fun, interesting, and for a good cause. Nothing to ever be ashamed of
  11. I'm 18 I've never seen the films in the cinema, but my brother is old enough to have and he was sure to make me watch them all when I was little
  12. I wish! If I'd found about it a bit earlier I'd so be there
  13. I want that game but it's not out for PC yet, grrr
  14. I still haven't got Call of Duty 4, I keep meaning to pick it up. I'm not big on multiplayer, but CoD2 is awesome online so I've no reason to doubt this
  15. That's great! Very cool I've been tempted to do similar for my Star Wars mad niece. She's already been searching for Rebels in my helmet, I think she is ready
  16. I didn't, no, I never figured out the time difference so I missed it I saw clips of it on youtube though.. I'm dying for them to come over to England again. I've seen em live twice and briefly chatted to them at meet n greets. They are great guys And Spoox, it's a small internet I used to post a bit on the old Disturbed forum and over at thedisturbedones.com (my membership ran out though). When I saw you posting over here I wondered if you were the same spoox. (Your photos are fantastic btw, do you mind if I use them as references for (non profit) artwork?)
  17. Ah I do love System of a Down But at the moment I'm really into and
  18. I had no idea how to use a rivet gun when I started but my friend demonstrated and they're simple enough Jonah explained it perfectly. Just be sure to use the right size washer so the rivet holds - that's where I went wrong at first
  19. Yeah >_< argh, why did they have to mess with it? Han not shooting first really irritates me. That's what made me love Solo! He was such a badass. Maybe it wouldn't irk me so much if they hadn't done such a bad job of it.. And when I see the new Jabba scene, I cringe. It was a nice idea and all, adding it in, but Jabba looks terrible. Maybe if it were done again with a better looking Jabba I could accept it :/
  20. That's very true - I much, much prefer models and puppets to CG, even if they look a little off at least they are real in a sense. When I see a CG scene it's immediately obvious that it's CG and it takes something away from the experience I find
  21. I'm not a fan of the changes. I don't mind what they did on Tatooine in ANH (though they made it rather childish) but I can't stand the new CG band sequence, or the new Anakin. I only own the theatrical version of ESB, I must get the others so I can watch them again
