  3. I am going to be using the hearing assist, so I will make sure all the holes have no white showing through. Already hit up the edge that was mentioned for the forearm. I'll hit up the button plate, detonator and the blaster asap and get photos in (hopefully tomorrow). Thank you again! Great to be on the right track. One more milestone and I'll be up there with the Centurions! WOO HOO! And here's to all of you for a Happy New Years! My TK dreaming of what the New Year will bring!

  4. Hi Barry, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. You did a great work with your armor Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Starting from top. We see that you are using a hearing assist system, but the white ABS can be seen inside the holes. We suggest using a black Sharpie marker or a few dabs of black paint with a tiny brush on the inside of these so that they are not so noticeable. If you are no longer using the system, we ask that you fill in the holes and hit the bar with another coat of paint. Reference Images For more accuracy, we suggest to trim a little more the small ab buttons plate. Reference Images Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. We have a little details here for you ,( nothing to worry about). Let's start. CRL L3: No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. As Josehp noted, this one is just a 5 minutes fix with a dremel or some sand paper to remove last little bit of return edge from the wrist opening on your forearm. Reference Images CRL: The white control panel raised ribbed pad faces the rear, with the controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap. The TD is a little high. It should be about the same height as the canvas belt. On the other hand, the ribbed pad could face a little further back so that the round washer is positioned lower as well. Reference Images CRL L3: The blaster may have minor weathering or base metal exposure however, T-tracks and grips shall be of a black plastic appearance with no silver/metallic weathering allowed. Some battle damage (weathering ) looks nice. As the Crl states, some parts (grips and T-tracks) were made of plastic so may not have any silver/metallic weathering appearance . Another easy fix here trooper! Reference Images And that's all. Welcome to EIB ranks and we are sure we'll be making your Centurion Submission so soon! HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

  5. My son just received his scout trooper kit from RS propmasters and they included a 2024 Calendar with the kit. I was so excited when I turned to Mr. August and saw @Nairy looking back at me. awesome to see you in there. Congratulations

  6. Hello There. Oops. Wrong group. Just kidding. Hello there everyone. I would like to introduce myself as a new, baby butt fresh, highly motivated but overwhelmed, and excited potential member. I have been a life long cosplayer amd Star Wars fan but took about a ten year cosplay hiatus due to school, work and so forth. With life finally calming down, I really want to join the 501st. I have always been a fan of 501st for the outstanding screen accuracy and the charity work that the group does. It's something I want to pursue whole heartedly. Granted, I will require quite a bit of handholding seeing as though I have to brush off quite a bit of dust. Regardless, I am happy to be here. Thank you in advance for all of everyone's help and support.

  7. Hello! My name is Nick and I am from Columbus, Ohio and the Ohio Garrison! I have been in the Legion for three years now and have three costumes: TFA Kylo Ren, an Imperial Officer and Emperor Palpatine. I've loved every minute but something has always bugged me. My friends who are more faceless characters get to PLAY! While I love my time being Kylo or the Emperor, I can't exactly break character. My local squad has some incredible Stormtroopers who have fun and meaningful connections with so many who come in contact with them and I want in on the action! I have no idea about a build right now. I am 5'10" and around 210 lbs. so I know I likely need a "large" kit but would love some guidance on my options. Thank you all!

  8. New Cannon Fodder - HI there TKMC Location:Gold Coast Queensland Australia. Hi Yall, A quick note to say hi there. I’m not sure if I need a build thread in White armour or one in Redback garrison. Looking forward to making your acquaintances in due course. I’ve been a fan of the 501st for many years and attended many events and fund raises such as 2017 Galactic Empire Charity Ball, in 2017, Dreamworld over the years or more recently the 1st Regiment Royal Australian Artillery event at Brisbane City Hall. I have been a keen follower of the 501st collective work over the years. Have started to build a TK ANH stunt, and spent most of my time researching, buying supplies and attempting to learn a new skill from scratch. Measure twice, cut tomorrow has been the motto so far, with first cut reluctance broken, I’ve started on the hand guards. Kind Regards

  9. Thank you for the warm welcome. I would absolutely love, and would be very grateful, to get in touch with the Georgia garrison. I have followed the FB page but it has been pretty quiet so I haven't had too much confidence about reaching out. I figured the main forms would be a good kick off point.

  10. Hi Nick. Welcome to the FISD. Glad to hear you are considering a stormtrooper costume. I am 5’10” as well and about 215 pounds and went with the AP kit as it is bigger in the abdomen and accommodated my build well.

  11. I think I know what you mean. Though I managed to sign in and load up images to IMGUR -I feel like a total NOOB - Hardly started my build and struggling with the forum - I started a new build thread and I think I’ve connected the images incorrectly and used up close to my data allowance already. Can I delete and or start all over. Can’t see how.

  16. The problem with basing it on a single trooper is you would need to do so as they are on screen. If you base it on say that image above, how much of that was from 1976 and how much of that is it's 47 years old? The idea for them on screen is they were white and clean, though by the end of filming we know that wasn't the case anymore. If you wanted level 4 I'd be more going down the route of bra hook shins and the bent wire for the chest attachments. Though that's prop replication at a functional level which is never what we've been aiming for, though I believe MEPD do. FWIW a lot of us do have weathered armour, after a few troops you end up more like Tontine IV than the Death Star. Some people polish this off, others let it build up (like me)

  17. Yessir, my plan is to spray the non-strapped parts first, then do the rest once any strapping and whatnot is done.

  19. Hello and welcome to the FISD Philip! Great to see that you've done your research and printed out the CRL! A build thread on here would be awesome since we always have someone online that can help you if you are even a tiny bit clueless! We have higher levels of armor approval such as Expert Infantry and Centurion, both of which are easiest to achieve if you build the kit with those higher standards in mind, rather than trying to achieve them after you've built your costume! Of course, achieving Expert Infantry or Centurion is not by any means necessary, but they do help your armor to look fantastic! Also, seeing that you are posting images directly into your posts, you'll soon run out of your allocated memory for images - so starting to use Imgur for posting images would be ideal going forward! Here is a nice tutorial on that! Again, welcome and good luck on your continued journey!
