  1. Happy birthday!
  2. I too have noticed that many of our beloved members here sometimes confuse the requirements of EIB with those of Centurion. I like think that they only have the best of intentions when edging on others to go even further with their build. Obviously I can't control what people say in topics like these (nor do I want or should do that), but rest assured that when I judge a costume for EIB that I limit the requirements of that costume to what is actually required. For Centurion I do have a somewhat more demanding view on things. I wish for Centurion grade builds to not only check the boxes of requirements, but to be built in a loving and careful manner and that any kind of sloppyness is made intentionally rather than out of ignorance for how the original costumes were built.
  3. Trim the ears. You can do it!
  4. There is no definitive answer. That's why you can't find it. But if you want a generalized rule of thumb: calves-20 mm thighs-20 mm biceps-15 mm forearms-15 mm back of the calves-25 mm
  5. Using acetate on the eyes is most certainly 501st approved, Vern. The only requirement is that it's dark enough.
  6. It's a know bug. I have it too.
  7. Being nice and civil always applies to everyone. Some need to be reminded of it more than others. But it still applies to everyone.
  8. I can't see an ear rank in the front ear bumps of either Robs lid or the screenshot. It's just a shadow imo. Leaving the ears that fat, with the visible trim lines (that AP made on his ears to ease on trimming) does look funky, and I would not want any, nor is there any screen proof of any ears that fat. Not even the high brow "move along" helmet has that fat ears, but he has the highest brow we know of. But that's okey. It's your helmet Vern, and you do with it as you wish. But to all of you: Be civil.
  9. The original helmets are inconsistent and a bit sloppy in the way the stripes were painted, but I'm pretty confident in that the line was intended to be painted on top of the bump. And so far I've never seen an ANH helmet with more than 1 line per ear, and lines on other than on the last two bumps.
  10. With lack of better references, 1 single black stripe on either the last or second last bump of each ear is a good solution.
  11. There's no closeup picture, but I see it from the full body pictures.
  12. I'm not agreeing on it because I don't like the fact that I can disapprove a centurion request because the shoes are not dirty enough, but I can't disapprove it because the armour is built/assembled wrong. Nor does it look very good if your armour is spit polished and super shiny, and your boots have to be dirty and scuffed. I'd like to see either both or none. Not a mix match.
  13. No brainer indeed! Approved. Good work trooper. You should made UKG proud.
  14. Very nice! Looking forward to seeing the test pulls.
  15. I would say never rivet your blastic belt to anything other than your canvas belt. Secondly, it's very risky to use heatguns or open flames. It's very easy to mess up. A safer way it to boil it for a minute or two, or pour boiling water on it over the sink. But with quality armour it shouldn't even be needed. The rivets to the canvas belt will force it into shape over time.
  16. Yes, it would be a lot of work to undo if you do overlap assembly. I do think however that those who want to become centurions do their homework ahead and know to use cover strip assembly where applicable. The scuffed boots requirement is something I'm not agreeing on and have mentioned it, so maybe during the next revision that'll change. I don't know. I'm not the sole man in charge.
  17. Yes, the ab doesn't align with the cod. It's in the original design and something previously only available on the TM suits. It can also be seen in the LFL archive pictures.
