  2. Hi Nairy, yes I know that 850 does one but their kits are sold out, which is a bummer because their kits are the cheapest I have seen. I also know denou novo does one as well which is probably who I am gonna do. I just gotta figure out if I wanna do a helmet kit or just get a finished helmet from them, but if I do a helmet kit I just don’t know who to get it from.

  4. Hello and welcome to the forum Dannon! Your height and weight is no problem for any TK! I'd even say that it is great! To fill out the armor you can use foam padding and it will look good when you move around, and you'll look more muscular just like they do in the movie! Hope that you find some people that can help you, if not your brothers! Do you know where to purchase the kit?

  7. Hello, I just joined and been a long time fan since I was young, and it mainly my middle brother who got me into “Star Wars”. He’s more into comics than me. I am currently 21 and in college as of right now. However, I am looking to get a FOTK kit. I was just wondering if there was any local people in Louisiana (around the Lafayette area) who would be able to help me build it. If not, really could anyone in general help because I really wanna make one and troop with my local garrison. It might be hard though since I am 5’9, weigh 125, and I am really skinny. So I was wondering if the kits really go that small?
  8. Hello and welcome aboard, research is the key, looking forward seeing a build from you soon.
  9. Welcome Maria. Highly recommend you don’t buy from Etsy or eBay when sourcing the armour kit. There are reputable suppliers on the forums.
  10. Good eye! thanks! I imagined that the clips went on the outside, but Ill be sure to switch them.
  11. Hello there, Maria! I second what Jonatan has said on all fronts: let’s get you (and your son) into some TK armor! Definitely DEFINITELY check out our vetted vendor list that was already posted; in particular if you’ve been eyeing armor on Etsy. Do you already know what particular era or movie stormtrooper armor you want to replicate? Many of us start with an ANH-Stunt style, which is what we all first saw in the opening minutes of A New Hope. “Stunt” refers to the generic stormtrooper character, versus the “Hero” style armor that Han and Luke wore on the Death Star. I look forward to following along on your TK journey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Estes Park Safety Fair Definitely the best fair like this that I've been to. Horses, dogs, drones & a helicopter. Our POC and buddy Officer Paul was a great guy. Things were going smoothly until I upset the wookiee.
  13. I think that it would be very wise to take a look at the vendors list that I sent and at least write on here for feedback before you do any purchase! We all want you to have an armor that will live up to the 501st Legion standards, and withstand the test of trooping!

  15. Thanks for the response Nairy. I’m approximately 5’7 and about 130 lbs. My son Luke and I have seen some stormtrooper kits on Etsy.
  16. @gmrhodes13 Ok I got two sizes of smaller screws. I feel like the ones on the left are the best especially since I cut my clips tight. The entire length is a bit small at 7” and the white part is just under 4.5” to compensate for the smaller ish TD. Hopefully this will be close enough once I paint them black
  17. Here is the list of vendors I was talking about! Here is a good source of information that you can read up on to get a feel for what to do next on your journey!
  18. Hello Maria and welcome to the FISD! You are in the right place for everything Stormtroopers! Thank you for sharing your story! I say let's make this happen shall we?! I'd say being a Stormtrooper is one of the best feelings for s Star Wars fan with a 20 year old wish! You don't need to be handy or a builder to build your own armor! Many people have done it by asking questions and posting images on cut lines here on the forum and achieved amazing results! There are vendors that offer commissioned kits where you just have to send in your measurements and the armor will usually be up to 501st Legion standards! All of the builders on our vetted vendors list are trusted and deliver great pieces of armor! What's your height?
  19. Hello, my name is Maria and I’m new to the group. I’m a 54 year old single mom and it’s been my 20 year wish to be a member of the 501st legion. I’m not handy nor a builder but my son and I are committed to try to get me (and maybe him) into the legion so I can be a stormtrooper at least once before I die (or Alderan blows up again).
  20. Nvm, just went back and looked at images again. I think I'll hit the whole thing with a gloss white then crack and weather and that should be enough of a shine.
  21. Had a slight detour while assembled most of a Sandtrooper (thank you ADHD), but we're back on track. I really need to find the thread about using imgur for photos, I have several photos to add. Today I got all of the pieces sealed with Plastidip on the back. If anyone has any type of video tutorials on the fiberglass kits, I'd be forever in your debt. I'm a bigger gal, so I have to shim up the chest, back, and ab plate so it'll look right. Also, thoughts on the white paint before weathering - should I make it glossy then weather it, or leave it matte because they've been exiled so long there's surely no way their armor is still shiny...
  22. Although not needed currently having a second set is great for long troops especially conventions when you can change into a nice fresh set after a long break, noting worse than putting on a cold, sweat infused undersuit
  23. Very nice, if you wish you could also post in the 3D depository I know it's still early on but make sure when it comes to your submission you have the forearms on the right arms, note the small black detail in pill boxes should be on the inside of the forearms Getting close now.
  24. Yes, those two when brightened it's gold. The older images it looked white. I'll adjust the colour.

  26. Quick little update! As we know, the included panel is too tall for the included fabric pouches in the Denuo Novo kit. I took some measurements, and it's about an inch too tall. So, I took it upon myself to model this in fusion 360, so I could 3D print this instead of buying new pouches! Here it is: If anyone finds themselves needing the file down the line, Im more than happy to send it over to you! I can also put it in the 3D file depository. Hope this helps!
  27. Ha, yeah, flipping off those rebel scum . Thanks for the tips and encouragement. I retired last summer and recently got a part time gig at REI, I'll be working the next three days but will have some time after that to work on the ears. Then, more hand surgery on Friday for carpal tunnel syndrome from the swelling from the original surgery. After a couple weeks, maybe sooner, I may be able to get back to it. I should have some updated photos by Thursday. thanks again.
