  1. for my belt i had no issues... the heat gun trick looks great, but i didnt do anything like that. it might be best to use that trick, but though its a little tricky trying to find a good placement and all that, mine came out fine just bolting it the my armor. just in case you might not be good with a heat gun. but that did come out nice panda...
  2. yeah seamless would be good and the heat gun trick looks great. but, didnt think i needed to do that at first and then the part snapped. so since it was already broken... break it the rest of the way. lol. besides its an AM suit... fanscupt partially anyways why not add a lil scupting to a personal touch? screen accurate is great, but im not going for 100% on my next suit i will though
  3. i think you did a fine job dear sir let me know how that leak turns out. lol.
  4. ok so i've been meaning to upload these pics for about a week now, figured well with my knee surgery i'll have time. lol. between me being lazy and going out and doing stuff i shouldn't (painful yet fun. lol) i'm finally getting around to this. ok so i was finishing my AM build and the ammo belt for the right knee wasn't working with me too well. i think it should be slightly redesigned, but w/e it looks good just a little tricky for me i guess. anyways it was put on with a glue gun and i was going to come back with some e-6000 in spots, but before i could it was coming off, so we had to redo it (midri helped with a good portion of my suit) anyways between two of the blocks (i dont know what to call them... ) there was a week spot in the plastic and it snapped in two. i held composure but deep down wanted to cry haha. anyways, midri came up with the idea of cutting them into individual parts and using fabric between them to reglue them, and they'd fit better around the thigh guard. kinda glad it happened because i think it came out great. little bonding time with a dremel and patience and here we are, so i took a few pics along the way. figured in case this happens to anyone else, it'll help them and they wont have to worry about just replacing the part. for the white fabric i used some extra white elastic, stips just a little shorter than the part, and used them sideways, so that they would't actually stretch. here's the results btw i can't take much credit for the salvaging of it, it was mainly all midri's ideas, i was just the guy doing the actual work. lol. i hope these might help someone who might have the same problem. or if you're just having issues putting it on, i'd say do this maybe. turns out nice. basically to split them apart the little "crack" line, or w/e you want to call it, the little dip in between the blocks to give the look of separation... to do this, just take an exacto and make a good cut along that line. dont worry if you make it perfectly straight, close is good enough. then naturally bend them until they snap. use your dremel and then some fine sand paper to round and straighten out the edges and corners. then take some white elastic and cut it to where its just a little shorter than the plastic. line the edges with hot glue from a glue gun and hold it in place. dont worry it seals nice and it's not too hot to burn you provided you dont get it directly on your skin, even then it's not too bad. but as long as you have the elastic between your fingers and the glue, you're fine. then after doing this enough times, you're done. doesnt take too long. anyways, hope this might come in handy. ask any questions or give any thoughts. i hope i explained it right. lol.
  5. you're a brave soul. lol
  6. tx are beautiful suits. cant wait to see yours
  7. yeah, my girl was starting to get fussy about me working on my armor so much as opposed to paying attention to her. lol. she's very glad im finished.
  8. their sneeky sneeky lil guys. lol.
  9. ah yes. i remember that day... mine wasnt as dramatic, but still. congrats on receiving the great brown box. its rather fun yet very aggravating project building the suit. mine was a love/hate thing. lol. cant wait for more pics.
  10. that's an awesome idea
  11. that has to be the most hideous thing i've ever seen i cant see someone actually wearing it.
  12. i store an extra set of batteries in mine, the part where it looks like two rectangles... just made a little storage space there... i plan to make a water pack for the hot days and put it in there. that or i'm going to put a fan in there to help keep me cool.
  13. also hobby lobby has it
  14. i'd say size 10... i wear 11 dress shoe and 9.5 sketchers.... 10 fits me fine
  15. i think they'll be alright. the velcro part will be covered up. sure their not totally screen accurate, but they look good enough to get by in my opinion..
  16. its a tricky one http://tkboots.com/ that's what i wear. size 10 if it matters to people. lol. their great to work with and they respond to their emails really quickly. almost any time of day. i plan to get a shoulder pouldron from them soon.
  17. AM you can tell the shins apart, but the overlap is on the wrong side. i have a thread about that actually. lol. lots of confusion involved there
  18. i love how everyone was able to pull this off. it's amazing how such a great thing came from this bad event.
  19. my ab plate and td are still under construction. these pics were taken before my velcro was put on my shin guards. the shins are tighter looking now. at the time we were just seeing how things looked in general. i wasnt wearing my legs parts in the one pic for some reason or another, i think it was just a test fit of the torso and i just threw on the arms for the heck of it. good catches though guys
  20. well either way, it works great, though some times its a bit tricky to open, but that's good cuz you know it wont open on its own. but your lil box is sweet. lol.
  21. ok so it's taken me quite some time to finally be where i'm at and though i really do owe several people a good ole "thank you" i'd have to really sit down and figure out who all helped me along the lines. everyone has been of so much help to me. but i have to give an especial thanks to Midri... he's put a fair amount of time into my suit helping me along the way and especially tolerating a lot of stupid questions through the process. we've gone out in armor twice now and i'm thinking there's really not much that i need to do left to not have much discomfort while suited up. i'll be rather handicapped here soon since i'll be having my knee surgery, but by the time i'm up and about i'll be applying for the 501st and naturally i'm going to try for EIB status. this has been a long time coming, so as opposed to rambling on and on, here's the pics it's an AM suit with an RT-mod helmet sorry for the pic quality, it's taken with my iphone any thoughts are defiantly welcomed i'll be making a list of my thank yous to everyone that really came through for me for when it's all complete. but untill then i just want to say everyone has been so much help
  22. i stole midri's idea and use my drop boxes to store my debit card and license. it works pretty well im happy to say but i'm going to be working on modding my armor to put stuff in rather soon. i have a few ideas
  23. that's really great news i'm glad we were able to help him get back into some good ole white armor
  24. i've gotten all three gens of the iphone, i like what it can do but it has SOOOOO many flaws its rather annoying. apple really needs to have more reliable stuff, but my thoughts... i have an iphone, i cant reason with getting an oversized ipod touch... but the idea is cool. i'd just be afraid it'd have the flaws of the iphone
  25. PP sent. glad to help.
