Ive been a lurker for quite some time here.

 

However, I'm excited to say that, after owning the materials for 5 years, I have finally completed building my ANH Stunt TK costume.

 

Ive got some tweaking to do. But I think/hope I am close to approval.

 

My question for you all is... Now what? 

 

If I'm following correctly, I need to contact my local garrison (Bloodfin for southern Indiana USA), and also reach out to y'all.

 

Does that mean I send photos to all of y'all?

Hello Shane! Congratulations on completing your armor!

 

You contact your local Garrison and send in your approval photos as will be requested by them! When you are approved, you come here and request trooper status in this thread below:

 

In that way, you'll be able to purchase detachment merchandise when it launches next time!

Generally the GML will want views from front , back and both sides as well as additional side views with your arms raised. They may also ask for close up views of your blaster if you have one and the helmet from all sides as well.  Finally, they will want an action pose and a helmet off photo.

I have a follow-up question, I work in a field where anonymity is important. Is it possible to keep my unredacted face out of the public space for the internet?

I'm in the same situation. Only thing you should be concerned about is if you play stupid games, you may win a stupid prizes. 

 

 

Simply put, don't draw attention to yourself. Im assuming your face is already somewhere on the net.

I see. I work around those who have received their prize for playing stupid games.

Welcome aboard, Shane! I too am a Shane and funnily enough, I grew up in Louisville so I was in south Indiana a lot. My Dad bought a house in Sellersburg and I spent a lot of time there.

You must be in IT security, or hush hush branch of the military 😆.

 

If you’re really concerned about your identity don't post anything with your face. Though that option may be off the table whennit comes to 501st approval. Your garrison GMO may require a bucket off head shot. If that concerns you ask them if it's optional.

You certainly don't need to post any photos of your face here, just armoured up images.

I don't have an issue with allowing the group who approves it seeing my face. I just don't want it on any website rosters.

As others have said you can hide your face as well as any contact information, make sure you mention it to your GML (garrison membership liaison) or GWL (garrison web liaison)

 

"If a member does not wish their picture to be made public, please use one of the appropriate framesets out of the Classified Framesets "
