  1. Tk 2327 and I thought they might be a bit long on me and not look correct, but if I can put more of the length down the back then thats fine with me.
  2. I've found that my shoulder straps are too long for me. How do you guys feel about trimming them on their ends so they are not too long? Will that look worse than having them too long on the armor?
  3. You can definitely heat and bend the abs for tweaking parts. I've had to heat up a few parts. Since I'm building an AP right now, I'd say you need to consider your skill level in the crafts needed to assemble the various armors and how much work you want to do. IF you lack all skills you might stay away from the hardest to build.
  4. In the pic below, there are three large "tabs" or "buttons" on the right side of the mold. Does anyone know what they are for? Where do they go on the armor?
  5. Jonah, When painting the ears and chin on the AP helmet, do I need to rough up the surface first? I think that would not look very good. Also do I need to add a primer first, or can I just paint the testor grey on directly? Or would recommend some other paint brand to use for the ears and chin?
  6. Even Sung, Check my thread under the AP armor section for pics of my paint job. I don't want to double post pics on here. My thread is: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1845
  7. yikes that is bad over spray. I painted the inside of my helmet tonight and will post some pics for ya tomorrow once its dry.
  8. Even Sung, What do you mean the outside of your helmet was black? Did you get spray paint on the outside of the helmet because you did not mask it well enough (I'm guessing this) or did the paint you used some how show thru the plastic?
  9. I was looking at the legs on my ap suit and decided that it would probably look better using the butt seam with the strip of abs over top (like in their supplemental directions). I don't think the overlap method will look as good on the legs. I already glued all of the arm pieces using the overlap method. I don't think those are as important because most people will look at you dead on, not from the side. What do you guys think?
  10. I got my AP armor this past week. I checked and my part looks fine, just like Bezerkus's part.
  11. One thing I've noticed in a lot of helmet pics are the bolts ends inside the helmet. I'm refering to the bolts that hold the ear pieces on. So do people cap them with rubber? I have not heard of anyone cutting their head on them when they either put on the helmet or take it off. They look like they could leave a nasty cut on the skull.
  12. here are drawings of what I mean: --------
  13. I'm a bit confused. Are you overlapping the two haves of plastic, glueing them together and then add the plastic seam strip to just give it better definition? Or are you creating a butt joint (no overlap of the two haves) and using the strip to actually hold the two halves together? I know with FX you actually overlap the two halves and glue them. But I think I've read where with AP you actually create the butt joint and use a thin strip which overlaps both pieces and holds them together??? I get my AP armor this week and will be starting to assemble it soon. Perhaps its clearer when you actually have the armor.
  14. Its about time someone documented the mundane aspects of the trooper life, coffee, bathroom breaks, its not all just killing rebels and destroying planets. LOL.
  15. check out this thread its very good. He has the helmet all documented and is still working on posting the armor pics. http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1504
  16. Great tutorial. I will be using this next weekend when my armor arrives! I love what you did with the eye pieces.
  17. Is that TM armor? Since you are in the UK i'm guessing its not AP

    Armor done

sorry for asking but what brand is your armor? FX, AP, etc?
  19. I just got notification that my armor shipped yesterday (Monday). I should have it by the end of next week. Just in time for my return from Germany.
  20. your pose in the first pick makes you look like a gangsta trooper, yo yo yo:))
  21. what is "Old Timers" name on here so we know when he replies to these postings?
  22. Can you get "Old Timer" to give a little feedback on his AP and its fit? As well as his actual height? It would be interesting to know if he had to cut down the armor for a better fit and if so which pieces he trimmed.
  23. I just bought the AP suit and once I build it, I will post my thoughts on its fit for us smaller guys.
  24. Well I'm glad I've done my duty buying the AP suit. Alas I'm gonna be going crazy while in Germany for two weeks knowing I have an AP suit at home waiting to be assembled.
  25. Hi All, I bought an AP suit today. I decided that it was better to go with the smaller style suit plus if I'm gonna have to replace the helmet (FX would look really big on me) the extra $$ for a new helmet pushes me up to almost the same price as buying the AP armor up front. Jim
