  1. Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am working on this too... Since I am not going to use a holster, are the snaps on the ab necessary? Thanks
  2. How much is it to have a completed suit if you make some of it yourself (skin body suit, etc.)?
  3. Looks great! I hope to start on mine this weekend. I hope you don't mind if I use some pics of all your flamethrower builds for ideas and reference. If you don't mind me asking, what do you use as the "tube"? What I saw at Lowe's was some pretty thick PVC, and it has me worried about weight. Thanks
  4. Hey everyone, I was checking out this thread on RPF: http://www.therpf.com/f9/dlt-19-foam-pvc-90226/ In his first post, the link is broken for the templates, does anyone have these or know where to find them? Thanks
  5. Got my elastic on ebay:-----
  6. And also one of these-----------
  7. Something like this all-in-one unit perhaps? ---------- They have different ones
  8. lol, I had to lower my back plate a bit so all the pieces sit flush and there are no gaps between the kidney, butt, etc. I originally had the six ridges on the front, but the bridges were barely long enough, so I decided to do 3 instead so I have a little leeway.
  9. Thanks guys, picked up some 2" PVC today. They didn't have grey, so it looks like I am going to have to paint.
  10. Out of curiosity, who was the vendor?
  11. I have an ATA kit, and I didn't have anything like that on my helmet.
  12. Hey everyone, I am going to try and get my thermal detonator put together this evening. What size pipe do I need? I saw in the CRL the pipe needs to be 2-2.5" but don't the end pieces need to fit snug? I have an ATA kit. Thanks
  13. I personally couldn't put all 6 ridges on the front. I think i did about 3 so the bridges would actually reach to the back plate.
  14. It was probably a bad idea, but since the winter is usually so harsh here I painted 3/4 of my kit in the spare room of my apartment. Drop cloths top to bottom with both windows open and floor fans in them. Turned out alright But yea, the can should tell you about temperature and humidity.
  15. Hello everyone, I bought a gotarmor neckseal a month or so ago and I was wondering if anyone else has this same problem. The neckseal seems to be too tall for my neck, and it makes it uncomfortable to wear. Have any of you cut the neckseal to make it shorter?
  16. Thanks for the compliments everyone!
  17. Thanks!, I will add that to my to-do list.
  18. So in my incinerator pics, I need to flip them to be ANH? Thanks I might as well wait until I can get a belt, should help it out like darktrooper said
  19. Hello everyone, in this thread, I was told my kidney plate was upside down: ---- I switched it before my latest test fit, and I am told it looks upside down still:------ Which way is correct? One side of my kidney plate has a much larger return edge, and at the moment that is facing down. Should it be up? Thanks
  20. I really need to mark on it which side is up. Ill do that now. Thanks One side has a lot more of a return "edge", does that side go up or down?
  21. Thanks Erik I just used some rustoleum enamel spray paint, and including the white base paint I probably spent a total of $15 dollars on all the cans I needed. I had never taped anything off like this before, but it only took me about two days to tape it all off and paint. It probably wasn't the best way, but I tried to get the tape as close to where I wanted it as possible, then I took my exacto and very lightly scored any excess that needed to be took off, then peeled it. It worked pretty good for me, and it didn't cut the paint under the tape. The weathering was really fun. I just scuffed it all up a bit with some steel wool, then took some 400 grit and folded it and used that to make the bigger scratches. Then just watered down some black acrylic, brushed it on and wiped off. Took me about 2 hours.
