VT Armor build
RogueTrooper replied to generalFROSTY's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Jimmy, congrats on your kit. If I may suggest, wait to work on the shins, you want to make sure that you allow enough room for your boot and undersuit at the ankle area. In fact when doing test fittings, make sure you are wearing your undersuit or something tight and clingy fitting. Believe it or not, a t-shirt and jeans will change how the armor fits you. When it comes to your body armor start with your forearms and biceps. Go to this link and it will help you with your forearms and biceps: http://www.whitearmor.net/home/tutorials/armor-tutorials/arms.html Here is a link for the basic tools that you are going to need: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=11760&st=0&p=145580&hl=basic%20tools&fromsearch=1entry145580 Also, unpack everything and make sure you have all your parts and that they are in good condition. Just take a deep breath, take your time and enjoy your build. Rule of thumb, measure 4 times, cut once! Take lots of pix and if you have any questions, or need advice, just post. -
Every time I have seen one of the M19's or M32's, I have never seen any foreign object on them or on other of those style vintage scopes. I am taking a stab at it and saying it is probably some little found greeblie that someone in the prop department thought it would be cool to glue on there. But you know as well as I do, it will drive us all nuts and we will spend hours and hours searching for it. Hopefully with the Blu-rays coming out we will be able to spot more little things, but I guess we will all have to wait until then with anticipation like children on Christmas Eve.

Hey Karin, Congrats on you 1000th post,....but more congrats on sticking around us guys, not too many women could put up with us! Cheers to your next 1000.

What I was having reference to is the scope that you are using is not canon with the ring bracket, why not remove that, fill the area of the socpe and make it more canon. Other than that, you have done an excellent job and I love what you do with your electronic modules. To John Danter: The scene where the captured Princess is brought forth to Darth Vader in ANH, the scope that you said had the ring bracket was either an M19 or an M32 and neither one of those ever had a ring bracket. But, what you thought was the ring bracket, looks to me to be some foreign greeblie stuck on top of it. Please look at the diagram that I made below:

What happens to the remaining TKs after the Empire falls!

Here Adam, you can read about the Rubies TK costume: http://starwarshelmets.com/rubies%20Stormtrooper%20Armor.htm -
Yea, sorry about that, my bad, I was at work at the time when I posted that. I had helped Graham/tk7713gra30 with his ESB E11 that he is working on. For some weird reason I got you two mixed up. That goes to show ya that you can't mix work with fun... Now I hope I didn't leave my watch in the patient that I was operating on that day... I keed! I keed! Well, at least the link has the right info for ya.

Awesome job Erv, fantastic, you put a lot of great work into your E11. Thanks for sharing! I love everything about your X model, but the one thing, the scope mount. If I may ask, why did you use the original ring bracket for the scope? I know that it is the original way that the A2, C and D model scopes were mounted in WWII. But, why not fill in that area of the scope and make it look like the regular M38's, M40's, M47's and M77's , then mount it like the scopes were in the movie.

That's what I said above when I posting the video. + the black area of the chin is missing when one of the TKs is on the phone.... What is up with that!?!?!?! -
Here is a funny video about some Unemployed Stormtroopers. If you can get over the bad Rubies costumes, and the way they wear them (upside down biceps, too low AB section, and missing chin area, etc...) then you will get a laugh!! Enjoy.

Slacker's Armor Build [*VT]
RogueTrooper replied to Slacker's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Hey Mike, looking forward to seeing your finished suit. BTW, If you are needing a tutorial + downloadable templates for your E11 pipe build, here is the link to it over on the Blaster Builder Club: http://www.imperial-fleet.com/BBC/community/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2 -
Yeah I was thinking you should make it into one of the lids from the Ewok BBQ/victory party. You know if those little Rabid Teddy bears were going to eat Han, Luke, and Chewie, then you know darn well they had TKs and TBs on the menu at the end.... I would hate to have been in that buffet line. Almost as bad as the dinner at the Palace in "The Temple of Doom" huh...what... come again, eye ball soup, live eels.... chilled monkey brains, .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y_lkWaP0Lw

