  1. I believe the straps holding your drop boxes must be white, they look to be black.
  2. post a few pics so we can see how everything is attached. if you know what kind of glue was used that would help. I've been able to pry off glued on pieces, sand the area to remove remaining glue and then glue a new piece. Though it depends on the type of glue used. It its an ABS welder then not sure what you can do. If you have snap points already on the armor, then you just need to make new strapping.
  3. I can't decide if I'm ruining my 8 yo nephew or not. First I showed him my AP armor, blew his mind. Then I built him his own armor out of foamie foam. He loves it. He was a bit surprised that JoAnn Fabrics sells blaster proof material but I told him its a secret outlet for the empire. He also thinks I spend the weekends on the Death Star. So now to make things worse I sent him a letter from Darth Vader. I created letter head using the red circular logo for the 501st on the top left and on the bottom center I posted the Garrision Titan logo which shows up below any of my posts. I then typed in text welcoming him to the legion as a JUNIOR Stormtrooper. I even assigned him a TK number and signed it lord Vader. I used the same formatting that Daetrin uses on our garrison site to welcome new members to the garrison. I wanted to post the letter on here cause it looks so real but I can't figure out how to link to a word doc. Anyhow, he took the letter to school to show his teacher and his friends. He was so excited. He really thinks Vader sent him a letter. I knda mentioned to him the last time I visited that during the night Darth Vader blew up the moon while everyone was sleeping and parked the Death Star in its place, LOL. I am really terrible
  4. the arms look totally wrong. They are really loose fitting, not form fitting like in movie pics. the shoulder straps also look way off.
  5. You got all that done in one day??? Wow you work fast. Did you have the helmet already?
  6. Way to go Christian. Congrats. Good idea shinning the light inside the helmet so we could see the green lens.
  7. I think a lot of us use a cloth strap to support the weight and the white plastic straps are just for looks. I'm pretty sure a fair number of troopers don't even secure the white straps to the back plate.
  8. R U mixing any vodka in that pineapple, bananna, orange juice????
  9. Tony, Here's wishing you a speedy recovery and don't let the bastards get you down. Jim
  10. I've had my TD fall off a couple of times and would not have noticed if it hadn't make such a racket when it hit the ground. Of course I didn't know it was my TD at the time. I like the travel pouch hanging around your neck for money, keys, etc. I wear contacts. I have very small glasses and find it very hard to fit them in my AP helmet. As far as fogging goes, TK9323 and I are working on mods for that problem. He found that you install some neoprene above the mouth and press your face into it, it prevents your breadth from reaching the lens. I have not been able to fit my helmet that tight so I tried installing a thicker foam above the mouth all the way across the mouth. It forces all of your breadth out of the mouth opening which really helps reduce fogging. I have not trooped with this yet so no final report on this mod. I can say from past experience, most of my fogging happens when I have to talk to people or breath thru my mouth. I think this will help a lot. I also added slots to the back of my helmet for venting, will update on that thread with pics when I'm finally done with the mod.
  11. Never mind I figured it out. Its an avatar. Ok, I notice most guys on here have a pic or image that shows up on the left hand side of the screen when they post a response in a thread. I added a small pic to my profile but I guess that is not the same thing. So how do I do this???
  12. I was thinking Krylon as well. Ah, the blaster is all back, so no need for that part. I want to add silver paint for some detail.
  13. anybody have paint type suggestion for hyperfirm blasters? or is any type of paint fine?
  14. yep that is what I'm talking about. Did you paint any other parts of the blaster? Does anyone know if this will affect Elite status in a negative way?
  15. all the photos of the E-11 blasters such as the hyperfirm model are all black. I was looking on the Elite page application pics. I was thinking of painting some of the fine details silver which would include screws, the bullet ejection port cover (no idea what you really call it).
  16. So can I add silver paint to certain parts of my E-11 blaster or must it be all black for ANH? I've seen some pics where certain parts are painted silver such as the bullet ejection door on the right side of the blaster.
  17. Le Dude (like my French???), Nice collection of helmets wow. Looks like you have a full Vader suit as well. How long have you been collecting Star Wars stuff?
  18. Daetrin, You wish you were the oldest elite, now get out of my way young'in!
  19. Woo Hoo!!!! Unfortunately for my OCD the number 12 didn't even make it a day, LOL. Can we approve elites 4 at a time so we have nice neat rows???? just kidding. Now to get my stickers.
  20. Scott, Please hurry and approve me, the Elite Stormtroopers page needs an even 12 troopers for proper balance (to help out the OCD troopers like me).
  21. I added the buttons and trimmed the corners on my belt, here's a pic:
  22. I used a layer of white foamie foam glued to a piece of black rubber (for strength). I then attach to armor with velcro. It holds real well. I have trooped a few times and no problems. I find that foamie foam sheets are not tough enough on their own.
  23. Funny we talked about clipping the corners today at the armor party but since its not called out in the elite standard we skipped it. I'll do it and post pics of it. I'll also add the 3 bolt caps to the belt. I got em just forgot all about them.
  24. AP armor 1. Caboots 2. Hyperfirm E11 blaster 3. Canvas belt 4. Holster on left side 5. Side gaps closed 6. Green lens made from welder's visor (hard to see in pics) [edit] 7. Belt has buttons and corners trimmed (see pic I posted further down in a follow up posting). Please note the very bright sun makes the blue bottons seem very light colored, they are actually painted a dark blue.
