  1. It's really easy. Just get yourself a "laxan scissor" (it's a $10 item) for the curved cuts and a metal ruler and x-acto or similar for the straight cuts. Buying untrimmed "forces" you to make your armour your size and not someone elses. And should you not be a perfect fit for a trimmed kit, you would still have to trim it to make it fit, thereby spoiling the pro's of buying trimmed. When you're not using any power tools it's very hard to "ruin" any parts since you're going slow enough to see what you're doing well before it gets out of hand.
  2. The same goes for the outermost "teeth" that you don't cut out. The helmet is missing the last two grey spots. Should be almost like little triangles to make the frown taper out instead of getting the dead stop. The tube stripes are abnormally large as well. There's also a ton of trimming that could be improved all around the armour where too little has been removed. The front of the thighs should ideally be re-done as there's a this very wide raised area where it should only be as wide as the cover strip. If you did this for fitting purposes, it's a lot better to have a bigger shim in the back than leaving too much on in the front. The drop boxes still have flashing around the edges that should be trimmed off and the TD belt clips are nothing like originals. Too slim and too tall. And the knee belt is fastened too high up the thigh and with the rivet in the wrong place. I know I'm not talking about EIB requirements now, but adjusting these things will vastly improve your overall look. Making you a better looking TK. I'm assuming that is in your interest.
  3. Yes. Always try to keep your armour flush against your body (as much as comfort permits).
  4. Can't you just close the chest around you once you have your head in place? I do that.
  5. YES. You did the right thing coming to this forum before buying anything. Now stay smart and stick around. Do some research here and you'll learn why that ebay kit is like a science experiment gone horribly wrong.
  6. Stay away!
  7. That is because the EIB list is auto-generated and gets it's data from the database. Someone of the Outpost spelled it differently than the other person and caused that. I'll try to find the member and edit his info.
  8. That's true, they are a little low.
  9. Here's a Mk2 helmet from the "identities" exhibit. I hope it helps.
  10. Thanks. No doubt that you've done a great job on this. But there are still some issue to be addressed. Specifically better glued down hand guards, as mentioned earlier. The excess of the belt should be cut off so it doesn't have that "tail" and a new thermal detonator as well. A new pair of shoulder bells would be highly recommended as well. Or at least heat formed to be less bulky in relation to your smaller body.
  11. Sounds like you're talking about the good old Troopercom. A small circuit board with a reed switch in the ear that switches between audio to the amp or audio to a walkie talkie for event coordination.
  12. Actually, the incinerator is more like the reverse, with a ROTJ-like armor and an ANH-like helmet.
  13. These should fit ----------
  14. I don't see why Paul would or should make these sets any cheaper than the full size ones. It's in large part not the plastic you're paying for when you buy armour. Especially something that is sculpted. You're paying for the long time Paul spent making the moulds and his expertise at vac forming.
  15. Then I suggest using the non counter sunk type. I used counter sunk, but my clips from Jesse have counter sunk holes so it made sense to me. For holes that aren't counter sunk a non counter sunk screw should be a better fit (and I doubt the SW costume department would take the time to fix the clips like that on all 50 or so detonators).
  16. Any flat head screws would work in my opinion. May want to get the counter sunk variant though.
  17. I have seen some pretty weird ways to do it, but they seem happy with their (to me) cumbersome ways.
  18. Wow Paul! Those are really indistinguishable from the full size parts!
  19. Still no. If you can afford a $300 ebay item that likely will cost more than that at the end of the day, you can afford ATA. Also, keep in mind that this is not a cheap hobby. If you can't afford it now it's better to wait and save up than to buy on impulse. And the costs doesn't stop at getting armour, you also need blaster, boots, tools, glue, undersuit, etc...
  20. Nope! Don't waste your money on that thing. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=11538
