Sgt Steve
I got my new TK resin cast from "Kevin" of Imperial Surplus" fame. See Pic's. Hey Kev, What Should I Paint/Cover The Inside Of Your TK Cast, To Give Strength?
TK8776 jgarrettg
Cool! Are they Urethane? Do they seem brittle when you cut the eyes out?
FIVE[501st]
Cool. I've not seen many "resin" lids. I have the same question John had... what's it made of?
Sgt Steve
Cool! Are they Urethane? Do they seem brittle when you cut the eyes out? Hell if I know just what Kev make's it out of but so far it seem's ok. Around the eye's it's on the brittle side but when I did the first part of useing my Dremel to sand out the ring it was not. yes I think Kev has the only resin cast TK lid. TK6294
I own two Kev's ANH 2.5 helmets. They are friggin awesome. They are made out high impact Poly Styrene (I think). They are by far the toughest helmet that you can buy and they look great. I am going to be finishing the second helmet as a TX soon. Here is a thread with my pictures and blunders.... ----------- Edited February 2, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021
Daetrin[Admin]
I understand they are droppable but I haven't tried it. I can say after owning a C6 EPII clone bucket and a JM v2 EPIII, you'll cry like a baby if you drop them (and I did one of them). It's not pretty, esp. in the week areas like the chin / tubes. Kevin's - at least the v2 I held awhile ago, seemed much sturdier.

High Impact Polystyrene is HIPS. Same as TE2 and ATA.
TK8776 jgarrettg
Polystyrene in a mixable resin would be awesome. Does such a thing exist? I'm going to find out. All my resin is based on urethayne.

darren1970[501st]
Hey Steve if Kev's TK stuff is as good as his Clone lids and armour it will be superb. After having a resin cast EpIII lid I would deffinately consider a resin TK as well. Keep us posted on the finishing of this lid Steve. I'm really interested.
