So can I add silver paint to certain parts of my E-11 blaster or must it be all black for ANH? I've seen some pics where certain parts are painted silver such as the bullet ejection door on the right side of the blaster.

Le Dude (like my French???), Nice collection of helmets wow. Looks like you have a full Vader suit as well. How long have you been collecting Star Wars stuff?

Scott, Please hurry and approve me, the Elite Stormtroopers page needs an even 12 troopers for proper balance (to help out the OCD troopers like me). -

I used a layer of white foamie foam glued to a piece of black rubber (for strength). I then attach to armor with velcro. It holds real well. I have trooped a few times and no problems. I find that foamie foam sheets are not tough enough on their own. -

Funny we talked about clipping the corners today at the armor party but since its not called out in the elite standard we skipped it. I'll do it and post pics of it. I'll also add the 3 bolt caps to the belt. I got em just forgot all about them. -
AP armor 1. Caboots 2. Hyperfirm E11 blaster 3. Canvas belt 4. Holster on left side 5. Side gaps closed 6. Green lens made from welder's visor (hard to see in pics) [edit] 7. Belt has buttons and corners trimmed (see pic I posted further down in a follow up posting). Please note the very bright sun makes the blue bottons seem very light colored, they are actually painted a dark blue.

Yea it loves that thread, no idea why it normally has no relevance to the topic I'm searching on.

TK 9323 has the most compact method for transporting armor. I like his setup a lot except you must disassemble the entire suit. His setup is great for air travel. He bought some type of black travel case at Walmart but I don't know what its called. I like to be able to leave my main body armor all assembled so I just have to pull it out of the bin and put it on. I can say from the troopers I've seen so far, not a lot of kid glove care with the armor, except for helmets.

I didn't realize there are only 11 elite guys. I'm really surprised. Now I can't wait to be in the exclusive club

As you know Daetrin, I should be ready in a couple of weeks. Blaster is my last thing and that's on the way (hyperfirm). Just for general knowledge, I have the Hasbro blaster and decided not to mod it. I want an obvious toy blaster for some trooping and then a more realistic one for other events. There is one other small tweak I have to make. My drop boxes are held on with black straps. I need to get some white straps for them. JoAnns does not carry a thin white cotten strap. I have to get motivated and stop by Michaels some day soon.

congrats Terrell. Good luck as DL this year.

I should add that trimming is not hard to do. However, it is VERY time consuming. After you trim then you have to clean up all the edges by sanding. If you are in no hurry then its fine. If you want to get your armor built as fast as possible, then don't buy AP. I had an armor party to get the trimming started and it still took a few weeks to finish up just the trimming.

I have AP. I spoke with RT before I bought my armor and he felt his armor might be a bit big on me. I'm 5'7" 160lbs. Original troopers were 5'11", 150lbs, so height wise you are not far off and well weight.....no comment

I've noticed this problem since my first day on the board. The search feature does not work. No matter what I search for, it always returns a single link to the same posting, no matter what I search for.

Any way to know if all of your suiting up and waiting time is inside in the comfort of AC? I'm surprised it only takes 15 mins to march the full parade route. But perhaps all the characters have heat issues so they have to keep it real short so their employees don't die of heat stroke.

Thanks guys. Yes my frown is cut out. And I have a sizable gap below the one eye. I just radiate a lot of heat from my small head. I cut slots on both back areas. I cut out 4-5 of the black stripes. I used the cutting wheel attachment and cut right through the decal. It didn't pull the decal at all but it does require some clean up since the decal does shred on the edges as you cut it so you need to clean it up with an exacto. It would be easier to remove the decals cut and then paint and not use a decal. I'm happy with the results. I'll post some pics later. I'll be trooping next week so I'll let you know how it works.

I gotta ask, isn't it really hot and humid in Orland in the summer? How do you wear armor all day and not die from heat stroke? I've been there in the summer and its brutal. Or do you spend most of the time inside?
-
Good idea. Houston eh, I used to live there, loved it. I miss TX.

Anyone with AP done this mod? I want to cut my cod on my AP but curious who else with AP has done this. AP seems to have a good line to cut on. I'll have to compare the pics above of the FX to see where that imaginary line would be on my AP.

I'm hoping that by using two exhaust fans I will draw enough air in thru the mouth and neck area. I'll let you know how this works out.
