Like I said earlier, it's not my call on that matter anymore. I'm fine with okey'ing the cap rivet method as long as it's done properly. The LMO is the one who makes the call now though, but he's AWOL.
Billy: Thanks!
Like most things there is a compromise between price and quality. You can't have both low price and good quality. ATA is close, but shipping from the US will make it a bit more expensive.
Rob was kind enough to share his CNC files and other plans he used in this wonderful build for others to benefit from. So they are now hosted on the FISD server right here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/article-resources/PDFs_and_edwg.zip (also linked in 1st post).
Big kudos to Rob!
If you're looking for something different than your AP / ATA then there's little point in getting T/MC (sorry Tray!). The differences are not big enough to warrant the costs. Better to save your pennies and get TM or RS at a later date.
Maybe your trooping culture is different, but I've never needed to carry such things with me at a troop. There are handlers or locked dressing rooms for that. And I recommend doing some actual trooping before starting any grand engineering schemes becuase in 99% of the cases people over-think their situation.
The m19 scope was also used in ANH. And there is no proof of any coloured wires in the movie. The closest thing is a rare promo picture. The few frames you see wires are non-coiled black wires.
