So, I took EIB approval photos... and on the pix, my magnet-aligned torso armor decided to do this: It's not bad at all, but after taking the pix, I learned that the magnets can misalign themselves ever so slightly in either direction. It's not very much, but it's enough to be annoying. The magnets seem to have a little bit of grab in them. They don't slide smoothly, but can rather grab and lock down kinda. I needed something to ensure that they'd align perfectly every time. I could ask someone nearby to align them for me when I suit up, but it seemed like with a little thought, I could come up with something simple to do it. Like a little key to lock it in place just right by itself. So I was looking at the armor and I noticed that the space between the boxes was a perfect natural slot. If I had a key in one half, it would naturally close at perfect alignment every time. So I made a key. Two layers of spare material seemed to be just right. I wanted it to have some strength and not accidentally bend on a bad closing. Two layers seemed better than one. After getting E6000'd over night, I ground the two layers down to the right 13mm dimension for the 13.7mm slot. I gave it a little rounded edge as well to help the key shoot easily into the slot. Another night of E6000. And there we are! Half of the torso now has a key to align the magnet boxes. Hot keyway action. It's simple but I'm really pleased with this mod. Mod to a mod. Repeated opening, closing, and test fitting on myself showed that the magnet boxes close perfectly every time. I hope the misalignment doesn't come up with the EIB review.3 points

Okay, shoulder bells, sniper knee, sniper shim and belt boxes trimmed and final sanded. Body armors are rough trimmed, and had to stop because my arms were killing me from the Lexan scissors. I will say, the mould lines on this Intergalactic Supply kit are fantastic. I rough out a line with my pencil along the line, keeping a bit of material for sacrificial sanding, and it's coming together super easy. The last picture is my bagged small greeblies for belt assembly. I fixed the TD, per the comment and reference above, and it looks great now. The Ab buttons are all painted and ready for some E6000, once we land in The Sunshine State for the Holiday. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk2 points

Hello all! TK-71668 reporting for Duty! I am so excited to finally be part of the 501st and the FISD! This is truly a lifelong dream! I am so grateful to all of the people who have shared their wisdom and knowledge on these boards. It has been an amazing (and sometimes scary) six months of making my armor and I could not have done it without so many people being willing to share what they know! /salute1 point

Yupppp, so the other person he enlisted to help get things back on track is me haha I set out (with a huge assist by @MaskedVengeance) to gather info for potential legal action and found a brother in need instead. Frankly, life hasn't been kind to Daniel lately and he's in quite a deep hole, but he's coming out of it, has no intention of ripping people off, and wants to make good as best he can. I'm somewhat local to him and a project manager by trade, so I volunteered to help handle business/order management and communication/updates so he can just focus on production. I'm still optimistic and hoping he can dig his way out but hopefully my assistance in eliminating any known roadblocks or excuses will eventually benefit the community. No way I'm gonna let him leave everyone hanging but I'd rather seek positive outcomes if I can. Expect email updates soon if you've reached out to myself or Caleb and we'll be hopefully working our way through most of the backlog by end of Q1 and implementing better business practices moving forward so this doesn't happen again. Consistent updates are coming soon and I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding in the meantime.1 point

Hello everyone, Hallo zusammen, TK-86098 -AKA Soma- reporting for duty from the cloudy Korbach, Germany (Hessen). I got my approval in September this Year, my armor is an RS ANH Stunt. I`m 35 years old and doctor of Medizin (Urologist :D). My journey and dreams started at the age of 10-12, as I saw some fan/scratch-made TK`s on the TV. I hoped to become one of these guys, once! As a student I never had the chance to own/build one. Now as a doctor I had to prepare myself to the specialist exam. As a motivation I promised myself to order the kit on the day, I have the paper in my hand. That day came on the September 4th, 2020. It was such a nice feeling to open that big brown box I`m really happy to be a part of this community and hope to troop with you soon! Yours Soma/TK860981 point

