  1. Does the ATA kit come with the finishing strips and shims? Thanks!
  2. Hello everyone, I will be putting in my order for an ATA set in the next couple of weeks, but I would like to get everything I need to prevent any delays in assembling. I read that the ATA suit pieces have to be butt jointed with finishing strips....does the kit come with these strips? Will i need a rivet gun, and if so what rivets do i need to buy. As far as glue goes, all i have now is a new tube of E-6000...will this be all i need? Please feel free to suggest things i may want to pick up for the build. Thanks for the help!
  3. Does the ATA kit come with the canister for the back? If not where can i pick one up. Thanks
  4. Hello everyone, I will soon be buying an ATA armor set, and had a couple of questions. I know that most helmets come with the decals, but am I right to assume that i will still have to paint the ears and the chin? I found a really helpful paint color guide here on the site that i will use if it is true. Also, the ATA suit is HIPS plastic and that I will have to paint or polish it. Which would be easiest or look best? If I have to paint it, what paint brand is recommended? Thanks for your help
  5. Hello everyone, I plan on ordering a suit of ATA armor in the next month or so, and I had a couple of questions. I want to be able to join the 501st, so I want to be able to do things right and how they should be the first time around, and not have to go back and change anything, but I looked at the CRL here on the site and there are so many different variations I don't know where to start. What would be the best (easiest) to accomplish with a set of ATA between ANH, ESB, ROTJ and etc. Also, "Applicants should contact their GML for all costume requirements." What does GML stand for? Lastly, what is shimming? I imagine its trimming or cutting the armor or something to that effect, but i haven't been able to find anything about it specifically here on the site. Thanks for your help.
  6. Can someone please tell me how to remove the cap with the hole in it that is on the back of the Hasbro E-11? It seems to be glued in place. Thanks for the help
  7. Thanks Panda, I will pick one of those up.
  8. What drill bit did you use for those holes?
  9. Hello everyone, I read at some point about modding or reshaping the trigger on the Hasbro E-11 to be movie accurate. I cant find where i read that or any pics of what it should look like. Can someone help me out and tell/show me what to do with the trigger? Thanks guys
  10. Hello everyone, Have any of you made something similar to the Hyperdyne E-11 kit on your own? The price seems pretty extreme, im guessing it would be much cheaper to make it yourself. Thanks
  11. Hello everyone, I have been reading up on this site for a little over a week now and I have come across so many abbreviations that I am finally giving in and asking for someone to lay them all out of me. Can you guys please tell me what all the abbreviations on this site mean? I would ask about some specifically but I have seen so many I don't know where to begin. Please tell me all the ones you can think of. Thanks for your help!
  12. Where can i find a tutorial or kit for this? Thanks
  13. Thanks everyone for the helpful comments! Could you tell me what you mean by dry brushing, or point to me a thread that talks about it? Thanks again, Michael
  14. Hello everyone, While im saving up the money for my first suit of armor, I thought I would get started on a Hasbro and the doopydoo kit. I have ordered them both today, but I had a few questions about things I need before they arrive. I read on a separate post that E-6000 craft glue is recommended, is this still what everyone thinks I should use? Also, I plan on further modding it with some actual Allen bolts (what size would i need?), as well as the wires for the Hengstler box (where can I get wires that curl like they should? a corded telephone?) I would also like to weather this when I am done, so how should i paint this? Im guessing I use silver as a base, then paint it black and lightly sand it to reveal the silver in some areas. Sorry for all the questions, but I want to have most of what I need when they arrive. Thanks for your help
  15. Will I be able to get the ATA to meet 501st standards?
  16. Hello everyone, I am new here on the forums and have been looking at the various sets that are recommended on here. I am considering buying an ATA set, but before I do I want to know if it will be able to fit my body type. I am 5ft 11, and i weigh 195lbs. I am not skinny and I'm not large either, just kinda in the middle. Thanks in advance, and hopefully i put this in the right forum section.
