Doggydoc[Staff] Posted July 21 Report Posted July 21 Hi Joe, Thank you for your EIB application. Your armour looks great and is close to EIB level, but we are going to need a few changes before we can go ahead and approve it. Lets start at the top and work our way down. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Helmet We are going to need a bit of paint cleanup on the frown ear bars and vocoder. This should be a fairly quick fix with a toothpick dipped in varsol or mineral spirits to carefully scrape away the over painted areas. DO NOT USE ACETONE FOR THIS AS IT WILL MELT THE PLASTIC ON THE HELMET. Your paint on the frown is extending up onto the gums in several areas. Please take a few minutes to clean this up. CRL Basic: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. A total of 8 cut outs in the teeth area of the frown are present. References For your ear bars, the black outline will need to be cleaned up a bit as well. References Similarly, your vocoder paint needs to be cleaned up a bit to give more of a defined outline for each of the stripes. Again, this should be a fairly easy correction with a toothpick and some varsol or mineral spirits. References Shoulder straps The white elastic under your shoulder straps is being pulled out by the shoulder bells. This can be corrected by placing some velcro between the ABS shoulder strap and the white elastic one that is being pulled out. This will also bring your shoulder bells in a bit more and achieve the level 3 criteria. References Biceps Your biceps armour pieces are rotating somewhat when worn, this is likely caused by them being a bit too large. This can be corrected by padding the inside with some foam to help keep them aligned with your arm, or by trimming down some of the size for a better fit . References Forearms Your forearms are sitting a bit too high, creating a larger gap than desired at the wrist area. For a more screen accurate look, you want to try to adjust the strapping between the biceps and forearm to create similar sized gaps between the biceps and forearm and forearm and hand plate. References Abdominal Armor The lower edge of the abdominal armour should align with the edge of the cutout notch in the kidney armour. This should be a fairly easy correction and take a few minutes of trimming and sanding. References 1 Quote

So I removed about a half inch of metal from the clips themselves to achieve the correct look and got it to sit closer to the belt as it does in the references. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor, and please keep in mind that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. Helmet Your Helmet is sitting a bit high on your head, giving you a bit of a bobble head look, by removing some of the padding at the top, it should drop your helmet down and give you a more screen accurate look. Doing this will often improve vision as well. References *************************************************** Centurion Requirements: In this section we prepare you for our highest tier of approval. Because Centurion photos must show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Level 3 might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we are able to clearly see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Shoulder Armor For Level 3 approval, your right shoulder armour will need to come in slightly. to close the gap at the shoulder bridge CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. References Forearms We will need a bit of sanding on the openings of the forearms for Level 3 approval as there is still a bit of return edge remaining. CRL L3: No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. References Your forearms are looking a bit oversized. This may be corrected by reducing the size slightly but some foam on the inside to keep your arm centered within the forearm will likely correct this issue. References Abdominal Armor The edges of the large abdominal button plate should be cut square and not have rounded edges. As long as the plate was attached with E6000, it should not be too hard to carefully remove and trim. CRL L3: Plate does not overlap the edges of this area and shall show a definite straight cut edge around all sides. References Boots Your boots meet all of the CRL criteria but appear to be a bit large as they are quite wrinkled over the top of the foot. This will need to be corrected for Level 3 approval. Hopefully you can have this fixed by a shoe repair person or similar with an insert to make the boots more snug, and not have to purchase a new pair. References Blaster Your blaster is missing the spring in the receiver chamber. For level 3 approval, we are going to need this to be added for a more screen accurate blaster. References Quote