Hello and Hallo, I can't believe that I finally got to this point where I get to introduce myself to all of you again -- this time as a TK...! Because I get a whole new post for myself, I decided to use this space to talk about my journey to the 501st, how I chose my costume, as a way to say "thank you" to all those that I've already thanked several times before, but will do so again, because their help was so very much appreciated, and of course to explain why I chose to be TK-66744. I hope this is at least a bit enjoyable to read My journey to the 501st Legion starts with a 12 year old Luca, who isn't that much of a Star Wars fan, but has just discovered the wondrous (and kind of terrifying) world of fanfiction. Younger me decided to get an account (which soon gained me the nickname "Morgi") and slowly started to fall in love with the Star Wars stories and through that Star Wars in general. Honestly, without that fanfiction, I probably would not be this much of a Star Wars enthusiast. One fanfiction in particular caught my eye back in December 2015. It was a story about Darth Vader and the Empire with some truly amazing Stormtrooper characters. You could find me every single Friday waiting for that next update. The author soon let the reader know, that she herself is a member of the 501st Legion, talks about trooping and all the amazing people. I wanted that and decided to keep saving money until I finally would get to buy my own set of Stormtrooper armor. In the meantime, I wanted to meet members of the 501st and to get to gush over those characters, to admire those Vaders and Stormtroopers not only through a screen. Somehow that dream of meeting those characters never worked out. The dream to become a member of the 501st Legion myself grew instead -- what better way to meet a Vader or a Stormtrooper than being inside that armor yourself, right? At age 17, I got fully immersed in the topic, watched videos about the 501st on YouTube until they could only offer me those short clips that had about seventeen views and were from 2009. I was hooked. Instead of studying for my graduation, I decided to watch Star Wars movies and 501st videos until I came to the conclusion that I would buy my own armor. I researched on here and finally decided to go with an RS kit. At the end of May, two days before my oral exam in history, the first box arrived and my mother had to take that box away until the first of June, so that I could actually focus on the exam. During the whole month of June I worked on my armor using those nice videos and tutorials online. My birthday gifts consisted of a neckseal and similar accessories. At the beginning of July I then decided that I would need to get more specific help than that material could offer and I got an account on here. The next month went by in a blur with daily updates on my build thread and an absolutely amazing support from all the members on here. Thank you very much! In fact, the build went well enough, that when I met up with Tino (T-Jay) towards the end of August to take my Approval Pictures, the GMOs had nothing bad to say about my armor. At this point a huge thank you (again) to Tino for the hours that he's helped me so far and continues to help me. You've become an absolute cornerstone in my journey to becoming a TK, from advice on regards to trooping, over help with my armor and the approval pictures to helping me choose my TK number (you're right. Using the number you get when you look up "Morgi" on a mobile phone number pad is kinda neat ). Oh, and of course a huge thank you for showing me all your props! Those were the first screen accurate props that I'd ever seen (12yo me would've been horrified that it took me over five years to make that dream come true, haha) and I'm still blown away by the experience...! Long story short: At the beginning of September I then got the happy news that I've been accepted into the 501st Legion as TK-66744 Thanks for all the information on here, the individual help and the continuous support during my build! There's nothing more for me to say, except that I'm looking forward to meeting more of you, to being a part of the Legion and to finally have that first troop at the beginning of October. Thanks for reading all of this, I know it's a tad longer than most posts here Luca/Morgi/TK-66744 German Garrison1 point

Hi everyone , My name is Colin and I’m 58 yrs old from Northamptonshire in the UK. I have just booked my first crew induction date after being approved for my TK ANH costume. My story started a long long time ago when the very first movie was released and was able to go and see it in the cinema in my youth. My interest in Starwars has been ongoing since then but really stepped up when about 2 years ago I became interested in making costume parts mainly in the Steampunk world. I then wanted to make a Stormtrooper suit for a friend which I really enjoyed doing. I then decided to make one for myself and the rest is history. I’ve enjoyed every minute of the build and found it incredibly therapeutic during a difficult period . Now the fun begins.1 point