Awesome!! Very cool David. Are you going to run an electronic module (sound/lights)in it? -
Here is the link so you can download the ANH Blastech E-11 Templates File size: 2,377 KB which will have the two below in it as well: ---------- Basically, The ANH E11 and the ESB E11 is the same Sterling SMG but with different greeblies. The ESB Stunt E11 (solid resin cast) will have the muzzle filed down. On your other post where you asked about the scope and greeblies for the ESB E11, so you know what you are looking for, when it comes to the greeblies. Below is front sight template/blueprints from BLASTER BUILDERS CLUB TUTORIAL.

Sixxgunn13's build.. well slow build.
RogueTrooper replied to sixxgunn13's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Happy to help, bro. You are correct about making the sockets shallower, by trimming away a little bit more material in certain areas of the eye socket area. The three diagrams below I made for you indicates kind of where you need to trim out, if you are doing an ESB lid. Study the pix that I posted for you before. Make you a pencil line on the areas around the eye socket where you are going to trim. Take it slow when trimming. It is easier to do a little bit at the time and not make an oops, than to trim too much at one time and can't go back. If you are uncertain about exactly where you need to trim, just make a pencil line where you think you need to trim and post the pix. I will give you my opinion. -
Peter's AM Build[*AM]
RogueTrooper replied to peterAP2's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
The reason you have not seen this diagram is because I personally made the diagram especially for you, Bro. I do that quite often to help out. I have alway said a picture is worth a thousand words. As for the butt plate, is it too low and feels like it is to far away from your butt? If this is the case then try trimming a little bit off of the top off the butt plate to get it closer to where you feel more comfortable. Like Terry did here with his AM build. He trimmed the top off of the butt plate and then took a hobby heat sealing iron to recreate the return edge on the top of the butt plate (see below). One thing, the butt plate isn't suppose to fit like a pair of jockeys, but with a little tweaking you can get it at least comfortable. BTW, how are you doing after having you wisdom teeth pulled? Sometimes those suckers are in there deep! I hope you are feeling better. -
You can read and see about the original screen lids over on this link: http://starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-helmets-sub-submenu.htm If I may suggest, before doing anything to you eFx lid maybe look at getting a lid from one of the vendors here (some lid kits start at $125.00 and some of the "B" stock lid kits are well under $100.00). I think you will have more fun and end up with a lid that you will be happier with. Either way you go, just mull over your options, and look at the mod tutorial that I gave you the link to see if you want to put that much time, energy and money into your EFX. See which is the best way for you to go, modding your EFX or buying a more accurate lid kit, and going that route. >

TKs can't shoot straight but they can play Rock Band. :headphone: go figure....
-
Your local cloth/fabric stores will have the snaps or pliers. Also some hobby/craft shops have them as well (Hobby Lobby, Michaels)

If you want my opinion, go with white gaffer tape all the way. Why not, that is what they used in the original films to hold the TD's and TK's together when al else failed. But all kidding aside, there two ways you can go. One is idealized and one is screen accurate. Idealized would be using the snaps, the other is screen accurate with the metal brackets, rivets, etc. Just like Brian said above, the different kits can determine how you put them together. For reference, I bought a TE2 kit and unfortunately the way Tony, who makes the kit, the way he rough trimmed certain parts of the armor kit, he did not leave enough of a return edge/lip on certain areas. So, I cannot use the screen accurate bracket method on it. I have been trying to figure out a method to adding a lip there that will be stable, but still would not trust it even after that. So, if you do go with the screen accurate bracket method, make sure you armor vendor does leave enough room for doing the screen accurate method. The snap method is going to be the most practical way to go, and in the long run will hold up the longest of all. It is all up to the individual on what they want to do with their armor. ------
