Ahh, slightly different to mine. I took off the sides and the back, so I'm now able to sort out the TD. I'll get a set of clips of Jesse and I'll be good to go.

I prefer my helmet to look new. Never really 'got' the scratched paint and damaged look to a helmet, well not for trooping in anyway.

Not to hijack your thread or anything, but was your TD already assembled when you got it? If it was, did it have that ugly big piece of white ABS glued to the back that's supposed to be the belt hook? If so, how did you get it off and put on those nice metal hooks?

It's pretty much done. Decided to get rid of the shoulder velcro that was holding the chest and back piece and replace it with snaps. I've ordered a new belt from Mike, so I should get that in a week or so. I've got some front buttons coming from canada and some new gloves and hand-guards from Karin in Austria. Once everything comes back I'll be pretty much ready for picture submission. It's taken way longer than I thought, but I've been really lazy this week. Work's been a nightmare so I've not had the time or energy to do much.

Coming along nicely. I've had an idea about your shoulder bell issue. Why not make a velcro shoulder covers. Cut a 'pacman' shaped piece of velro and stitch the mouth of it together and then sew it on to your under-suit. Put some velcro on the inside of the shoulder bells and voilà ! Should hold nicely.

I have a rom/FX and it is truly awesome. You can customise the volume, the length of speech before static burst, how loud you have to talk for the mi to pick up your voice. I use mine with an aker amp and a wireless system. Pretty cool setup.

If you were to leave a 1" - 1.5" or so gap between your butt plate and your cut kidney plate, would this make the gap even less? As your belt is 3" wide, you could have no armour there as nobody would see it. I'm not 100% sure how it'd look, but you could give it a go.

Oh the snaps. Yeah I'm on hold again as I've run out of snaps. I've used about 25 so far and should have more on monday. I'm also waiting on a belt so I can ty and sort out my side closure. I'm not happy with it at the moment. I'm sure once you do get a belt and have everything together you can make it look better.

What's it look like with your belt on? Is there still a gap?

They are? You fooled me. Any chance you'd shae your secret? I need to do something to my belt at some point. I'll have to make 3 as I didn't even have one in the middle.

Armour looks very familiar Looking good so far. I notice your belt has those little squares that cover the snaps. Mine didn't have those. My build is currently on hold untill I get my belt back. Then I can take pics of me actualy wearing the damn thing.

Horrible acting with terrible dialogue. Virtualy no REAL locations almost everything was CGI. Midichlorians ruining the mythos of the force. Wantent disregard for plot development. Anakin being a whiny slave Leia. Inconsistant emotions. Lack of connection with the main characters. Nonsensical story arcs, clones! Jedi's are now complete idiots....etc. Heck do I need to go in to the utterly hillarious 'turn to the darkside' in RotS? I'm paraphrasing here but; Anakin: "Oh Padme, I love you so much I'd do anything to save your life and the life of my unborn child" Padme: "I love you too, Anakin. now let us embrace in a rather unconvincing manner" .....LATER.... Palpatine: "Ahh young, Skywalker, you are pretty awesome and those Jedi are all idiots for not trusting you" Anakin: "I'm somewhat concerned with the life of my wife I dream she will die because of this 'dream' I've been having" Palpatin: "Oh I used to know this fella who knew a bloke who could prevent death, but you need to learn the dark arts" Anakin: "Hmm. I just find the prequels to be more miss than hit and I had a giddy moment when I first saw the trailer to TPM and 'Duel of the fates' music video....Then I saw the film.

I'm in two minds about this. One one hand, episodes 1-3 were pretty naff, but it might be interesting to see them in 3D...but paying an extra premium is a bummer. I'm also wondering which version of Episodes 4-6 they'll do. Will lucas f*** around with them AGAIN?

Grrr fecking ears! I basicaly sanded and filed untill they fit (I'm STILL not happy with how they look from behind). I tried the drill them and screw them down in place but I didn't have much luck. I don't really think heating them would work either. Hopefuly you'll have more luck than I did. It also helps if the ears and the lid are the same and you don't have ears from one lid on a recasted lid.

Yeah try and have the back and kidney sections to meet and close on you, but don't make it so tight you can't breathe. Just make the straps big enough so they close on you. I've had issues with mine, so I've decided to add a velcro fastening on the right side as well as elastics on snaps.

Who's the seller on ebay? I got my armour from ebay from one of the sellers on 'the list'. I'd personaly advise against buying ANYTHING from any ebay seller. You can also get it cheaper from buying a kit from someone here on the forums. I've spent AGES trying to get my kit to look right, I've had loads of issues with it from poorly formed pieces to thin body parts.

Different kits are usualy different sizes. I don't know the exact sizes but FX helmets are usualy larger than the others. What hat size are you? Maybe someone can advise you better then.

I'm in the process of doing my armour and was rather lucky it was pre-trimmed, but it was WAY too big for me. Best thing to do is trim to the lines and then get some masking tape and mark where it fits you. Do this again and again BEFORE you cut to your size. Do this for the main limbs - calves, thighs, bicep and forearm. You might need help with the torso part. Depends how 'rotund' you are around the waist area. Pandatroopers build is a really good source of information and the lads here are more than happy to answer any questions - believe me, I've asked plenty....Even really 'dumb' ones.

Yeah make sure you use velcro on the backs of the calves or you'll never get them over your feet.....unless you're some kind of elastic man sort of like Dhalsim from street figher 2.

Am I the only one who doesn't care one bit about the oscars? Far too political and 'rigged' for my liking.

Oh was the bottom track supposed to be removed then? Err. I didn't cut mine off. As for the notch, I just filed it down untill the folding stock would fit over it.

Ok cheers fo the replies. I'm going to put a snap in the shoulder and the bicep and connect it with elastic so it all holds together as one piece. I'm also thinking of adding a strip of black elastic to also connect the forearms so it's all one piece. If I did add elastic from the bicep to the forearms, where should I put it? On the inside of the arm?

Reading the requirements it mentions 'little to no' bicep armour under the shoulder bells. Looking at mine, which have NOT been cut or anything, there seems to be possibly too much under the shoulder bells. Is this OK or not?
