TK-6764 Requesting ROTJ EIB Status[218][TE]
Kade replied to Nassik's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Congrats brother Does that make you the first EIB for the Desert Scorpions? -
Thanks Guys @ Arnie_DK: The armour is an AM kit. @Bluehickey and BananoPower22: Yup same here, the pauldron and shoulder pouch really do stop me moving the helmet to either side. @NastyNoah: Yes I did, mostly following Pandatroopers tutorial. It's taken me since before Christmas to build it but I am very happy with the results.

Hi all Just thought I would let you know that my GML let me know yesterday that my Heavy Weapon trooper has been approved and as I know how much you all love pics, here's a few. These were just snapped quickly while doing approval shots but in a couple of weeks time I'm hoping to do a proper photoshoot with a friend of mine who is a photographer, should get some nice shots out of that And before anyone says anything, don't worry, I am currently looking into finding a more accurate replacement for my AM bucket. I've been trying out contact lenses and that seems to be working out for me so I don't need to worry so much about fitting my glasses underneath my bucket anymore Now all I have to do is work out which helmet is going to be the best choice to go with my AM armour (and my budget)

Advice Needed: getting my hair in the helmet
Kade replied to crazybirdman's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Well, that certainly explains the minimal padding in the movie helmets -
Don't worry, I have absolutely NO intention of painting any parts of my blaster orange. As far as Supanova goes we had a TD with a T-21 there last year and we all were carrying our E-11s plus one of the guys had a DLT-19. Maybe as exhibitors we have different rules although there were plenty of people in other costumes wandering around with assorted weapons and vendors were selling an assortment of prop/toy weapons from swords to assault rifles. I think there is rules regarding things like nerf guns and so on, essentially they just don't want people running around with loaded nerf guns firing darts at anyone and everyone as a safety issue.

This is an awesome community to be a part of and I think I spend as much time here as I do on my Garrison's forum. FISD has the motto of Troopers Helping Troopers and this community goes above and beyond the call of duty in living up to this motto and it's not just about building armour and sharing info. It goes from little things like sending a fellow trooper a birthday message (thanks Ingrid, a few things had gone wrong that day and I was feeling a little down and your unexpected message really brightened my day ) to threads like the following where troopers reach out to their brothers and sisters for help and people step up. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19418 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19317 This place is awesome

Hi everyone I just wanted to show off a couple of pics of my newly built T-21 and also to say a big Thank You to Pandatrooper for his awesome tutorial and templates without which I don't think I would have been able to do this I'm still waiting for my enfield rifle slings to arrive and I have a custom soundboard on it's way as well to add some sound effects to the already installed lights.

Thanks for all the feedback people I dropped in to my optician today to see if it was even feasible for me to wear contacts and they are getting some trial ones in for me to try out and see if they are gonna work for me. Otherwise I will have to wait until the end of June for Supanova (our big comic/sci-fi/anime etc convention) to catch up with the rest of my squad and try out some different helmets. Cheers

walt first build.....aka rottie
Kade replied to walt's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Yup, when I first said to my other half "honey, I want to get a set of stormtrooper armour" she just rolled her eyes and walked out of the room She just loves it now though and so does our daughter who has now decided that she want to make a Princess Leia costume (sigh, a rebel, still it figures with a hippy for a mother ) -
I dunno, they seem a little pricey to me for a modded hasbro blaster, of course all the work is done for you...... The kit is definitely better value. It's not that hard to build an E-11, if you can put together your armour kit you can build an E-11. I bought a resin kit of the main parts (stock, grip, scope etc) and built a resin and pvc E-11 as my first project when I joined up. I hadn't done any model building like that previously either. I also have a hasbro with the doopy's kit and the pipe and resin build is heaps nicer. I just use the hasbro if I'm trooping around a lot of kids it was a good choice too as last time I did that some of the kids tried to lift my blaster from the holster while I was talking to some of the others, luckily my wrangler was on the ball cause I had no idea it was happening. I keep my good blaster for conventions and so on where people are a bit more respectful.

My nearly ready to ship TE RoTJ suit
Kade replied to Nassik's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Good to see it almost there Shawn, looking forward to trooping next to you in it -
Hi guys/girls I currently have an AM kit and bucket and have been starting to consider getting a new bucket. The thing is that I got the AM because it is larger than the other buckets (I know, I know) but that means that I can wear my glasses underneath it which is important for me as I am quite short sighted and really don't want to add that into the already limited vision of a TK So my question is, are there any other troopers out there wearing glasses underneath their buckets and if so what type of bucket? I have considered contacts but they don't work for everybody and that's yet another expense and I'd rather spend my money on other things. Cheers.

Hi Guys Just wanted to show some pics of my new pack, recently arrived here in Australia. It's a game style pack built by Quartermaster and while he has sent some of his TD style packs over here John said that this was the first time he had sent a game style pack. and with LED's I just want to say thanks again to John for this awesome pack and for the service he provided during the ordering, construction and shipping. I'm looking forward to the day I have the rest of the items I need to complete my HWT so that i can get some pics of the pack in action My intent is to have it ready for the Supanova Perth convention in June this year.

Stunt or Hero helmet!?
Kade replied to Nate Jangotat's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Agreed! (where's the Like button?) -
When I first told my partner that I wanted to set of stormtrooper armour she just rolled here eyes and walked away. That just made me even more determined that I was going to do it. Once she realised how much I wanted to do it she was ok with the idea and now that she has come along to a couple of troops and met some of my squad mates she loves it and thinks the 501st is fantastic, she's even toyed with the idea of a costume herself The suggestion of starting with the smaller bits is a great idea, my first purchase was a resin kit for a blaster which I had a fantastic time building and helped build my confidence for being able to build the armour. Remember, the big brown box of armour parts is quite an expense but it's not the only thing you will need so start getting some of the other parts together such as boots, gloves, body suit, holster etc. Work your way up to the armour.

Just a quick quote from the CRL Belt face is made of plastic (TK ammo belt). Belt proper is made of canvas, canvas covered material, leather, or vinyl, 3†to 3.5†wide. The color is be white to off-white. The drop boxes dangle from the sides of the front plastic belt (ammo belt) via white straps and are aligned under the plastic tabs of the ammo belt. Those are the base 501st requirements, if you want to go above that (EIB, Centurion) then a canvas or canvas covered belt is a must.
