  3. Hello, everyone. Who I am and what brought me to the FISD: I have a ROTK kit I bought pre-pandemic from 850 Armor Works. My original intent was to hang out and support my FIRST Robotics Team at their events (I’m the Principal of a high school). The team is Red Storm 509 and their mascot is a stormtrooper. Once I had the kit, I started looking here on the FISD and found an entire galaxy of enthusiasts! Meanwhile, being in education during the pandemic was a whole new ballgame and the kit was reboxed and put away. Now that my life is back to normal, I’m going to start the build so I figured I’d better join the FISD.

  4. Looking forward to seeing the progress. I'm no Rogue One guru but here are a few answers for you 1. The CRL says it mounts to the belt with no visible screws or clips. I'm assuming some of you rivet or screw it to the belt and do not use snaps. I've been reading a lot of build threads but have not come across that yet. Any help on good ways to attach the thermal detonator to the belt would be appreciated. Some mount with screws/bolts, some use magnets and some use velcro, so it can be removed and some even glue it on. Which ever way you mount the detonator they can come off at times 2. I've come across several ways to fill seamss (e.g. bondo). I'll have to do that after I connect the two halves. I'm new to any kind of model work so I'll take whatever advice you have for a newbie's first attempt. Some use ABS paste, it just helps on places that may flex, it's a little more work though, JB weld is sandable and is also good for flexing pieces, bondo can crack under stress/bending. 3. The total length will be 8 1/4 inches. The CRL says approximately 8". I'm assuming my 1/4" extra is okay. I doubt your GML will want you to get a ruler out, should be fine

  6. Robert! Welcome to the white space for space white! lol. If i might suggest, if you have not already, start a build thread (WIP) over in that area of the forum and ask questions all you can there. sometimes these "Welcome" Sections get neglected as we are trying to keep up with helping members in the WIP side of things. Definitely in the right place for help. we look forward to your progress!

  7. Welcome! Let me be one to tell you as i know you dont hear it enough, we appreciate you for what you do! I am a SBLE Police Officer and the school admin take it on the chin every single day. Star Wars is definitely my get away from all the BS that surrounds the education life, Those kids are definitely the push that helps us through the day, but man can those parents be something else. Anyways, Welcome to the incredible journey that is armor building. You are definitely in good hands here. If you have any questions, any at all, please dont be hesitant.

  8. Once you have some approval photos you can post up in our pre approval area, although not official it can be a good way of getting any feedback or updates you may need before submitting to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they look over your costume for legion approval

  9. Correct I should have stated not in the CRL, only ones I have seen are from artwork or members with unapproved versions. Scope is different though in this one Correct scope and bipod Looks to be same figure/artwork I've held a metal version MG34 and there's no way I could have kept the front of the barrel up without a bipod Battlefront has bipod but no scope

  11. Not sure why rear is written in the text but it's not in the EIB guidelines FYI if you check my last L2 and L3 approvals there are no rear belt images there (links in signature)
