Daetrin[Admin] Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 Last week I was lucky enough to be in Manchester (UK) to pick up a fresh set of RS armor, then head to Edinburgh to troop with the ISG (Imperial Scottish Garrison). Both were amazing experiences that I shall cherish forever, but wouldn't have happened without the incomparable Ryan Barlow - TD/SL 19809 - from the Imperial North Western Squad (UKG), to whom I'm eternally grateful. RS Visit While there, I was introduced to another Paul, who appeared in A New Home as a stormtrooper and has been spotted on film. In his hand is an original screen used helmet. If you ever get a chance to meet him, please do. Humble, friendly, and overall great fellow. Meeting Rob of RS is always a highlight. Also pictured are Ryan & Rob (Catfood) & Rob (RS) 6 1 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted February 27 Author Report Posted February 27 Next up was trooping with the ISG! If you can make it up to Scotland, you really should. Brian & the rest of the ISG folk were simply lovely. So welcoming, I felt like it was my home garrison. Whether it was ensuring I didn't run off on my own, introducing me to real Irn Bru, or helping me in & out with a new TK, every member of the ISG was simply brilliant. They truly embody the spirit of "troopers helping troopers" and what the 501st is about. My most sincere thanks go out to the members of the ISG, who made for me a very special troop. A extra special thanks go out to Brian & Lynn for all they did that weekend. Truly, if the opportunity presents itself again, I'd troop with the ISG in a heartbeat - they're the best! Oh yeah, more photos! Me & Ryan, who was so gracious his time and went above & beyond in making this all possible. I owe you a solid, brother! Me & Brian, the ISG GCO They have arguably one of the best Chewbaccas, and I was geeking out :) 5 3 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted February 27 Author Report Posted February 27 Mods - feel free to move if needed. I posted it here as I'm not maintaining a true trooper log. Quote
Sithping[TK] Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Congratulations Paul on trooping with the Imperial Scottish Garrison. I'd loved to have been there, heard it was an amazing weekend with the new HM and R2KT 1 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted February 28 Author Report Posted February 28 It was indeed, and sorry we weren't able to meet up. Next time, truly. :) I'd troop with the ISG again in a heartbeat, truly an amazing group of folks. Also, you guys looked *great*. Love the quality bar you have set in the ISG as costumers. Shout out to the spotters as well, who were lit (e.g. on top of their game). There is a video out there of me "escorting" a rebel pilot - hopefully someone shares the link. Doh! I forgot to give a shout out to your Rebel Legion team as well. Rock stars, all. 3 Quote

Cheers Rob, thank you for the kind words. As always, it was great to see you even though the visit was short. I hope next time I'm up that way we'll have more time to hang out. The RS team did an amazing job making a longer set of shins that came out really well. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Looks like you had a wonderful time Paul. One day I hope to get back to the UK and go see the team at RS myself, very awesome. Quote
Tee-Kay Fisto[TK] Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Please forgive me for not jumping in here sooner Paul, busy time of year for us. It was a genuine honour and pleasure to have you visit and troop with us in Edinburgh. You are the reason us guys in white have a place to play without all those other costumes getting in the way . Legend. You may be from another garrison but you are family to us, as is anyone who comes to play with us, even that Ryan fellow. He's good people. I'm touched by your kind words about how my guys welcomed you with open arms. I'm incredibly proud of each and every one of my troopers as they all strive to be the best they can and live up to the ethos of the legion. I hope that we will troop together again in the future my friend, my brother. Oh, and I'll get all the pics on to my google drive and share them with you as soon as I get a chance. Much respect and love from both Lynn and I. Bri Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted March 10 Author Report Posted March 10 Hi Brian, Thank you for your kind words. It was my distinct honor to be allowed to troop with you and the other members of the ISG. Truly, I felt adopted into the family and you were all so welcoming. I can't wait to return and share your fellowship. I have fond memories of spending time with you and Lynn. You folk represent everything great about FISD and the 501st Legion, inspiring me and I'm sure so many others. With all my best, Paul Quote
