  1. This is a good problem to have. There are so many posts that searching sometimes can be challenging. That said, and I know it's been referenced in some posts and I am sure many people know this. But in case this can help the one person who doesn't know or forgot about this. And I thought I would just share as its own post. You can search faster by going straight to Google. There are a couple of ways. Method 1: Go to Google.com, and in the search box enter site:whitearmor.net followed by whatever you are searching for. For example, "site:whitearmor.net forearm armor. This will give you both links to posts and many photos that have been indexed. Method two: which is really the same as method one but with a small twist. Add a bookmark with the following (no quotes) " https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awhitearmor.net". When the page loads it will load ready to be searched. Just enter your search criteria and viola.

  2. Considering what PB did , you guys did a fantastic job (well done for all your hard work and behind the scenes effort) . I remember it felt somehow easier to navigate parts of the site all those years ago, it felt simpler / slicker, would be terrific to get back to that. Sorry to derail your keen observation of a thread Dale.

  3. Don't stress Tristan, basic approval does not require a blaster, so you will be able to troop with what you have the way it is. Only higher level EI and Centurion you would need to adjust it. Secondly, your local GML will be the one approving your armour at basic level, not the detachment, so check in with who that might be and see if they are happy to approve you with that beautiful helmet. You may find they love it as much as we do when it comes to replica props, so don't worry yourself yet. looking forward to your build.

  4. Took @ 2 years to update all the missing and watermarked photobucket photos, unfortunately some just couldn't be recovered due to closed/missing accounts. Back in the day (11 years ago) the forum had a whole section of basics on how to build armor which was pretty easy to find, be nice to get that back up and running.

  7. There was a recent question that asked how to remove split rivets and thought I would share my method, as well as encourage other troopers to post their methods here as well in order to help others that need to tackle this problem. Tools: - Diagonal Cutters "Side Cutters" - Needle Nose pliers or standard pliers depending on the application I prefer using the Diagonal Cutters / "Side Cutters" as the edges of the cutters catch the tails of the rivet without damaging your armor. Using the cutters, squeeze the tails together. Then use pliers to straighten the tails out for removal Good luck Troopers, and many thanks in advance to those who post their methods here. 8. Absolutely. I hadn’t ever seen this post, but this is the exact method I used to redo my cod/posterior rivet. I’ll have to reference this when I get around to finishing my build thread. [emoji23] I’ll get this added to the reference thread! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. ALRIGHTY THEN! After my long week at my cottage I was finally able to go through my big brown box and enjoy pulling everything in it out. I still need to get some supplies but I might as well start trimming and do what I can while I wait for things, still need to read all of AJ Hamler's TK Build as well. Here's some pictures though! so that's pretty neat

  12. That is what this forum is all about Dale, and I'm glad you had a good experience. Do you know why I created this forum? It was because back in 2005 when I joined there was *no* transparency at all. There was no forum, no Facebook, and certainly *noone* talked openly about armor. When you were new the answer was "I know a guy" or you took your risks on Ebay, paying ~$1500 for FX armor (which is how I started). Only when you got in did you get access to the Legion Yahoo group, or your local garrison, who would give you more information. "Is that armor recast?" "Hey man, why are you asking so many questions!" was the answer. Having even this page where anyone could read it was novel and we got a lot of pushback about doing so. Thankfully I was new to the Legion and just kept pushing forward, and was surrounded by a core team of like minded people. Yes, this type of transparency is now normal and expected, but at one point it would have been considered heretical.

  13. I have also updated my Soft Goods Discussion post with more info and a brief comparison of the Endor Finders and TrooperBay gloves currently available for FOTKs, and my above post with my completed TLJ thermal detonator. I also finished the included solid resin Denuo Novo TD as a TFA variant using their included stickers and will figure out the best place to post that at some point, maybe even a comparison thread once completed so people can visualize the differences between the two suits. Idk. We'll see. Crossing a few items off this week and trying to forge ahead. Rainy weather and work have slowed me down lately, but I want to get this finished out soon, and still to a high standard!
